I'm so happy we heard about this restaurant. We drove nearly an hour to try their famously delicious food. The food is so delicious and they serve it with in house made bread . The lady who served us was so incredibly sweet and friendly . We were served quickly even though there was a party of 20 people at the table behind us. We can't wait to go back again. It's too bad the restaurant is so far from where we live. But it is worth the drive. read more

Every time I visit, the bread tastes like it just came out of the oven -- warm, fresh, and made with care. This place has been around for over 20 years, and there's a reason loyal customers like me keep coming back. Came here on Friday with coworkers at around 11:30 am for lunch. They had just opened so the place was empty. We got 2 orders of the feast for 4 which came with a side salad for each person and unlimited tandoori bread. Their bread is the best you can get from a Mediterranean spot, it has crispy bits while being doughy from the inside. It's best eaten while fresh so we dug in right away pairing it with their hummus. Hummus was ok. The meat was seasoned and flavorful but a bit more on the dry side. I asked for some toum (garlic sauce) and that paired nicely with the chicken. The salad also complimented the bbq and brought the flavors together. I would say the bread is worth coming here to try. The food wasn't bad either, but I've had better. They need to have some music playing in the background to eliminate the awkward silence as it was super quiet inside while our party was eating. 8/10 read more

My family and I visited Al Tannour for Iftar during Ramadan because we heard some great things about it. The hype lived up to its name! I was actually surprised there weren't more people because at $30 a person for the buffett, and the selection that was provided to us (on top of the wonderful and beautiful service), we were blown away by our entire experience! The staff and amoo were so gracious and kind! If you're looking for an Iftar outing with family, or any day - highly recommend this beautiful cute restaurant. Service is terrible! We just say down , ordered food. The food took awhile to bring out to our table. We barely touch anything yet and a lady came and ask if we need a box! Less than 10 minutes while we are eating she came and asks again if we need a box! Another 10 minutes she came and asks again if we need a box! Oh, the restaurant only us dine in there, nobody else , means it's not busy. What kind of restaurant and what type of service is this?! For the 4th time she came and asks if we need a box !!! Yes, please bring a box, enough of the impolite service. And then after we boxed the food. She came clean the plates away and ask us if we could leave because she needs the table!!! Are you waiting for your friend coming from the bathroom? (My friend just came back at the right time when she asks that question!) Wow. The food was very flavorful, and the hype about the bread is REAL! I underestimated the portion here... We ordered the Tashreeb, kebab, tekka, and hummus. Be aware that the tashreeb comes with A LOT of bread, so come with a big appetite. The kebab was super flavorful, a little bit salty for my personal taste. Updated::: Husband and I order the feast for 4 for the two of us so that we can have more for later because it's THAT GOOD. It comes with chicken and beef kebab and tekka, hummus, bread, and a salad. So so good. And the staff are so friendly, the patrons are friendlier. Def a spot to go eat good food. read more

This place is a gem. I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints when it comes to taste. Today I placed my order for carry out over the phone. Unfortunately my bread was cold and I noticed it had been sitting out for a while. I would recommend providing it in the aluminum tin to keep it warm vs the plastic bag. Everything else was perfect! I had a lunch there today with a friend and to be honest with you I enjoyed the fish (Masgoof) and beef kebab they were more than delicious which made me to order second round. Nice service and clean environment. I wish I was closer to them so I can visit them more often. I live an hour away from them. For sure I'll visit them again. read more

We were there yesterday for the lunch. We come to this place whenever we are heading to Anaheim area or Newport Beach since we live in Calabasas. My wife loves the Iraqi fish maskoof. I typically order the kebab with rice and the beans and okra stew. It comes with an Iraqi baked bread that they served out of the oven fresh to your table . If this place close to my area, I will visit once a week at least. The people serving and the owner are very nice. My kids love it as well . read more

We came in close to when they were closing so we unfortunately were not able to order much of the menu items. I love that the entree I ordered was served with this delicious warm bread. The veggies and hummus were the perfect accompaniment to both the bread and the kabob that we ordered. Pretty tasty but I would need to come back to taste other menu items. I really wanted to taste the Mansaf and Musakhan. Definitely coming back for the authentic Iraqi experience. read more

The lamb stew was absolutely delicious, rich, warm ,savory, and full of comforting spices. The chicken was tender and flavorful, served over fragrant basmati rice that soaked up all those wonderful flavors. One thing I really enjoyed about this restaurant is the atmosphere. There is plenty of seating, plus a special traditional dining area where you can sit on the floor and enjoy your meal in a more authentic setting. That area does require a reservation, so keep that in mind if you want to experience it. Which would be fine for a group! If you've never tried Yemeni food, this is definitely a cuisine worth exploring! I love trying new foods, and this was such a delicious experience.

I've been coming here about twice a month for the last couple months. Everytime i order a kabob sandwhich. The sandwich taste ok, its just convenient. I usually call 15 min. before arrival because i dont like to wait too long. Everytime i get there not only that its never ready, but i also have to wait an additional 15 to 20 min. more. Whats kinda funny is its never busy there but yet it take them minimum of 35 minute to make a sandwich. So finally today i didnt bother to call ahead and just show up and order the usuall. The whole time am sitting there, the girl who usually make the sandwich didnt even bother getting started on making it, yet she walks around and chit chatting with other customer. Long story short, i got out of there 50 minute later for a kabob sandwhich. A sandwich shoulnt take almost an hour to make. Am also a business owner, and my priority is always take care of the customer first before chit chatting. Terrible terrible customer service. Never come back! read more

One star is only for the owner who is nice and the food, but on the most important and busiest day I go and pick up food from them, and the Iraqi girl working in the kitchen treats me like trash. I call first to make the order and she yells at me to look at the menu and choose when I was inquiring about the plates. She was so rude. I made an order for pick up and when I arrive she makes me wait extra time and rushes me so quick and says that she is busy because they are preparing for a party. I never seen such horrible and rude customer service. Made me so stressed and this is the last time I come to this place. I am not paying to be treated like trash. Oh and she gives me the food without utensils or napkins when I needed them so bad since I was traveling. read more

My go to comfy place when I'm craving for beef kabob. Very authentic Middle Eastern taste and none of that commercialize taste. Good serving with fresh salad and a gigantic Khubz bread (made to order), good for two people! Its to die for! Also had the baba ganouh (eggplant dish mixed in tahini sauce, and doesn't have a sour taste that tahini is known for), so good with the Khubz bread. I got full by that dish alone. By far the best middle eastern joint in OC. They have big portions and reasonable prices. You will definitely get your money's worth. As a Turkish guy and someone who grew up in the restaurant business, I am critical of middle eastern restaurants since especially Arabic spices tend to be a little overpowering to my taste buds but this place uses the right amount of seasoning and lets either the chicken or the beef do the talking. Ok- my friend and I came here because we were nearby for a work conference and didn't want the regular American fare. Lemme tell ya, the best Mediterranean food I've had in a while. Whoever yelped on the best homemade pita bread was so spot on! Warm and fresh, nothing compares. I had the regular new kabob plate. Yum! The meat was flavorful and delicious.
