I am giving two stars as the work which we have had done in the past was done well However, I would not recommend Albertson Electric as it seems the owners and receptionist must have some other agenda or business they are more interested in. They do not respect or value their clients time. We had an in issue with landscape lighting that was originally fixed however two weeks later, the problem recurred. Another electrician came out and spent time and left with no resolution. We had no update or information I called numerous times and finally settled to have someone scheduled to come out again FOR THREE STRAIGHT WEEKS, I rescheduled patients in my office so I could wait for the electrician and for THREE STRAIGHT WEEKS, no one showed up, no one called, no one informed me they would not be coming. I am a physician and rearranged my schedule to meet with the electrician. I called each time and the receptionist was rude and unhelpful, and on the last no show occurrence, when I called to see what happened, she had me on hold for 10 minutes and then returned and flatly said, sorry no one put you on the schedule. I don't like to write bad reviews and try to support local businesses, so I even emailed the company to get their response to try and give them a chance to make amends and they have still never responded. Bottom line, Albertson Electric may have good electricians, but it seems the owners do not respect or value their clients time read more

CROOKS and LIARS. DO NOT USE. They didn't want to replace a simple broken socket belonging to a lighting fixture; the office staff was rude and only wanted your money. The electrician didn't clean up after himself and left screws and nuts from the broken fixture all over my backyard. NOT WORTH ONE STAR. read more

Family-owned business for years through the generations! They came and fixed a dimmer switch, changed out a breaker, took two lamps back to the shop to fix them and I didn't have to wait long to get them back. The service folks are polite, clean, and professional. They even have masks and booties. read more

I needed a GFI outlet installed under my kitchen sink and was referred by many happy friends, family & neighbors to call Albertson Electric. The electrician arrived at my home wearing a mask & glove. I moved into a new home wanted some work done for installing new outdoor lighting and a couple 40 amp circuits. These guys came out took them literally 3.5 full days - mess after mess. He wired it wrong and had to come back. Made an extra penetration. Didn't install one light correctly (left parts in the box). I called more than 4 times to speak to either Joe senior or Joe junior. Not once did they call me back. Only kept sending the same electrician assistant out. I chose them to have a reputable company do the work even though they were more than 25% higher than the others. Honestly, no better than a handyman. But next time I will go with someone I find on Angies or Yelp not these guys read more

Billed for work that was not done! Albertson billed us $4,345. for troubleshooting. After attempts to troubleshoot (that took two months), they wanted me to pay them $7,250., when I asked if this will "fix the problem", Joe told me that he could not guarantee and that it would be just a process of elimination. I then told him "no, thank you" The bill came for $4,345. I tried to reason, outlining that they never fixed or correctly troubleshooted. Sent a bill via email on Dec 27th, 2017 and on January 22nd, approximately 3 weeks later sent me a certified "Demand Letter" that the lawsuit will be brought. Who does that? Look elsewhere for electrical help. I called numerous times to speak to the owner, was always told he wasn't there (he is obviously NEVER there). The owner never returned calls. They make appointments that they don't keep nor call to tell you they are not coming. After paying close to $3000 over the course of a year for front lights in my home in Roslyn they still go off ! They have repeatedly sent electricians who claim they fix it but do not cannot and they still continue to want to bill for a job for 2 Nd rate electricians! Had some success with them previously but recently had a terrible experience. Showed up too late to finish everything and charged me a full hour for the last 30 minutes even though their guy refused to stay later. After speaking to the owner, he promised to have them come back to finish everything and they simply never showed up. Tried them numerous times and was assured someone was coming and nobody ever did. Beware! I called and requested an estimate for a 6-arm chandelier installation, 9 foot ceiling. I was told that "an estimate wasn't possible as it would depend on the time." The electrician was in our home for 45 minutes (unclear why the installation took this long) and I was charged $270. After 3 weeks and 2 phone calls, I received an explanation. The rate for all work is $135 for the first 30 minutes and $135 for the next hour. But, anything over 30 minutes is an additional $135. If someone had told me the rates when I asked on the phone, I would have had the electrician do additional work. This is the most expensive electrician we've ever had...and we lived in Manhattan for 12 years! read more

Had a great experience with this company. Heard good things about them from friends and had them come over to put in a transfer switch and outdoor outlet for a new portable Generac. Could not have been more pleased with their professionalism and efficiency. In and out in a couple of hours and leaving everything clean and back in its place. I called them as one of my outlets was dead. Electrician came to house insisted plugs were loose and changed them for $137.00. Several hours later stopped working. They came out again and charged an additional $145.00. When I questioned the bill the electrician insisted that he did not charge a second service charge but for his time. Called them in to determine why a light switch was not working. In 5 minutes it was determined that it needed to be replaced but was told they could not get the part from their supplier so they couldn't fix it. So I said if your supplier doesn't have it then get it somewhere else. I was told that they don't do that. Really ? I was charged for the visit even though they could not fix the problem that I called them in for. Are you serious ? In the ten-plus years we've owned a home in this part of Long Island, we've never used any electricians other than Albertson Electric, because we've simply never needed to. Having tried Albertson Electric early in our experience, we've always trusted them to do the best job at the fairest price in the most expedient manner possible--and they've never let us down once. The corps of Electricians who work for family-owners Joe and Larry (such good guys!) are each highly skilled and completely professional. Best of all, perhaps, Albertson Electric is the most reliable service fleet I've ever encountered. If they say they'll be there at a certain time, they're there; if there's any delay (and there seldom is) you get a phone call, period. If you live in Nassau County, you know by now just how rare this is. I've waited hours for service companies in other fields without so much as a voicemail. A lot of the credit for this has to go to Michelle, who manages the office better than any like professional I've ever encountered. I had made an appointment for these folks to come today between 8:30am and 12:30pm. I called at 11:30am to make sure they were coming. The female who answered the phone said the appointment got switched to the next day but they DID NOT call me to tell me. When I asked to speak to an owner, the female that works for them did not respond - she did apologize and said she could make an appointment the next day but I can't trust these people at this point. They claim they are on-time and won't make their customers wait... they have just proven themselves to be liars and inept. Call someone else! read more

Dishonest billing practices have led me to disqualify this company from my contractor pool. I had the same experience as another yelper, when I called to question a bill I was told the owner would get back to me and never did. They did a little bit of work, but actually had the audacity to bill me to asses another problem they could not fix and also for the time chatting with the technician. I recently contacted Albertson Electric to change the electrical service in my home. The technicians arrived on time and were very courteous. They took their time to explain to me exactly what was going to be done, and answered all my questions. They worked very carefully, and once the work was complete, they left my home as clean as it was prior to their arrival. I will continue to use them for any electrical needs I may have in the future.
