This place got better since the last time I visited! Looks like they went through a renovation, which now includes much more seating, inside and outside. There were a good number of families eating when I got there. They were busy! The best thing to do is order and if you need to get something from the store, do that! I always pass by this place and the flatbreads being fired up on their ovens smells delicious as you walk by. I decided to finally try it out. I don't eat much Middle Eastern cuisine, so I had asked for their most popular items on the menu. I was recommended the Zaatar & Cheese ($6.50) flatbread, which consists of dried thyme, sumac, sesame, seeds with vegetable and olive oil, and their special blend of cheese. The order took about 10 minutes to be ready with a few people in front of me. The flatbread is nice and fluffy, but the toppings were just okay in my opinion. The cheese hardened a bit, which made it chewy. I felt like I could use a dip or something. It's worth a try, but not something I'd likely return for. read more

I came here looking for a different local pizza option, which ended up being tasty flatbreads. Then I realized they can wrap any flatbread and now my go-to is a Soujouk wrap. I honestly have no idea what Soujouk is. It's spicy and filling, the bread is crispy and served with pickles. I don't care to know more, it's awesome. Ordering ahead of time is easy enough with a phone call. Service is quick. My easy on the go meal when I'm headed out. I think I'll have to try the cheese triangles next time based on the reviews. read more

It's a humble bakery with a handful of chairs & tables & mostly for take out orders, but they have great flatbreads & pastries. We ordered many different items as it was hard to chose! Everything was so delicious. The crust of their flatbreads are so light & cooked to perfection. The cheese triangles were a big hit & the zatar & cheese flatbread was a winning combination too. It's not often we find Kashek on a menu so we enjoyed that too. Sfiha & Kofta flatbreads were also very tasty. We would definitely return! read more

When I took my first bite of each mana2eesh, oh my god it was SO SO good. By far the best place I have tried in Anaheim, maybe even in OC. It literally cured my week long depression. Each bite was so good. We ordered six more to go to put them in our freezer. The service was quick too! Ooof Warm, fresh breads What more could a fairy ask for? This is a small, quaint bakery nestled in the heart of Anaheim's Little Arabia. There is seating both inside and outside this lovely establishment. If you are in the mood for manaeesh - little Arab pizzas that are on a totally different level than American pizzas - this is a solid option. They also have other options, inlcuding foul, calzones, and a labne plate (served with vegetables). Their Zaatar bread is thickkk, warm, and fluffy and the way the olive oil melts onto it in conjunction with the subtle citrus undertones of the Zaatar is just a culinary experience beyond any other. I love that they served their kafta with pickles and tomatoes because it just completes the experience. You can order them rolled into a wrap or on the side. The service was pleasant and kind. They have imported juices and sodas that complement their foods really well and provide the perfect cold accompaniment to a warm meal. One note that I do have for them is that the manaeesh might be better served in another container, the way it is served at places like Forn Al Hara to respect the integrity of the bread rather than rolling them up into burrito/shawarma like rolls. I also felt that especially when considering to-go orders for items like the Zaatar, the packaging should have differed, as the rolls in paper dropped into a brown paper bag was messy, sloppy, and a recipe for disaster. The oil immediately soaked the bag and there is really no where "to go" with a disintegrated paper bag, save for your unsuspecting car who didn't do anything to deserve being soiled by your meal. read more

We were all out & about driving through Lil Arabia. We weren't terribly hungry but something to eat sounded good. I am not a fan of pizza with super thick crust so this was very tasty. TBH I thought the zaatar & cheese was gonna be very plain (I am not a fan of cheese pizza) but to my surprise it was very flavorful. Eahch had its own unique taste, even the pizza one was good. Always good, but the service isn't great, especially if you don't know Arabic in my opinion. Which I hate to say. I have been coming here since I came from Canada. My dad always loved it, and he knew Arabic so we always got great service. I don't, just Assyrian so sometimes it takes forever to get the food. That being said you can't go wrong with anything they make. Don't get the pizza, that's like going to a Chinese place and getting a burger in my opinion. read more

I've been going to al amir since i was probably three or four years old, the food is actually incredible and so is the service!! i recommend to everyone i send there the lahm bajeen, egg and cheese, kafta and cheese, and the spinach triangles. they recently remodeled to a newer more modern look, but it doesn't change that homey feeling the place has always carried. 10/10 for sure read more

Al Amir bakery serves up authentic Middle Eastern flatbreads (Mana'eesh). They resemble a personal pizza, though they are extremely thin. Toppings include various meats, cheese, and herbs. All the food served here is HALAL and I decided to try several items: Zaatar and Cheese ($4.75) - This is one of my favorite flatbreads and I regularly make this at home. Zaatar is made up of dried oregano, thyme, and/or marjoram, with sumac and toasted sesame seeds and pairs nicely with cheese. All the flatbreads I tried here were so fresh and aromatic and tasted incredible. Kafta and Cheese ($7.75) - This consisted of ground beef and cheese and is a good option if you want to have meat in your flat bread. Sojouk and Cheese ($7.75) - This is just like the kafta and cheese flatbread, except the ground beef here is slightly spicy and provides for a nice bit of kick for those that think the kafta is too plain. Hummus ($7.50) - The hummus here is creamy, rich and tastes pretty good. It however only comes with one freshly made pita bread and for the given portion size I thought pricing was about average for the area. Overall I really enjoyed the baked goods here at Al Amir Bakery. They also offer mini flatbreads (2" in diameter), and sell these by the dozen. They make for great appetizers. This shop is open 7 days a week from 8am till about 9 or 10pm. It's extremely popular, but service is fast and efficient, and everything is freshly baked. There's plenty of parking, and they take credit cards and cash. read more
