It's a typical grocery store. The only reason why I give one star over three is because they never have the mobile carts that have full batteries. This is the third time over a time of three weeks that all mobile carts are dead batteries or they have died in the middle of the store which makes it very hard to help my handicap family members to go grocery shopping read more

You ever drive 13 hours, check into your hotel room, and realize you don't have any Bud Light? Well, that happened to me a few months ago in Las Cruces... a town I'd never visited before. I kissed my bride and asked her to bid me good luck, as I went down to the Jeep in the hotel parking lot, fired it up, and started driving... looking for a supermarket or a liquor store. Really, I knew I would need the former. Because invariably, when we're hotel livin'-- even if only for one night and an early morning the next day-- everyone starts thinking of stuff they need once one of us heads out for supplies. Sure enough, the texts started flying: Get ice cream! Get chips and salsa! Get quesadilla-makings! Get fat-free fig newtons! Yeah, it turns into a shopping list. ... which is also why I don't just put "supermarket" into Yelp and drive there... because by the time I start getting the texts, if I got there too quickly, I'm already heading back to the hotel, and then I have to turn around, and I'm all antsy and ticked (both bugs... weird, right?) Instead, I enjoy that little time to myself in the car driving around a town I don't know, -- no idea if I'm heading towards the main drag with all the stores, or a bad part of town, or a neighborhood, or into a top secret military installation or whatever. Fun. Well, no Army base this time... just found this Albertsons, and pulled into the parking lot. I did drive through a neighborhood to get here though, so that was cool. Inside, it was a lot like the Albertsons seven blocks from my house; except this one was pretty much devoid of people, the parking lot was dark and small-town eerie, and things were cheaper than SoCal. The gal who rang me up didn't say much to me or really look up and acknowledge me despite my Chatty Cathy doll impersonation, so that felt more like the Albertsons experience I've come to know. Albertson's may be "Your Store," but no one there is engaging you in conversation on the matter. Anyway, I went in for a twelve-pack, and left with a $70 order. Oh well, at least everyone was happy. Can't imagine when I'll be back in Las Cruces, NM... let alone when I'll be there AND need to go to an Albertsons. But hey-- if both of those two variables align, I'll be back here again. read more

For starters, the aggressive panhandlers in the parking lot are not only annoying, but often, dangerous. The one guy with the boom box who's always there, peeking into cars, waiting for shoppers to go inside? Albertson's makes enough money to have security patrolling the area, making people feel safe. Second, the employees are mostly awful. Sorry, but the lack of professionalism is appalling. The checker and bagger chatting away about their personal lives rather than pay attention to the register and chore at hand? This has happened every time I've shopped there. Lastly, the nasty overuse of cheap stinky personal products -- hand lotions, perfumes, etc. -- that I bring home with me are SICKENING. I get it, COVID made everyone use hand sanitizers up the kazoo, but this is different. The baggers and checkers wear so much smelly stuff, it comes off on the items and bags. I don't want to bring their cheap, cheesy scents home with me!!! Also, the bananas and fruit STINK. The produce guys love their cologne, but why do customers have to be subjected to it?! I will never shop there again. I think the Albertson's on N. Main has better employees. This place is just plain GROSS. read more

Went to this Albertsons to purchase a few items. Pulling into their parking lot, I noticed they turned all their handicap spots were turned into pick up spots. I found only two semi close to the store, both taken. I was dropped at the door while my husband parked. Upon going into the store, we realize they had no handicap carts. NONE, ZERO. I am an autistic individual who was bothered by a staff member here. I usually bring my service dog in, but we are on a trip and I want to see if I could manage a social situation on my own. Whoever was working at self check out March 22 around 5-6, black hair in a pony tail and square glasses-- clearly had an issue with something. She had approached me and my partner once asking if we needed bags, which wasn't the issue. We asked for two, she brought them, and then went on her way-- AS ALL GROCERY STORES NORMALLY DO AT SELF CHECK OUT. I scanned all my items, bagged them up, and had my card in hand. The same woman approached us again asking if she could take our basket. I simply replied "No thank you. We will deliver it back to the door when we leave so that the paper bag doesn't tear apart" considering it was flimsy and we also had jugs of water to carry. Our plan was not to take the basket out of the store, yet she bluntly made a comment to my partner saying "well you can't steal this" even though he was simply holding it up straight so the bag that was in it (that was also holding soup) would not spill over. I told her again that we had no issue setting it down on our own, on the way out. I had to say it three times before turning around and asking if there was another issue. I was unsure on if she was trying to imply we were going to steal the basket. I turn back around to put my card into the machine and she immediately stands behind me. There was no arm space, there was no "personal room", and we are still in a PANDEMIC. I asked if she needed something again because she was now completely invading my space and my partners. I have a service dog that is specifically trained for situations like this, so people can register that I need my own space. It's also incredibly rude to just do that...and weird. Mind you, we don't even live in Las Cruces. We were stopped here for a vacation and this was our first interaction. My issues were only the fact that when I did ask her to move back, she kept telling me no and acting as if something suspicious was up. Please control your employees, and maybe go over the guidelines of SOCIAL DISTANCING again with this specific woman. "Have a good day maam" was not the correct response in me saying "you need to back up". If you are in someone's personal space, you are in the wrong. There was no signs of theft, no signs that we were even trying to steal...I don't know what the issue was but maybe an Albertsons job is not for you. read more

I love this store, don't get me wrong! Lived here my whole life. Enjoyed the hometown feel of them sacking groceries for you, taking them to your car, the help you get there is great. Now for the first time, they are breaking tradition and going self check out! People there are worried about their jobs! Let's help them KEEP their jobs by not using those things! I was in Albertson's on El Paso Wed.(Aug. 15). I saw Tom, as usual he is everywhere in the store...nothing goes unseen or unheard, that he does not know about.... The first time I met Tom, he was my cashier...I did not know he was the manager...he is always helping his customer's.... Tom, is a GOD-send to this store.... If I could give it less stars I would. By far the RUDEST customer service I've ever experienced! All we asked for was dry ice and got treated like we asked for pate! The only nice person was the gentleman that GOT us the ice. The rest acted like we were inconveniencing them for asking for a product they have that we didn't have access to getting ourselves. On behalf of the Cat's Meow, Las Cruces' only feline adoption and resource center, we want to thank Albertson's and Manager, Doug Heavner, for the fabulous donation of lettuce for our Bellissimi Gattini (Beautiful Kittens) fundrasier, which took place July 29. this store is by far and away is the best grocery store in las cruces from the food to the pharmacy to the employees to the best management team I have ever had to deal with. when you need a product they get It in the store quickly. if you cant find something in the store the employees will take you to where that item is. pharmacy people are the best bar none!!! the cashiers are great they never over charge or make stupid mistakes like certain big box stores. read more
