Gym is very clean. Months rate is reasonable. Hours should be longer on weekends. They should at least be open till 6pm.

As someone who is very picky about how they workout, this gym is top notch. From their incredible trainers, to their state of the art equipment, to the variety of classes (for all ages and fitness levels!) to the cleanliness and friendly staff, I cannot recommend this gym enough. And it's SO affordable. I have the highest membership and it's cheaper than my daily coffee a day. 10000% recommend this gym. I have never loved fitness so much. read more

The facilities are fairly clean although the equipment is usually pretty crowded. Classes are OK but considering the cost as compared to competitors such as Orange Theory, is a decent value. My biggest area of concern is the management and staff, many of whom are extremely arrogant and have clearly received no training in customer satisfaction or experience. The prevailing attitude seems to be "if you don't like it, take your business elsewhere," which I just may do. Perhaps management and staff derive their arrogance and feeling of invincibility from the crowded gym floor and classes. I am guessing most of them are too young to remember such subscription service companies as AOL, CompuServe, Blockbuster, and so many others who thought they too had a service that people just could not live without. UPDATE: To Vent's credit, I was contacted by email this morning by Vent's Niskayuna branch manager, kindly apologizing for not calling directly and apologizing for my negative experience. The email explained the rationale behind the fee -- in words or substance suggesting that card numbers are changing frequently (likely because if the increase in identity fraud and data breaches). WORST GYM/HEALTH CLUB EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFETIME! I've been working out formerly since 18, now 41 years later, 30 gyms as well, I'm not believing what SCUMBAGS VENT has in charge. It as 5:35pm on a sat., I walked in for a sauna and "maybe" legs as my entire upper body was fried. He said $25.00, and I thought he should've let me sauna for 20 min. free, this was not the first time I've used their day program. But I needed "anything " as I lost 20 lbs bcoz of surgeries. After my sauna I felt a tad better, so I went to cardio, 3 minutes in, they announced closing time of 6pm? They advertise 7pm on Saturdays! He never told me prior to taking my $25 bucks they were closing early, and he refused my strongest request for a reimbursement! VENT Fitness - The absolute Scumbag and ASS whole mngr of vent! - Gyms Near Me - Niskayuna, New York

After joining in August, Vent Fitness of Niskayuna may not be as large as the Guilderland location but truly makes up for it. Compared to the other three Vent locations around the capital region this one truly is my favorite and most professional. Note: I can't review the daycare or variety of classes because I don't use them but I hear their great. Parking spots are always available which recently got repaved so no pot holes. They even have speed bumps. The staff by far is the best,always helpful and friendly. Greetings and goodbyes are never negative from anyone compared to other locations and gyms around the area. I never seen a men's locker room so clean before at a gym in New York State. The fact there are NEVER odors or junk on the floor is amazing, the staff has a great cleaning cycle. Now, the main floor can be separated into three sections. One section is committed to cardio with your bikes/treadmills evenly spread out. The second section has your free weights, tires/ boards to jump on in a separate carpeted area. Also has smith machines and a decent amount of bench press equipment for minimum waiting during rush hour. The third section has your cables and weight machines that work a variety of body parts. The only minor flaw this place has on the floor is near the free weight area. It's very small compared to its other locations such as Latham but the members make up for it. Another reason I love this location, most members have proper mannerisms So waiting to find a spot with those weights or not hitting someone with a weight is very rare here. Also compared to best fitness and planet fitness ALL the members of vent mind their own business but are extremely friendly when it comes to sharing and joining into a set. Never had a rude person male or female that judges or criticizes anyone. So Niskayuna may be a smaller location but definitely makes up for it with a great atmosphere and incredible staff read more

I was very tenative to return to the gym when they re-opened however, Vent Niskayuna location has put so many precautions into place to protect their members, and my experience so far has been so positive, that I needed to leave a review. If members are visibly sick, or experiencing any symptoms of being sick, they are asked to stay away from the gym and it looks like people have been responsible about this. Pat Washington is the most sincere, compassionate, caring, empathetic and patient Manager that you will find - and this location is thriving under her leadership. Glad to be back! read more

I canceled my membership and gave the required 30 day notice. I still got billed and was told they processed the cancellation 2 days after I canceled which put it at 28 days. I said I did my part and shouldn't be penalized. I'm still waiting for this to be resolved I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone. read more

I called Best Fitness and guy couldn't even answer if how much a month-to-month is said I had to come in, I felt like he was just lookig to up-selling. i said t him "so you refuse to tell me even an estimate" and he kept going on how I need to take a 14 day free membership and he will tell me then. I called VENT and Deidre answered all my questions, complete transparency in everything. I felt VENT keeps it real and treats a customer like a person not $ sign. Clean and bright, typical corporate-feeling gym with a decent amount of equipment and classes -- depending on what time of day you go. Generally friendly staff. If you ask anyone anything about fees, prices, or memberships, get the answer in writing because you will get a different answer next time which is super frustrating. read more

VENT went from 5 stars down to 1 after the car dealership Lia family took it over. I was a gym enthusiast, working out regularly, loving their level III classes. They ruined level 3 and level 2 by removing many of the best classes. On the weekends, I am lucky if i can find 2 classes. Today the TVs weren't working. They've gone downhill. My next move is out the door. It's a shame Lia ruined my favorite gym. I'm going to miss it. read more

I have been a member of Golds/Vent for nearly 20 years. Every year I look forward to an extended workout on Thanksgiving. Vent always delivered this option at most of their locations. Last year I did a two hour spin with a great instructor, Taylor A. As Thanksgiving is fast approaching I asked about the 2 hour spin. Taylor said she could only do a 1 hour spin on Thanksgiving, so disappointed, need to burn a few extra calories on this day for sure. Poor customer service. The staff definitely has their favorites and if you're not one of them, they probably won't talk to you. Several times on my way in or out when I say "hello" or "have nice night" it is returned with silence. There are some nice workers but not enough to fix this problem. The gym is clean and the machines are fine, but for the price the staff should work on customer service. I emailed the gym about a rude staff member and they never returned my email, so they are clearly not concerned about how their staff treats the non-favorites. read more

I tried to terminate my level 3 membership and they told me that it will be $79 for early termination fee and ask for how long is the process the girl there told me it will take effect immediately but then they keep charging me $60 point something until now and i called the gym and the other lady said it will take effect for 30 days and it said there in the paper and they will billed me the $79 for the fee but until now it hasnt been terminated. I would like to start off saying that they don't even deserve a star. I am only giving them a star because the website requires me to. First of all, vent fitness' website is a piece of garbage. According to the website, I had an overdue payment of $24. However, when I contacted their customer service, I was very surprised to hear that I had to pay over $50 instead of 24. Essentially, I was getting charged twice for a late fee that I didn't know about. One from vent themselves, and another fee from a company called ABC. I have reviewed vent's terms and conditions, and I was not able to find anything that had to do with double jeopardizing late fees. Also, since I make all of my transactions online, it is impossible for me to pay off the unjust late fees because the website simply doesn't allow me to. I think it's very unjust for a private company to purposely lock up their customers in this horrendous cycle. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. read more

Been a member since good old days of Gold's Gym. If this review is for the instuctors, I would give it 5 stars. The classes and instructors are awesome. But the front desk staff is mostly clueless, condescending and unhelpful. With the introduction of the fancy new app, zillions of not so transparent rules and always a brand new staff, it is very frustrating and annoying. Cannot recommend anyone until the staff is more professional, understanding and knowledgeable. read more

I have been a member a Vent Fitness for approximately 1 month and am so pleased with the facility and staff. My purpose for writing this is so that the young man who does the janitorial duties during the day is acknowledged and commended on the superb job he does everyday to maintain a clean environment at the gym. He is consistent and thorough at maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the restrooms, fitness machines, floors \ rubber mats etc. In this environment, it is an ever ending battle to maintain clean and sanitary conditions, because a majority of the members in my opinion disregard common custody ( disposing of paper towels, tissue in the proper manner,to include sanitary wipes for fitness machines) which I have observed. I am requesting that this individual be acknowledged in writing for the outstanding job he does, and that a copy be put in his personal history folder for future reference and employment opportunities should they arise. First when you open a membership they tell you there is no canceling fee anytime you want you can cancel when I went there I wanted to cancel my membership when I told them they told me to pay $59.99 +$19.99+$30.00 they charge me that much when at first they say there is no canceling fee they charge to much and they make fake reasons why they charge you and they don't tell you at the beginning so this was a surprise for me and I was so disappointed with them because they did not tell me they were gonna charge so much. read more
