So I attempted to give my notice right away they said " no that's not how it works. This is a business " so basically you have to pay for another 28 days. Also don't try and buy this as a gift for a friend or family member. They claim they need to person who is receiving the gift needs to provide all of their credit card info - basically so they will be locked into a billing cycle. They were claiming is was for the waiver reasons- when I said he will sign the waivers but is not gonna give you his credit card info - I reiterated this is a one time gift for the 28 day program you advertise- so as far as fitness - I can't judge. As far as business- read the fine print and be ready to pay. Also they should state can't be bought as a gift. Must be purchased by participant. Corey you explained it much better here than on the phone. My only question is about the 28 day advance requirement for cancellation. You said within 21 days to cancel but if you don't you're locked in automatically to the next 28 days correct?

Whomever is using it, male or female, standard protocol is to lock the doors when in use at a public facility. Let me take you on a story which includes a gym member named "Creeper" by other gym goers and a management who has failed to protect their female customer base. This story will leave you disappointed whether you have a daughter, sister, wife, or mother. Often times woman battle to be heard or taken seriously when they voice up. They are not believed, or their complaints are viewed as "just complaining", or "they take things too personally." I am voicing up about this to protect the next woman-these predators start out as exposing themselves, and then evolve into physically touching. I attend an evening gym session at Crossfit Shatter. Before the actual group workout, I decide to use the restroom. Upon arriving, the women's restroom door was unlocked and I entered. I observed a young male squatting on top of the toilet with no pants on, exposing his genitals and conveniently facing the door-as if waiting for someone to enter. It was clear he was an "exhibitionist", and waiting for his next female victim. The members were on to something. This was the person they labeled "Creeper". After leaving the facility and calling the location's manager, it was clear he did not deem this situation as alarming. He questioned whether it was even a crime and relayed he cared about the gym's reputation. Most concerning is being told this individual was kicked out from his previous gym. When I realized nothing was going to be done to address this issue, and protect other female members, I asked for my membership to be revoked. It was granted without penalty. I asked other female gym members if they experienced anything with "Creeper". Two of them stated yes. During those incidents he was in the bathroom with the light off, door slightly ajar and he had no shirt on. As if he was testing the waters. Placing a label "Women", "Men" above the bathroom doors does not solve the problem. The bigger issue here is not respecting women and not stopping the victimization.

Crossfit Shatter has been the catalyst for one of the most amazing life changes I've ever committed to - making myself and my health a priority in a way that honors health, fitness, and community above just a number on the scale. I started attending Crossfit Shatter last fall, but I made a commitment to regular attendance in January (I can confirm, you get out of crossfit what you put into it). I am so much stronger, healthier, and happier than I was just one year ago. I look forward to going to the gym every time I go and that can be attributed to the great people who teach and attend classes at Shatter. Shane and Lucille have built a gym and a community that is unlike any other. I love going to class. I always sweat, am challenged to improve and constantly amaze myself. I'm doing things I never thought possible. Shatter is now not just "the gym" - it is the place I go to work out aggression after a tough day at the office, it is a place I go to see friends, and it is a place I feel powerful and optimistic about my health and my future. People reading this may think I don't have anything to compare Shatter to, which would be incorrect. I've visited 3 other gyms and, yes, overall crossfit consistently delivers on community, training and support. However, Shatter takes that community and combines it with outstanding technical training, forward thinking programming taking into account athlete weaknesses and strengths, and supportive tight-knit community combined with humor, making Shatter truly something special. Crossfit is difficult no matter what gym you belong to. Stick with it. The way you will grow, learn and develop (at any age or skill level) to become an athelete will amaze you. Shatter will do all that expertly, while also making working out fun!

Made a few appointments and canceled them then finally made an appointment and went in. My appointment was at 10. Seth had told me it would be about an hour. The consultation was interrupted constantly at 11:45 I left but not before I went into his office, he told me about his multiple programs. Spent @ least $500. Was not given a copy of the contract. After thinking about the gym, that by order of the Governor was not supposed to be open had people working out without masks. The next day I told Seth I was not comfortable there because of the lack of safety related to covid. I asked for my money back and he said I could do the program online, that was not what I signed up for. He refused to give me back my money saying it was non-refundable per the contract. I did not get a copy of the contract. It was 1 day after I signed it. I asked if i could get personal training from him but he didn't have time, said it could be with one of his employees.Thought about reporting him to Albany County, didn't because I felt guilty unlike him and his business practices. Definitely wouldn't ever recommend him. I made a huge mistake believing him.

Can I give zero stars? If you want a trainer who will mislead you about what services he offers…read moresuch as "one-one-training" when it is in-fact group training but you are expected to keep up with the rest of the group, Seth is your guy. If you want a trainer who will sign you up for more programs without your consent and never praise but criticize what you for what you do and explain that it's never good enough or ... if you are struggling or not "good enough" or simply can't do something than your trainer will call you "lazy and say you are making excuses," Seth is your guy. If you want to be publicly insulted body/fat shamed to your face, behind your back to other clients and on social media, Seth is your guy. If you want to be told you will fail on your own without him or his "program" and that you will "die in ten years if you do not remain in his program because you are not capable of helping yourself"....Seth is your guy. If you want your wants/needs and medical concerns to be ignored and dismissed and be shamed and guilted for not signing up for every single program he demands because it "hurts his feelings", Seth is your guy. If you want a trainer who will NOT meet you where you are at and allow his employees to start classes late then lie about customers being late, then lecture you..... then Seth is your guy. If you want a trainer who will shame you for taking care of personal family needs/emergencies and make you feel like a piece of shit for having to stop his program due to personal/family emergencies and responsibilities, Seth is your guy. If you want a trainer who flat says he has to motivate and hold his clients accountable by treating them this way, Seth is your guy. If you want a trainer who will insult your parents or family whom he knows nothing about and say "you will end up just as unhealthy or dead like them if you don't work out at HIS gym... then Seth is your guy." I am not here to tear down anyone or cause anyone to lose their career or business. I've heard that Seth has helped many others. Great job! I did learn new workouts in his gym that I never thought I could have done so I am grateful and thankful for that and I will give credit there where credit is due. But, I keep it real and I will NEVER stand for the bullying, guilting, disrespect and shaming of other individuals as a means to gain business or as Seth puts it "motivate others or hold them accountable". I have been a social worker/mental health therapist for many years and I hold my clients accountable daily (ask any one of them) but I have NEVER done it by shaming, guilting, insulting, bullying them or bringing their families into it, or lying. So, Seth... I hope you take this negative review and learn from it. Be better, do better and help people by building them up not tearing them down and most important BE HONEST!!! Maybe take some courses on professionalism, human decency and how to motivate without bullying or shaming and how to meet clients where they are at. I honestly, despite all this wish Seth and his business/team all the best but you lost my business and I certainly won't be recommending anyone to go there because no one deserves to be treated the way I was and sadly I fear that I was not the only one with similar experiences and if this does not change, I won't be the last. Good luck and god bless!
