I prefer to go to this one earlyish in the morning, to avoid the demolition derby cart races and crowds in general. I like the cash or debit card payment system.... Their shelf rotation system is good with respect to FIFO .... I like Winco for their prices. The store itself is clean, but the parking lot.... my God, people, the parking lot is NOT a garbage can! I've seen food packaging, fast food packaging and other detritus people leave behind. I actually stepped on a piece of garbage after parking and getting out of the car - it was squishy. I almost got back in the car and left. The store itself is fine. I love the bulk section, but will only buy stuff that's in the bins overhead. Will NOT buy anything that are in the barrels. I saw a woman get some candy, and dropped the scoop on the floor. She picked it up and.... PUT IT BACK IN the slot!!! EWWWWW!! I grabbed it and handed it to a worker, explaining what I saw. So so disgusting. Not the store's fault at all but the fault of the idiot that put it back. I also don't buy any meat. I believe they sell "Select" grade beef, as they don't have the "Choice" sticker on them. I just skip the whole meat aisle. Their produce section is OK. Some things are fine, like cucumbers (the ones wrapped in plastic), apples, avocados. Other things like kale and lettuce, eh. Overall, Winco is great for buying packaged brand name items for much less than Albertson's or Smith's. Not so much for other stuff. read more

The selection is pretty decent, part of how prices are kept reasonable. shopping here for years and got double charged on my debit card. thought no big deal, ill go in and show proof that theres two charges on my card. The customer service desk treated me like I was stupid like I didn't know how to read my own bank account. They were dismissive and said that it couldnt happen even though it did happen and I have proof. Said nothing they could do. Store is great to shop at and get good deals. Disappointed. My very first time at a WinCo Foods. The one on Buffalo & Washington was closest to me - about 6 miles away. I received an advertising sheet in the mail. So, the next day I go down there around 5 in the morning. They are open 24 hours per day. When I go to check out, there are 4 people in line ahead of me, and only the one register open. It is about 5:30AM. The advertising sheet claimed that I could buy up to 4 Simply Orange Juice (46 oz.) for $1.98 each. When I get to the front of the line, I hand the advertising sheet to the clerk. But then she says that the prices listed in the sheet are only available after 8AM. It does not say one word about effective time on the advertising sheet. So, I told the clerk I did not want the juice since I would be paying close to double for it. If they were not willing to honor their advertised price this time, then I have to wonder if they will find a way to do the same at some point in the future. I also went down each aisle in the store to analyze prices. On some things, they offer slightly lower prices. However, stores like Albertsons, Smiths, and others offer better prices for "on sale" items. You will find better quality and prices for produce at places like La Bonita & Cardenas. I probably won't be back since I value my time, money, and there are plenty of stores only a mile or two away from me with more cashiers and self-checkout aisles. read more

I remember when I visited my bestie in Oregon and this was one of her favorite place to shop as she took me here to make some yummy home cook meal and even back then noticed the prices here are amazing and browsing here today don't even notice any price difference from years back. After shopping at Trader Joe's we were still in need for some water as we're just visiting but buying bottle water throughout the days can get quite expensive and since it's right across from TJ's I just had to see if they have exactly what we're looking for. Finally finding the aisle noticed it was all small specific bottled water and the large was only distilled..sigh! As we were so close to buy a huge pack of water noticed the water filling station. Arctic Mountain dispenser uses reverse osmosis drinking water and it was $0.35 a gallon though we don't have the gallon purchased one for $1.03 and filled it which was just as a bargain. The self checkouts are not allowed for those who have more than 10 items, unless you are friends with those who run the store. Not even when there is no line for them! There's no bs with club memberships or coupons or weekly flyers. - It's a co-op not a mega corporation. - Produce: good. They have bulk mushrooms that I can pick from the flat. Price and quality of staples are low. Leeks, snow pea, asparagus are more but not high compared to other stores. - Meat: whole chicken, Canadian bacon. I picked up a chuck roast for pot roast. It was thick cut with a nice vein of fat, so giving their beef a try. I mostly stick to name brands in this department. - Pantry items are the real reason to shop at Winco. Cake mix, oil, raisins, cereal, one-off things like liquid plumber. Peanut butter. Canned corn, house brand is $0.68. Store brand for things like APF or white sugar, cornstarch, very reasonable. Several varieties of Guittard chips for the cookie bakers: $5. Condiments, olives. - ATM in customer service: $1 fee. - Trader Joe is right across the parking lot. This is the third location I have visited and was not disappointed. The layout is a little different from the one I frequent in Henderson, so I had to do a little hunting to find the usual products I come here for. One thing I have to appreciate about WinCo is that they keep their prices low and competitive, even in these trying times of the economy. I always know I can come here and make my dollars stretch like I used to be able to do at Walmart. If you are looking for affordable, quality products, you need to come here before going to any other grocery store. It's a pleasure to shop and this location was pretty clean and very well organized. I just wish the layout of these store were the same all around so that I wouldn't get lost. Today not at all, the man who checked me out wouldn't speak or look at me, however he was checking out the wine I purchased so much so that I looked at it as well wondering if something was wrong. Stopped by for the first time before the holidays because I saw in the news that Winco was rated the best grocery store in Nevada. It's really big and has a large selection of almost everything you can think of, things that are usually not found in grocery stores (like sewing supplies, air filters, etc.). It's spacious and clean. They have a lot of items in bins: candies, grains, beans, and fried fruits. Prices in general are really good. And as a holiday special, I got a really nice piece of choice grade beef rib roast for $5.99 per pound (limit one with $25 purchase). That's less than half the price at Costco! There are a couple of things that stopped me from rating them 5-star. They do not accept credit cards which is kinda inconvenient. I also noticed that they tend to carry brands that are cheaper and probably of lower quality. For example, they carry Scott toilet paper but not Charmin. During the pandemic I was forced to buy Scott once because that was all I could find, and it wasn't very good. I needed some organic milk and it was also a brand I had never heard of. It is open 24 by 7 which makes it really convenient. I do recommend them because they do have really good prices and they carry a lot of different items. read more

It was until a month ago that I stopped at WinCo for the first time. I just walked around and checked their merchandise. I found some items that were similar but different products that I normally buy. I also saw a freezer case with sliced, frozen calf liver. When I went to buy this nearer home where I normally buy liver, they were out. A second trip to WinCo was in order. I had to ask at the meat department where it was because they had moved it since I was last here. I also picked up some extra hot suasage in link form which I'm looking forward to grilling! On my first trip, I went to pay. My Apple Pay attempt kept being denied by the machine. An employee told me that it was cash or debit card only so out came the debit card. That worked and on my second visit, I didn't act like I was unable to check out. I like meandering in the store--something I rejected in the past--to see what items they have, what the comparable prices are, and checking out new brands of products I normally buy.
