Not too many options in the five boroughs, but these guys really helped out. Very friendly service, they make sure you practiced a little before you go into the water with their own private pool and they double check to make sure your gear is all set. I dove at the Hampton Springs spot and it was really fun. Though the visibility is a little low underwater, it is a great place to practice and you can still see some stuff below the surface. He has been renovating and making updates over the past couple of years. This marina is clean and offers floating docks, an on-site bar that happened to have live music while we were there (the old Lyar's), a ship's store, fuel dock, laundry, ice, etc. We had many choices of marinas to stay at but this one topped our list when we saw how much work has been done to the place.
