Grocery shopping in Las Vegas, Nevada... I searched for a grocery store on my Yelp app and found Albertsons. We don't have this chain of stores in Hawaii, so, I was kind of curious. Mom needed tonic water. She said she drinks it to prevent leg cramps. Last night, she had cramps on one leg and then the other. The pain disrupted her sleep and she didn't want it to happen again. We had shopped at the 99 Cents Only Store, Dollar Tree, and CVS, but had found no tonic water. We hoped Albertsons would have some... And they did! Since we were there, I looked for Knox gelatin (powder) in a container (instead of using packets). I had bought some in the past from a mainland store, but I can't remember which store. Unfortunately, Albertsons didn't have any. Well... At least mom has tonic water. Let's pray that she has restful sleep tonight! read more

I recently bought some ground beef patties from this location. It seemed like they weren't even ground beef patties what so ever! First of all, they were beyond bloody. While cooking them, it was taking a while for it to be time to flip... but they just kept pouring out blood. Decided to give it a little poke to see how much blood was in there to help bleed it out... It was squirting out blood. Like a waterfall. So weird. The outside took super long to cook... and then it would start to burn a little bit And from there checking the inside, it was raw & still the exact pink from when we started to cook them... what?! So yeah the outside was cooking first and then the inside took forever to cook. Still pouring out blood. We took them off the heat after 30 minutes! When I was eating my burger I had to stop cus the inside was still one shade of pink. I don't know what was wrong with these patties! But I will be getting my money back. I'm going to be honest. Albertraz Zoo on Bruce and Charleston is okay to shop. The area is dicey because it's in the downtown area. This shopping center is the first strip mall in Las Vegas, the building is really old it's 63 years old, it used to be home of The Fox theater back in the day. If you're going to shop here go in the morning/daylight not when the moon is out. You will get the vagrants panhandling outside. Outside the store there was a incident with a Vietnam vet named Larry Thomas, Purple Heart he was smashed over the head with the trash can lid from a crazy tweakier, Larry's head was cracked and broke his hip from the fall. Larry died a week later. They caught the scum bag RIP Larry. I've seen scorpions crawling. I've seen a huge rat in the store one time walking around the bakery area tables. Ive seen fist fights break out between customers and occasionally the employees, Ive seen the front window of the store get smashed with rocks by angry customers multiple times. The theft here is through the roof! Associates can't really do anything about it because they will get in trouble so by the time management comes along the thieves are out the door. It can stink sometimes outside in the parking/driveway near the Amazon locker on westside doors because of the service deli grease trap, it tends to leak out because of overfilling and spills grease out on the driveway so be careful when walking around there. Shopping carts can be a problem because they get stolen or taken off the property. I've heard real gross horror stories about the public bathrooms, mostly drug use. Watch out for codes in the dairy department items and products on the grocery floor shelves. I've also seen actual poop on the aisles both from humans and pets. Be nice to the employees here, they deal with crap everyday from customers and probably from their associates and or managers. It's a post apocalyptic gladiators with coupons kind of vibe store. read more

I've been an Albertsons customer for many years now, and today made me consider going to this location less. My experience with Ronald in the deli department made me very uncomfortable. He was very dismissive and passive aggressive when I simply asked him if they will be serving more fresh items later in the day. I don't expect the best customer service in the world, but at least do the bare minimum and make the people shopping in your store feel more welcome. Other than that, this place is pretty convenient and has everything I need. But I may be going here less often. read more

On the way to our lodging coming into town we stopped at the store. The store was neat and clean. The staff were all very friendly and so helpful. We were able to find almost everything that we needed. Prices were clearly marked and discounts were reflected in, the totals at the register. I had absolutely no problem. Usually, I do not purchase pre-cut fruit. But, my lil one very much wanted watermelon. It was so good! Check out was easy. The woman who helped us was very sweet. You know I get the whole can't cash certain checks at certain places but when one employee cashes a check that they "don't accept" multiple times and then I come in to get the same check cashed and now I'm being told NO! Employees are rude, unknowledgeable, and lazy. Can't find an employee to help reach, find or fix something. When you do find an employee, they don't help and have an attitude. They also talk a lot of trash about the company and people above them. There are definitely exceptions but the ones who are ruin it. This store use to be better. Have worked nearby for 10 years. Walk here almost every day to get lunch. The food remains quality to the point but the customer service has declined rapidly to non existence. Daily watch staff/manager shoot the shit instead of helping customers who are stranded at self check out, to reach things higher up on a shelf, or to get things behind a counter. 5 minute trip in the store turns into a 30 minute ordeal. after today and yesterdays experience I'm no longer shopping here. read more

I wanted to buy some items for some cooking plans I had and as I was in this plaza already I walked into this store. I had been here once before which was a good experience. However this time was different. There's a cashier named James that probably had a bad day and needed a victim. He refused to scan my coupon because he knew if he did it would be accepted. The coupon said smiths however this is all owned by the same so it doesn't matter. Well it did to James and that my smiths card is scammed and accepted and applies my discounts doesn't confirm how ridiculous this is. The fact you refuse to scan a coupon because you know it will apply shows zero customer service. I won't be back. Not the safest area anyway so it's not like I'll miss coming here. read more

I have shopped many times in this store and I have to say, for a regular department store, it is really an experience. This Albertsons has all the regular accoutrements of a basic store, fresh veggies and meats, including organic frou frou stuff. The star of the experience is the fine folk who shop or congregate around the store. Where else in town can you shop for great meat cuts and get offered a great deal on food stamps? ( $50 worth of food stamps for $10 bucks, what a steal!) I was sorry to turn down such an gratuitous offer. The place is always hopping. Go early to get the best deals and don't be afraid to ask for help. The staff is great. This is what a downtown store should be, a cool mix of hipster and home.....less the big crowds. P.S This store is the closest if you're staying downtown and don't want to pay $8 bucks for a bottle of water. read more

Each time I've gone to this particular Albertson's and purchased the "on-sale" meat, leadership seems to give me a difficult time at checkout. I make every attempt to follow the rules, clip coupons, stay under limits, etc., but I find it challenging to complete the purchases. It's almost as if they don't want to sell it. Most of the staff is delightful, however some leadership can be rough. The store is overrun with customer's stealing from them and frequent, loud arguments occur in the store between the customers and staff. I've been witness to a "customer" getting maced at checkout. I have empathy for the associates that work there, however they shouldn't treat all customers with the same gruff attitudes. read more

I just moved from a neighborhood where I frequented Smiths but now I'm on 215 w and Hualapai . Where Albertsons is right there . So I had to shop in was lost .getting my bearings I was not hooked up w digital coupons etc . Well I was made to feel very Welcomed ! Where has all the service went to? Arrived at Albertons at 6:50pm, Made me way to the soup aisle and bought some soup. Went to the seafood and meats, Gentleman behind the counter looked at me and said Sir were closed. Said OK. Looked at my watch and it was exactly 7:01pm. Was like ok. Proceeded to checkout and asked the cashier when does seafood and meats close. 8pm. I asked for a manager. She stopped by and I told her the situation and she said oh yeah, it closed around 7 or 8pm. OR I asked? So out of luck here. Yes sir. I should have returned all my stuff. Did not think till I was at the car. On a recent trip here our hotels rooms and suites needed provisions. On our way back from a trip on the other side of the strip we got snacks, some food, drinks for the rest of the trip. All the liquor is locked up and there are buttons on the ends of that isle that call an associate to unlock them. They also must carry them to the register for you rather than keeping it in your cart. This isn't much of an inconvenience aside from the waiting part. They have a solid craft soda selection and a large beer selection (though not much in the way to craft beer variety), I guess with all the big money flowing into Vegas that hasn't quite reached here yet. VSOP Hennessey is about 50% overpriced. I was surprised by the bag laws here as I'm almost used to the bag laws back home. The soda isle is not clearly marked. The store is on the large side, though not in a super modern sort of way. Registers are also an issue here with only the 15 items or less and 1 register being open with about 20 guests. It's Vegas so there were slot machines in a side room near the entrance. I have yet to figure out why, but Albertsons has the best super market fried chicken of all the chains. It rivals specialty stores like KFC, Popeyes, Churches at times. The same goes for the Wings (Thanks Glenn). Normally I like getting my wings to order so they are fresh, but Albertsons does a surprising job in the quality not degrading much under those lamps. All in all there were many more pro's than cons and being pretty close to Old Vegas for non locals I'd say this is the go to place. Both gas and liquor stores on the way back for other needs. Look man..... This place is not the best. Duh. Look where the hell it's located. We keep it dirty, dirty in my neck o' the woods! HAHAHA! But yeah, I thought one star was a little unfair, since at least this place sorta tries. They always have good clearance items (I one got two packs of blueberry muffin mix for a dolla! Sparkling grape juice was $2.50!) Also, interestingly enough, they always have some special on a random ethnic/international food item. Today, they had 10 for $10 on mini packs of nummy Korean salted seaweed. Pretty cool I guess. They also got that extra star cuz they have a Redbox inside! Oh yeah! I rented Total Recall and Looper. Blu Ray, baby. I still have to rent that V/H/S (sorry Bobby, I forgot lol). Also, there is an older Japanese dude that works the register here, and I swear to goth.... He is by far the FASTEST checkout person I have ever encountered in my entire life. You have to go just to see this guy in action. Amazing. I visited from Los Angeles and when I went through the check out line Flo was so nice! I honestly haven't had such great customer service in years. She was genuine too. Beautiful smile. Made sure to tell me about the info on the back of my receipt. I wish more people took pride in their job like she did. Really made my day that much better. Flo you rock! This is...not the place you want to go to if you can help it. It stinks. Literally--there was an odor toward the front when we entered, strong enough that we considered turning around and going somewhere else. Very rude and what appeared very much to be a super racist cashier. She obviously doesnt like latinos and probably thought i was gonna pay with EBT. I didnt expect her straight out rudeness because she was very polite to the customers before me. I asked her politely if she knew if the icecream was on sale. She said " How am i supposed to know. What did your advertisement say? She doubled bagged my groceries and didnt respond when i told her thank you several times . I told the customer service and he thought it was funny. I spent over $300 cash on very poor service. Now i know why there were no latinos except for me shopping at this location lol. I spent two days calling and going to places around me looking for them near my house. Yes I should have just ordered bulk off of amazon...but anyway... Today was the first time I had been in an Albertsons since 2010? when I checked out the one on Rain/Warm and was not impressed. I'm def not changing from Whole Foods, farmers markets, Vegas Roots, etc. but it was nice to know they had sun dried tomatoes when I needed them for a special red pesto I'm making. At CVS last week, a younger black man who was unable to walk wry well came to print a photo for his son's birthday cake at Albertsons. The bakery sent him to the CVS and told him he could use the electric wheel-chair cart to make it easier since he was using a walker. Immediately two men came separately to tell him to bring the cart back. One, Asian-looking, the second a white man. The second me was named Lee and proceeded to dump entire cart backwards as if he was going to throw the man out of the wheelchair! The man's head was literally inches from the ground at this point. I yelled at him to stop assaulting a disabled man and he did except he forced the wheelchair back to Albertsons front door causing the man to leave his phone behind. The Albertsons employee was yelling back to me "call the cops, call the military, I don't care, take this job and shove it!" This scared me so much my hands were shaking, adrenaline pumping. This man could have easily been seriously injured and not knowing the extent of his disability, could have had a seizure or heart attack just from the situation. I am also disabled and the idea of throwing a crippled man onto the ground is just... I don't even have words for how I feel. The cops were called and I think charges were filed. I was with a friend who saw the whole thing and made the comment if the man had been an 80 year old woman, would they have treated her the same way? Is this racial Discrimination AND ALSO assault against a person with disabilities? I'm not sure if the fact that the man in a wheelchair was black and Lee was white makes a difference. We can only assume. THEN, a week later I came into the store with my service dog (as I always do). Security reaches to pet her and I tell them not to interfere with my dog, THEN at checkout Another employee named Deanne started to talk to my dog (it's a felony to interfere with a service dog btw). I asked her to stop and also why doesn't this store know about service dogs? Deanne started to harass me about the fact that there was not a vest on my dog and how should she know. Well, 1. Only service dogs are allowed in stores, why else would she be there? 2. Americans with Disabilities Act clearly states I DO NOT need to put any signs or in any other way PROOVE disability or her job as a service dog. Just to let you know, I have used several vests which people generally ignore. They are expensive, break after a month and cut up my legs due to her size and just how it lays on her body. (In case you are wondering why don't I just put a vest on her). Deanne was argumentative and I asked for a manager at which point she called me a "dumb B****". The manager did hear this and told her to go on break. As she walked away she banged her chest several times saying "what are you going to do about it? Do something". Wow. I'm both situations, management said they would take care of it. I did call corporate who said it was an issue of public safety and they would have the District Manager follow up. This WAS my favorite store and why they suddenly want to physically and verbally assault disabled customers is horrid and disgusting. I was driving in Las Vegas & decide to stop by Albertsons to get some water & snack as we where getting a box of water there was a lot of rat poop also another lady notice and was like wow this is disgusting,when I was paying I told the cashier (lady)and she called a guy which said I have no control of the product we receive so I was like ok that wasn't a proper way to discuss the situation but ok.So I sat by the entrance to get a Starbucks coffee there a lil table we were just there with my family at of no one in the a girl screaming she saw a rat passing by here feet we look yup it was a rat!!!! The place is not clean, the selection is horrible, The employees were putting out the vegetables without gloves and service was hard to be found. She didn't want to take my ID because I had the one they jus coo idea in my car because u jus got the real ID so they punched my ID. So she made a big deal about it but then I remember Ed I had another copy that wasn't punched in my glovEs box because I thought I lost it n applied for aNother one so this ID was legally valid. The girl called management n said I was trying to use another "fake" ID!! Her boss told her is it voided? She said no. Then she asked if it was expired n she said no n then she asked if it was me n the dumb girl says yes , so the manager told her to take it, but the girl was telling me that I needed to change my attitude n I said u dOnt talk like that to a customer. I was alreadya upset because of the hassle n hard time they were giving me treating me like a hobo from the front of the store. So the girl gives me this big asS receipt n says is everything on here correct? I looked at it n said yes where do u want me to sign it? And she goes I didn't ask u to sign it did I?? Wtf? What a biTcyou kno what! And I told her u don't hav tO talk to me like that and she says I can't t get my manager if I'd like n I said yes I'd like her her call her. She goes right to the phone n I can hear her saying I'm rude n I hAv an attitude problem n she ain't Dixon to help me n she touched the cash register n voids off my entire transaction when my money was already on the counter n all she has to do was do her job n take my money n give me my change. So her comes her big white manager n doesn't apologize for the way her employee was talkn about me instead she jus starts the transaction all over again n despite the fact the she already was all of my information on a paper written down on the counter in front of her face she trying to make me me answer every stupid question all over again. I told u already hav all my information right in front of u, I'm not answering them all again jus read the paper, the cashier shouldn't have voided ofF my transaction when my mmo year was already on the counter. There's always people asking for money in this parking lot, some homeless, some not. They see you pulling in and bee-line straight for your car before you've even gotten out. I've tried waiting them out in my car, but they will walk right up to your window and knock on it! This is the closest grocery store to me but I do not feel safe coming here at night.
