Grape leaves and koosa (stuffed squash) with lamb

Run don't walk to this restaurant for a truly authentic, homestyle Palestinian meal. Love that they have a rotating special entree of the day that you can feel the time and attention went into. We went on a Tuesday, so we got the stuffed grape leaves and koosa (squash). Outstanding! Muhammara, tabouli, and kibbeh as sides were all good too, with the muhammara being my personal favorite. Pita bread wasn't warm, which would be my only requested improvement. Also wish our water came in a glasses instead of plastic water bottles as I prefer not adding to the insane amount of plastic waste on earth. Food was a great value and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with traditional Palestinian touches.

Great food, service, clean, family oriented. The Labneh is the best I ever tasted, homemade.

Walla when I tell you the mansaf took me back to being a child on my grandfathers property in Palestine. I am a huge foodie and picky when it comes to Arabic food because if you experience home cooked Palestinian food it's hard to enjoy other Arabic cuisine. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. This was worth the hour drive from LA. Thank you for filling my heart and stomach

Had a great dinner here with friends. Food was very tasty (see pics for items). I don't recall all of them but I really liked the lamb rice dish (?Kabseh with lamb). Service was friendly and felt like I was at someone's house rather than a restaurant. Owner let our group stay late for our book club meeting after our meal which was much appreciated.

    Makluba (Monday Only), Kebab

Had the Monday special (Makluba) and kebab plate. The rice with the Makluba was so flavorful with delicious eggplant and cauliflower and the chicken was falling off the bone. Kebab meat was nice and juicy. Really hit the spot after a long day walking around Disneyland. Staff was friendly and it was easy to order. Loved trying something new and all the Palestinian decor.

We came on Saturday and got the mshakhan (one of the specials) which came with a cucumber salad in yogurt and also got sambousek. The chicken in the mshakhan was a little dry and not as flavorful as I expected. But the bread it was served on, with those delicious caramelized onions made up for it. As long as I got a bite of everything, I felt pretty satisfied. With the sambousek I expected beef and cheese, so I think I misread the menu. They were just cheese. Delicious because it's a fried dumpling with cheese, but nothing special. For a drink, we got the bottle flavored sodas and they were solid. The owners were really friendly. The place was very clean, including the bathroom. I would come back.

Restaurant located in Anaheim's Little Arabia area that serves primarily Palestinian food. I've only recently learned of the Little Arabia area (at least in name) recently and this spot is such a gem within the neighborhood. Great food at more than reasonable prices and generous portions. Oh and I think they do shawarma out front on Saturdays (not sure if they do it more often, but trompos were in full effect out front) The vibe here is like a small cafe/ family kitchen. The folks here treat you - as soon as you walk in the door - like familiar friends. There was a slight language barrier that wasn't a big deal, but it helped that the ordering style is through a touch screen at the counter with the person there help guiding our ordering. There were three of us and we were maybe a little over excited with ordering. The person helping us had to warn us that we may be ordering too much (which we did because we had lots of leftovers). We ordered: - Muhammara - dip made of walnuts, red bell peppers, pomegranate molasses, and breadcrumbs. Sweet and savory dip that I loved. My buddy wasn't a huge fan because they don't like red bell peppers in general. - Moutabal - wonderful roasted eggplant dip - great with the pita given to you - Mansaf (on the menu, there's a 'Friday', which I can only assume they don' t make this dish every evening. It's bone in lamb shank cooked in a yogurt sauce served with rice. Savory and delicious. Type of food that's right up my ally (I love stews) - Kufta (or kofta(?) with tomato sauce) - another savory, comforting food that is right up my alley. Great flavors here that soaks up into the potatoes as well as the meat patties - Shish Barak - meat filled dumplings served in a yogurt sauce/soup. More delicious comfort food in our large feast. Might be an obscure reference, but reminds me of a wonderful soup I loved at a now shut down spot named Spoon by H in Ktown-LA. I just absolutely love restaurants like this - essentially smaller mom/pop or family run type places that serve up what seem to be genuine representations of their cultures. A place that I wish was closer to me because I can see myself coming back often. In terms of parking, there is a lot allocated to this strip mall, but there are a lot of businesses so it gets pretty crowded. Depending on the time of day/night, it doesn't feel like you would an issue finding parking.

    stuffed falafel
    Serene A.

Tried Albaraka for the first time and ordered the stuffed falafels, mansaf, fatteh, and musakhan, every single dish was outstanding. The mansaf was rich, tender, and packed with flavor. Great falafels!!!! The lamb fell apart effortlessly, and the tangy yogurt sauce over the rice was perfectly balanced. A true comfort dish done right. The fatteh was layered and delicious, with warm chickpeas, crispy bread, and creamy yogurt topped with pine nuts and spices. So satisfying and texturally perfect. And the musakhan? Easily one of the best I've had. The chicken was juicy and well-spiced, served over sumac-drenched onions and soft taboon bread. It tasted homemade in the best way. The staff was kind and welcoming, and the portions were generous. You can tell there's a lot of heart behind this place. Highly recommend if you're craving real Palestinian cooking. It's a gem! They have a good amount of seating and nice decor around and you can either order at a tablet in front or speak with staff. Truly made me feel like I was back visiting my family in the homeland!

My dining experience at Al Baraka was spectacular to say the least. We had the grape leaves, the hummus, the yogurt dip, Kufta, Kibbeh Labanieh and the Musakhan. Each had such distinct flavors blending ingredients I've never had mixed before. All of the dishes were 10/10 and the Kufta was #1. The manager the night we came was very helpful and explained all the specials and meals. His recommendations came out to be everything he explained and more. He was so kind and gave us tea with and pound cake at the end of the meal for no charge. We overall had an amazing time and the restaurant was beautiful. So much art with history and beautiful messaging throughout. I highly recommend you come and bring a group. Was definitely a meal meant to be shared!

A hole in the wall in the heart of Little Arabia. This is my second time trying Palestinian Cuisine, and Albaraka exceded my expectations. Aside from great food, the service was also fantastic. The restaurant is small and welcoming and even has a side window for shawarma (definitely coming back for that) The man, who I assume is the owner, was very helpful with the menu when we were ordering, and attentive throughout our stay. We had two large entrees and two sides for less than $100, and between 4 people, we still had enough to take home. We ordered the shish barak and musakhan as our main dishes with a side of ground meat topped hummus and kibbeh. Our meals came with a serving of pita and a small dish of pickles and olives. The shish barak caught me by surprise, they are small, meat stuffed dough balls (think dumplings or ravioli) in a yogurt and herb sauce served w rice. Absolutely phenomenal. The Musakhan was also delicious. One thing to note is, because they are a small, family-owned business, their menu operates on a weekly rotation. We went on a Sunday and the Musakhan is a Saturday item. They say closed mouths don't get fed, and i was hungry, so i asked about it and luckily they were able to do it for us. I would recommend going on a Saturday though, or trying the Sunday special, i'm sure it's delicious as well.

    Kufta with Tomato
    Samantha G.

I really enjoyed the chicken kabobs with rice, hummus, and salad. So much flavor and the chicken was juicy! The kufta with the tomato sauce didn't have enough flavor for me but it was okay. It comes with pita bread and side of pickles and pickled veggies.

Albaraka is so amazing words can't do it justice. The meat is so juicy and tender, the hummus creamy and full of flavor, the most moist falafel I've ever had. The staff is kind and helpful. I can't recommend enough, I dream of this meal.

For two, we ordered the "individual portions" of Mandi Chicken (young chicken roasted with Yemeni spices) & Lalamb Haneeth (a roasted young lamb that falls off the bone). These were both served over a large platter of Mandi rice and came with Yemeni sauce and yogurt. It was expertly made, yet still gave us the warmth of a homestyle meal. The generous portions resulted in a second meal for me! On a Tuesday night, this place was quite packed with friends and families. It seems like wonderful place to host parties or business meetings. Someone nearby us had a birthday, and a group of staff came out with a dessert, blasting a traditional birthday song over the speakers and encouraged the whole restaurant to clap along! Cairo Restaurant & Cafe - Anaheim Rating: (5/5)…read more I ordered from Cairo Restaurant & Cafe through Uber Eats, and this ended up being one of the most meaningful food experiences I've had in a long time. For context, I come from Egyptian heritage. I'm first-generation American, and both of my parents grew up in Cairo. The dishes I ordered -- Hawashy as an appetizer and Makaroni Bechamel (Bashmil) casserole -- are foods I grew up with. The last time I had this exact meal cooked for me by my mother was several years ago, so placing this order felt like a gamble, especially with the restaurant being all the way in Anaheim while I live in Irvine. That gamble paid off immediately. From the very first bite, the food tasted unmistakably authentic. The hawashy was deeply seasoned, rich, and comforting -- exactly how it's supposed to be, not watered down or adjusted for convenience. The makaroni bechamel was the real emotional gut punch in the best way possible. Creamy, savory, perfectly spiced, and layered the way it's done back home. It tasted like something made with care, patience, and respect for the dish. I'm not exaggerating when I say this meal hit me hard. After one bite, I literally called the restaurant just to thank them. I asked to speak to the manager and told him what this meal meant to me -- how it tasted like something my own mother would make, how it brought back memories I didn't realize I'd been missing. That call wasn't planned. It was instinctive. Huge shout-out to Zayne, the manager, who was incredibly kind and generous on the phone. He even sent along kunafa for dessert, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- warm, sweet, and beautifully made. Beyond the food itself, the packaging deserves real praise. Everything arrived hot, which is not easy, especially for a casserole like makaroni bechamel. Once that dish cools too much, it loses something important. This didn't. It arrived as if it had just come out of the oven, which speaks volumes about the care taken in preparing orders for delivery. This is not a 5-star review because of nostalgia or heritage alone. It's a 5-star review because the food was genuinely outstanding -- rich, decadent, comforting, and made the right way. It is very hard for me to say that something compares to my mother's cooking, but this truly came close. I cannot wait to come in person in the next few weeks. Cairo Restaurant & Cafe didn't just serve food -- they delivered a memory.
