This is one of my go to spots! The service is always friendly and fast. I always find it a little chilly inside the building which is a PLUS for me. The food is great! When I eat here with my family of four, we normally share the mezza for 3 and always bring home leftovers! When I'm here just catching up with a friend I normally opt for the combination plate, but have tried so many items from their menu and all have been fantastic. I especially love the Lebanese tea. I ordered dinner for the family this past weekend. I ordered my go to Gyro. It was amazing and the lamb was so tender. My wife ordered the salmon.I don't usually like salmon but this was one of the best things I have ever tasted. Not sure if it was baked or cooked in a skillet, but the garlic and butter flavor was amazing. I may have to order that next time. Food was hot and great as always! They have a foreign older lady taking orders who can't really comprehend English! There were several ppl behind the bar who could understand English and never stepped in to assist. This was our first time there so we had a couple questions before ordering. She wrote down our order as we told her, repeated most of the order and still put in the wrong order. Let's be clear I came there with a well known celebrity that wanted to try this location and this was a horrible experience. Nobody knew this individual because of the mask and shades. I'm visiting friends in town and they recommended Alabasha's - I can see why! The food was delicious. We started with grape leaves and a cucumber yogurt dip as an appetizer. I like mine to be a little more tart, so I squirted on the lemon they provided and it was perfect. I ordered the Gyros Plate for $12.50. That is usually outside of my normal range but they provided so much food that you felt like it was a steal. Served was a hefty portion of sliced gyro, a side salad with feta, raw onions, a side of rice, a scoop of hummus AND a side basket of warm pita bread!!! Highly recommend. read more

They sometimes have really incredible sales here, like seriously good sales. I don't do much of my shopping here because I've had a couple terrible experiences with their meat and refuse to purchase it. They do have a fantastic beer and wine selection and some really cool produce (fresh potato fries, sliced zucchini, etc). First time really ordering from a Greek restaurant. I was not disappointed. Honestly I trying to figure out why they deserve 4 stars instead of 5the food was awesome. The gyro plate was great with humas and that awesome sauce that tastes like the essence of a "salad" seriously that sauce I forget the name is like a fresh salad with ranch turned into a sauce. It tastes so good. We also had the chicken shawarma as well along with 3 deserts which. Ok now I remember why I can't give 5 stars. The pita bread just wasn't up to my standards. If you have had pita bread from Zeas over by the town center then you know great pita bread. It was average at best here. The baklava was cold and I didn't like it (first time trying it). The ashta was also cold but better than the baklava but nothing I'd order again. As for the tiramisu well....it just tasted like vanilla ice cream (first time trying this) so I can't rate it against any other version of the dish but it was average . The Lebanese tea was a hit with me. I love it. It tastes like a floral sweet tea. Which is weird but so refreshing with the rest of the flavors. Also with the plates each came with a rice and pea mixture(flavorless) I'll probably sub that out next time. Each plate also came with a side Greek salad which is exactly what it is nothing more nothing less. The Eggplant moussaka paired with a crispy kibbi ball were the perfect balance of soft and crunchy. But I have to say the kibbi ball was my favorite. The pine nuts gave a delicate flavor while the crispy shell was both delectable to the ear as well as the palate. Food is always good. Problem with getting proper change back when paying cash. My change was $20 short. When I got the waiters attention, I told him my change was wrong and he just said "my bad" and went to the register before I could explain what the difference was. He came back with the $20 bill, but I never told him the amount it was wrong. This leads me to believe it was a deliberate act. read more

This is the best Albasha location in the Baton Rouge area hands down. Go get the albasha platter with lamb and get a little taste of everything. I love how everything is done well including even the onions. If you are lucky somedays they will be sweet and easy to eat. Kibi, grape leaves and the fried cheese are all dope. I have been coming here for years and have never eaten anything I didn't love. The service is quick and the staff polite. For starters, the fried cheese and grape leaves are great. Their lentil soup with a hint of lemon helps warm you up on a cool day. My favorite dish is probably the combination chicken and gyros platter. Our waiter was incredibly friendly. He joked around with us and made helpful recommendations on what to order. We had the meat stuffed grape leaves as an appetizer. Both my girlfriend and I loved them. For my meal I order medium rare broiled rack of lamb. It was cooked to perfection and tasted great. The only complaint that I can muster is that there was a little too much salt for my taste, but it wasn't enough to take away from the experience of this great restaurant. read more

My review is limited because I have only ordered carry out. The food is really great! You get ample portions at relatively fair pricing. They are a little more expensive than Arzi's but the portions are big. In no way is the pricing something to complain about. If you order two dinners you are going to get four takeout boxes of delicious food, usually. I say usually because the portions are not consistent. I have ordered several times the chicken/gyro combo platter and each time the portions have been a little different. But only once was I wondering why it wasn't more abundant. The kibbis and stuffed grape leaves are GREAT like most of the other stuff I have gotten from there. The sauces/hummus are great and all of their food is spiced nicely. I eat their food every month or so for a reason. With that said I always enjoy it on the weekend as opposed to casually ordering take out from them on a random weekday. read more
