I'm done with this store. Every visit I have to wait in line to dispute charges. The last straw is now their carts will not work when I park in the parking lot next to the store, only the one in front. I had a cart full of stuff and it's raining and I have to walk it all over without a cart. BOO. I'll drive the extra few miles and shop at Vons on Turnpike. BOO read more

BASIC STORE WITH EXTRAORDINARY WORKERS: This is a relatively small-sized Albertson's, and yet one of the busier locations due to it's prominent space in the Calle Real Center in Goleta. It's not fancy, and in fact, is likely overdue for a much-needed makeover. However, it's clean and the workers go out of their way to smile and extend a little cheer, despite their busy days. I have had the pleasure of getting to know a few of the checkers as I often find myself stocking up at this location. Things I would not change: ***Their lovely workers and their great attitude. Things I would change: *** More diversity of products (such as what I find at the Buellton Albertson's location). *** A much larger baked goods section or actually adding a small on-site bakery. Always well stocked and organized, and with outstanding cashier Carlos, and bagger Leonardo, we always look forward to our bi-weekly Albertsons visit. I was treated very poorly by Barbara while trying to buy a single bag of ice. She was very rude and quite disrespectful to me when I asked where the ice was kept. I have had several issues with her in the past. Another employee who I believe was a manager wore glasses and her hair in a ponytail came over and assisted me getting the ice. She apologized multiple times for Barbara's behavior and was very helpful and kind to me. Those are the type of people you should have working in a grocery store. I have spoke to friends and family and they have also been treated poorly by this cashier. She even talks down to her coworkers and it is very uncomfortable to be around. I have called the store to make complaints in the past regarding Barbara and her behaviour but they seem to go unnoticed. I work very hard for my money so when I go into a store to spend that money, I expect to be treated a certain way. At this point, I feel like it might be best that my family and I shop somewhere else as these issues have not been handled and I am still dealing with the same treatment. It is unnecessary and just mean. Maybe management needs to put her in the back so she won't have to deal with customers. I have been shopping at this store for the past 30 years and I'm not sure I will continue. Very sad considering it's such a small town and people talk. read more

Went to purchase a handful of items and had the hardest time maneuvering my cart up and down the aisles. Almost every aisle had someone stocking the shelves and none of them moved out of the way, nor did they move their cart of cases of food. Additionally, some of the shelf stockers had strewn their empty boxes in a disorderly fashion, making shopping difficult. The self checkout area was closed and the only cashier was a gentleman who didn't care to greet the customers as they checked out. He was silent. Is this store under new management? Well stocked grocery store, conveniently located off the 101 in Goleta. Parking lot is a little risky with quite a bit of traffic back and forth in the aisles and people backing out frequently but not as bad as in other parts of this shopping center. Good selection of product, fresh meats and general groceries. Staff was friendly and polite the times I visited. Prices are reasonable. read more

Seriously, this is the epitome of dingy, unfriendly markets. I say that with surprise because the Santa Barbara area has several nice markets. I gave the Albertsons off of Hollister a one star review, but this one is actually worse than that. Starting with sticky floors and unclean baskets is not a good sign. The shelves are high and narrow, making finding anything a bit of a chore. No one here is friendly, helpful, or willing to acknowledge you. I've come across so many employees with heads down walking around, visibly avoiding the gaze of customers. The lines are long, and there are rarely more than one or two cashiers working at a time. Speaking of the cashiers, they rarely say hi or even look at you. The one redeeming thing about this market is that it has a fairly good and diverse local wine selection. I was frankly surprised to see so many good wineries represented in this market's selection. With other, better markets (Nikka, Trader Joe's) in the same complex, I would avoid this one. read more

This is one of the worst grocery stores i have ever been to. although the staff is trying, there are very few of them. i came to get balloons for a friends birthday and waited at least 30 minutes for someone to be able to fill them up. We were waiting for about 5 minutes before someone came up to ask if we needed help, then she called someone to come over and help us as she didn't know how to do it. then when another staff member came a different customer went ahead of us and filled her balloons even though we had been waiting and we're the ones to get the balloon specialist over. Anyway, they popped one of our balloons and then finally, we were able to checkout and leave. All in all, a terrible experience read more

Small. Claustrophobic aisles here! I actually don't mind this Albertsons as much as the other location because it's not overrun with college students. There is no self-checkout that is a bit of a bummer but the employees aren't so bad here. I don't mind their small talk because here they actually acknowledge you! Albertsons has good prices, but produce is hit or miss. Be aware of that. read more

Produce is good, not great. They have most all of the dry goods I need and that's what keeps me coming back. Meat selection is solid. Their deli counter could use some help. EVERYONE over there is slow as molasses. They could all use a lesson in customer service, working quickly and less talking with their coworkers. Oh and avoid the chicken tenders. They are dry as a bone no matter what time of day you buy them. read more

I mean, Albertson's is okay as a grocery store i guess, BUT in Covid-19 times, i have NOT been happy with my experience there. The store management is NOT creating a safe environment for either shoppers or employees. The kid at the front door had his mask down at his chin, and although we are all supposed to have on a mask in stores, several people were allowed in without masks. Not good. Awful service.. asked to have a balloon/flower bouquet put together for my child's birthday and was treated poorly by the girl working there( I believe her name was Dora or Doris?). She seemed unamused, didn't ask what the occasion was for and had a condescending tone. Very sad to think that someone in their 20s ( just like me ) would be so upset or bitter for no apparent reason. Definitely shouldn't be near flowers or balloons with that attitude. read more

I used to frequent this place as a Gaucho ever since I lived in FT (F*&% Towers) which has been renamed to Catalina something I hear... anyways, this place was clutch this weekend when my sister who is 9 years my minor graduated from UCSB... we were supposed to make leis but we didn't have time and there were a bunch of cops (I'm talking 6 cop cars) parked outside an area where were thinking about picking some so we went to Costco and they had just sold out of leis... luckily Albertsons still had some. They were only $18.99 and were double leis (not just a single strand a more fuller version). We were stoked. I found out the cake we had the night before a graduation party was made at Albertson's (I'm guessing this one) and it was pretty delicious. Chocolate pudding and fresh strawberries sandwiched in between white cake and then iced with whipped cream. Awesome, fresh strawberries were unnecessary to me but added a nice touch... the cake was so soft and delicious almost reminded me of a Boston Cream Pie. The party had two cakes one half sheet pan and another full... it could have fed a hundred people... no joke. I was shocked to see a sushi take-out joint inside this Albertson's as well. Who rates grocery stores? We all should when we receive exceptional service when it's the least expected! Joshua in the meat department was the guy who did it for me today, offering me a friendly smile along with great customer service. All I wanted was a piece of salmon for my dinner, and he took the time to get me a prime piece of fish from behind the counter... and I didn't even ask for it! That made me so happy it didn't even phase me that the rank smell of the customer who walked past me followed me past 3 aisles... So thanks for making my trip to the grocery store such a positive experience, Joshua! He's helped me before in the past and was super nice every single time, so I figured it was my turn to go out of my way and do something nice for him as well. This is a decent Albertson's. I don't like the design though, the aisles are very narrow. The guy at the register on the evening of May 1st was nice enough to walk around and place my bags into my cart even though there was a line of customers. That was pretty cool. read more

After my last experience with customer service I will never go back. I had 3 items in my cart and after waiting in line with only 2 checkouts open the cashier ushered in some elderly people with a full cart to go in front of me. Bc they were elderly I was ok with it but then he ushered in multiple people with carts in front of me told them he already helped me and I could use the self checkout if I needed too. They were all older than me so I didn't say anything even though I'm noticeably pregnant and only had 3 items. I don't use self checkout bc I believe it takes jobs away from people. I stood there stunned for a second before leaving my basket and walking out. My whole family has stopped shopping there. I think the cashier was a manager. I've since been told they are all rude and why others won't shop there either. I'll wait in line with more people at Trader Joe's any day then deal with this place read more

When a store stands out to you for excellent customer service and goes above and beyond to serve its customers with warmth of heart and compassion- you say something! Today, (January 28th) I needed compassion and the store manager went above and beyond to help us! What!??? In this day and age, this is so rare! I was a victim of fraud and my credit card didn't go through and my gaggle of toddlers were moody! In the end, the manager helped, assisted, came up with a solution, and blessed us with his generosity! This doesn't happen now a days very often! I was blown away! I cried! I thought Sprouts was a good addition to our little city of Goleta, but we've had a hidden gem with us all along- serving us and caring for our community- Albertsons! It was quite busy at the grocery store on a saturday at 3 but this albertsons was nice and easy to get into with a decent amount of parking. They were organized well within the store and had a lot of things spread about. The staff was very helpful and the location of this store is great. read more

With its recent renovation this place went from being the bane of my existence to a better than average shopping experience. It may just be that the lady, who I will name the Alcohol Nazi, that used to check the id of everyone in line when you were trying to buy alcohol has apparently gone on to greener pastures (read: dead), but this place has become a place that I actually enjoy visiting. It has great deals on many of its goods at any given time, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, while this place can not compare to a Costco or Trader Joes, it gets the job done; and does it well. read more

For the most part, this Albertsons is alright. I live closer to Ralph's so that's where I do most of my shopping but sometimes I will have to go to Albertsons for something that Ralph's doesn't have. The last time I was there though, I was looking for this particular item and I asked this guy that worked there named Jeremy, I think he's the manager or something but he was just not helpful at all. Not friendly either. Didn't even know what it was that I was looking for which was fine but the way he dismissed it and walked off without taking the time to find another way to help me was just so rude. The Shelves are usually pretty well stocked. However, The selection is just ok and the lines are usually 4 people deep. I was there recently and observed one cashier who held up the line because he did not even know that $30 was enough to pay a $27+ bill. Really? My husband and I are visiting for the first time on business and we were treated very poorly...to the point of being ignored by employees after looking us square in the face and dismissing our greeting We have never been treated so rudely. When we mentioned the way we were treated to the cashier I felt as if our concerns were brushed aside and not taken into consideration. The response was "some people are just miserable and should be happy to have a job". Not reassuring at all. I will never shop here again if I am in the area. read more
