During our stay in Venice I really wanted to stay near the sights and could not have picked a better location than the Londra for service and location.
We arrived in Venice at Santa Lucia and after easily finding a water taxi we were dropped off right in front of our hotel. It was great having a taxi stop so close by so we wouldn't have to try and haul our luggage all over the place like many other travelers. There is also a vaporetto stop right in front of the hotel if you don't feel like splurging on the water taxi.
When we checked in we were told there was a small computer problem, but I'm glad to say the lady didn't make us wait around and instead just took the normal passport copy and gave us our key. Our bags were taken and soon we were up in our room.
We had booked a junior suite and got one on the third floor overlooking the water. The room was decorated in a bit of an older style, but we really liked it. The bathroom though was modern and had plenty of room. I thought overlooking the busy area outside might make for a noisy night/morning, but this did not turn out to be true. We slept soundly both nights.
Service in the room was great. Turn down and daily service took place without us even knowing. The room was very clean when we arrived and the daily services were very nice.
Both mornings we enjoyed breakfast downstairs and this was a lovely way to start the morning. We had the same server both mornings and she did a great job of taking care of getting us some eggs and whatever coffee we wanted. The buffet was delicious and did a good job of starting off our days.
The service at this hotel is definitely top notch. We never stood around waiting and everyone really wanted to make sure we were comfortable and had a nice time in Venice.
If you're looking for a hotel with great service, that is right next to San Marco, the Hotel Londra is an excellent choice. If we return to Venice, the Londra will easily be at the top of our list of hotels once again. read more
