We met Jamie today at the #148 Cost Plus World Market and she's fantastic. So friendly and hard working. She was cleaning the massive outdoor window frames with a broom, and putting in so much hard work. The window displays she put together told the most beautiful Valentine's Day story! I can't say enough wonderful things about her.

Love, love this place! This branch is located at State Street - at the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. I love shopping at this place. They have a wide variety of store offerings, from furnitures, to home decors, to wine, food (both from the East and West)--- truly a lot of choices, a one stop shop. I love that items are of good quality and reasonably priced. One of my favorite home decor shops. This shop is very refreshing, nice arrangements plus it is clean. This location is also spacious so eventhough there are a lot of customers, there is still a lot of room for everyone. Moreover, they provide good customer service. My go to place for home decor! Visit this store, it won't disappoint!

I always enjoy shopping at Cost Plus, so this location is no exception. It's located right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. If you've never been in a Cost Plus, it's a store chock full of imports from all over the world. They sell a little bit of everything: Jewelry; wine; food; furniture; toys; etc. It's definitely a great store to purchase gifts - for yourself, or others, I suppose. They have a licensing agreement with Sanrio, so that's my main focus. The Hello Kitty butter cookie tin I got here is the best. So many buttery cookie delights with her either embossed on each cookie or in the shape of a bow. There's always a good vibe in the store. The store is always clean. The employees are friendly and helpful.

So I says to myself, "Self...you KNOW this wrap top is going to be on sale come Black Friday, so why not wait? Don't buy it now. Be cool." So I fell back. I was patient. I left the store and didn't sweat the small stuff. And as sure as ever, the Multicolored Claudet Wrap was on sale for Black Friday...30% off, bringing the total down from $45 to $31. Plus I got up early and was one of the first 100 people in line to get the additional $10 off coupon...bringing the price down even further from $31 to only $21!!!!! And I got a free reusable shopping bag for being the first 100 that day, too. I've been rockin with World Market since my young Texas days, and I promise you this, CPWM...I will never leave you. I'll always be by your side.

Receipt of the date and time I made my purchase.

Really rude and bad customer service provided by the cashier, a tall blond man with long hair in a pony tail. Did not say hi or hello, did not offer me to purchase a bag for my items, and did not say thank you after my purchase.

Cost Plus is my go to on so many levels! Need discount international wine? Cost Plus. Need a cookie press for grandma that says "Made with Love?" Cost Plus. Need a hipster sweater for your dog and gluten free treats from Cuba? Cost Plus. Being that this is a huge national chain I don't think i need to say much more about the brand - You can check out their website for details. But this particular store deserves specific recognition. The staff here are very kind, on top of the line game and always have the registers at both ends of the store open for check out. They keep things neat and tidy, know where things are when you ask for help, and are very respectful when dealing with customer issues. This location has a tiny parking lot, and I mean tiny, that lines up with the backdoor. There is also a massive Public Parking lot right behind the store that is 60 second walking distance away. The store size is big but not overwhelming and very well organized to where you don't feel hopeless and lost like at Macy's. They have a clearance section in the very center of the store and a secret sale section in the front left corner of the baking/cooking area (if you are facing the store from State St). They also tend to mark random things on the shelf down, all the time. Regular prices are pretty affordable for everything but furniture and big items in home decor. They are amazing to get ideas from, though, if anything. I love this store, will be back many times (this week), and will continue to highly recommend it to others.

    Uninspired merchandising this time.

Sadly, downgrading my review from the last time. We meandered through last night. Whereas before they had colorful displays at the front entrance to set a mood, this time the product features were lacking visual appeal. Ditto the accessories department of hats, scarves, and jewelry. Mostly the colors were flat / muted and uninteresting. Bah! Pretty weak when a scarf lover like me can't find one that appeals. There were some colorful areas, like the outdoor furniture cushions. They were plentiful and vibrant. Easter baskets and fillings were also still well represented. Despite that, I didn't receive a lot of other visual stimulation walking through the store this time. Time for a spruce up!

    Holiday fun!

I love world market! They have the best gifts and member rewards coupons. They also do fun things like hide gift cards in the store for scavenger hunts. They have good snacks and wine prices are comparable to most other stores. I think I visit the store about once a week!

When the kids…read morewere little years back, the original seat fabric got all stained and nasty with milk, etc. We went to an undisclosed interior design place and replaced the fabric with marine grade vinyl and thick padding. The result was horrendous. The vinyl was tucked, unprofessionally with big seams/creases at the corners, like a do it yourself job. We didn't care at the time - as long as it held up for the next 10 years, we were good. Come 2020 and that vinyl is getting annoying. Our butts stick to them, the chairs noticeably look bad relative to the rest of our furnishing, and most importantly, the kids aren't leaving have half their food on the seats. Santa Barbara Design Center has been here for a while and I stopped in randomly on the way to Home Improvement. I was introduced to Michael, a knowledgeable and personable chap. I showed him an online picture of the original chair, and that I wanted to restore the seat to its original, sleek, sculptural and refined splendor. He said no problem, provided a couple of premium quality fabric books, and we were on our way. We picked out the fabric and brought the chairs in. Michael commented "my god, who did this work?" 50% down and ten days later, chairs were done, with a message "come down and make sure you are happy." My wife and I looked, were pleased - Michael responded with "here's something that bothers me, I want you to see..." He flipped the chair over and on the bottom, the seat fabric was stapled just outside of the underside frame. You wouldn't see it normally, but from a distance or looking down from the side, you might. Immediately we thought the same thing, yeah, that's not ideal. He said it shouldn't be done like this, let me redo it for you, no charge. His upholsterer redid it, and boy those 8 chairs look great, almost better than the original! The seats came out sleek and wonderfully curved over the underlying pad. The fabric is comfortable, soft and elegant - couldn't be happier. The interior of SBDC fills a warehouse space and contains just about everything; furniture, rugs, lamps, etc. The staff were COVID compliant, and Michael was a dream to work with. He has an excellent eye for detail, is easy to work with, and is an honest broker; I wish we had more projects for him!

Over several days I engaged in 3 conversations with a Cabana salesperson. She recommended their house brand (Matouk) and assured me Matouk was a "best seller" and "Cabana carried nothing but the best". Over subsequent conversations it was clear that the salesperson could not answer basic questions such as "why is Matouk your best seller?" I prompted her to discuss thread counts and cotton types, but she was mostly stumped. She eventually admitted that she never used a Matouk product. I had the impression that she had never used a fine linen product. I eventually found a sell on the Internet with a tremendous amount of knowledge that made me feel safe in my decision. I also felt like I learned something, other than what is the "best seller". I spent 15 minutes on the phone with an expert and made the decision....that was a savings when you consider I got nowhere with Cabana in over an hour of discussions and research. I spent slightly more, approximately $1000, on the Internet than I would have spent at Cabana, but for my 12th anniversary I needed to be 100% certain that I would not be disappointed. I also felt better telling my partner all about the type of cotton, thread count, etc., rather than simply saying "happy anniversary, the Sales person told me it is there best seller".

Parking in a garage downtown for a frozen yogurt irks me so I rarely go. I passed this consignment and the moment I entered, my eyes grew big. It's mostly furniture---a mix of mid-century modern and other classic pieces--but also one of the best designer resales I've seen in the back. Every bench, piece of art, chair gorgeous. You just have to go in to appreciate the extraordinary taste of Lisa Faitell, who moved to SB from Westchester County (a tiny town my dear friend lives and I just spent three nights). It's a mother-daughter operation, which I love. They also do custom window treatments and you can arrange for delivery. In the hour I spent, a woman in Laurel Canyon bought a large bright aqua sectional couch. I love absolutely everything. Note: the clothing runs small. Best if you are a size 2, 4, or 6. I love that a New Yorker opened this store--in a pandemic no less. New Yorkers have grit and chutzpah, always rising to the challenge in the most fraught conditions.
