I have been purchasing the same burrito for about 7 years. And yes it has gone up in price a lot since I first have gotten it and has continued to, BUT! That has never changed the fact I have never continued to purchase it because it's just so delicious and great value! It's 1 burrito but cut in half it's basically 2!!! I have discovered a new gold mine for good tacos and Mexican food in South Gate. That gold mine is called Albert's Mexican food. It is located near a postal facility in South Gate. Dine in and take out is available. There is parking on the street and in a small private lot. Good is made fresh to order. I mainly come for the tacos. Most notably the Shredded Beef tacos. Among the best tacos I had outside of good street tacos. You can pay with cash or card. There is a 0.75 fee for debit/credit card use. Sometimes it gets busy. I have no problems coming to South Gate to get some good Mexican food, especially some good Shredded Beef tacos from this spot. read more

Friendly service & a quick drive thru from a spot just off of the road near Walmart, Albert's was just okay. The burrito I ordered was a lot of tortilla and not much filling. This place has gone beyond greedy. They are now charging for more than two sauces. This place used to allow you to serve your own sauce and now they're charging for more sauces, which is unfair unlike other Alberts or Albertos where you're able to serve yourself without any issues, also the lady upfront is rude. She did not know the prices of what she is supposed to charge. I miss the old Alberts that used to be at this location. Though the food proportion is okay. The Asada fries are a must as it can easily feed two hungry people, and the California burrito will leave you needing insulin as the carb overload enters your body. What makes this spot great is the really late night operating hours to satisfy craving so service is always great. ambiance is not really there but the food makes up for it. I've been going to Albert's since before it became a pretty big franchise. Their food is always spot-on. They hit the spot and they're not stingy with servings. The green chilaquiles are always fire and pretty much a staple every other Sunday or so. Burritos are also good. I also decided to try the chicharron plate recently and that was also surprisingly delicious. No matter what dish I get, I drench it with their red salsa picante. Quality has gone down and one of the two cashier's is rude she hung up on me when I called to let them know that they are serving COLD food. The food here is pretty good in my opinion. This is my go to spot for carne Asada fries. It's your basic "Mexican" food. The burrito was good but it just had guacamole and carne Asada. Doesn't look like much but did catch my attention when I drove by, the first time I had it the burrito was delicious but something about the second the burrito was a little on the cold side with the meat. The Third time going there I had a supreme quesadilla and my girlfriend had the nachos, it was not what I was expecting the quesadilla had very little cheese and was also on the cold side. At first glance, it's easy to see why people might come here and expect a great meal. Alberto's has a reputation for being the best. But if you take a closer look, you'll notice something off with the name, it says Albert's instead of Alberto's. After our meal, it all made sense. The rolled tacos were waaay too hard, the salsa too bland and the food didn't sit well with our stomach at all. We were disappointed that Alberto's had lowered their standard for food until we realized it wasn't Alberto's at all. So I'm mostly writing this as a 'user beware' type deal, seeing as Yelp has this down as 'Alberto's' instead of 'Albert's'. There will be Mexican food here! It just won't all be great. read more
