I go shopping at this store like once a week, and I like to go super early, by that I mean when the places just opens. Recently they changed their opening time from 6 am to 5 am at the request of the Starbucks inside. Almost all of the staff here is very friendly and nice, I always see this one checker bright and early in the mornings on the weekend, her name is Lupe, a very nice lady, and we always chat when I am making my purchase. She has also helped me a few times, by making sure my totals were correct, if sale items were priced right, and so on. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. I work right next to an Albertson's market; but I like shop at this one to show my support for this location because I feel it has better employees here. read more

I like Albertson's in general, and this particular Albertson's in particular. My favorite food is their Tri Tip Roast Beef, it is magnificent. I buy a whole cooked roast at the deli section, and a fresh baked loaf of French bread and make several meals out of it. Ralph's deli section doesn't offer cooked in store roast beef, only cold cuts. Just about everything is slightly more expensive at Albertson's than Ralph's, but worth the difference. I like the service at the Montebello Albertson's, the staff at the deli counter is always pleasant, the clerks at check out are also very polite and efficient. The Albertson's on Commonwealth in Alhambra has the same products, but the cashiers aren't as friendly. I've called the manager, and mentioned it to several cashiers. I've had cashiers not acknowledge me at all. Not say hello, nor even look at me while they total up my purchases. No "thank you," no "did you find everything you were looking for." Never an offer to help me with my purchases to my vehicle. Nada. And this is not a one time happening, its a set pattern if rudeness. read more

I only go and shop at Albertsons because it is close to my house. I usally like going to Whole Foods just becasue the service there is friendlier and also I feel like their produce is fresher. But Whole Foods is kind of far from me, that is why I only go once in a while and Albertsons is just right at the corner. I REALLY don't like the service here. I try my best not to ask for help when I come in here just cause I know the workers there are not that friendly. Also, sometimes I feel like they aren't helpful. AT ALL... I usually don't buy veggies or fresh meat here. i remember buying seafood here before, and it was OK. The price is expensive but its a American market. There is only one set of doors in and out, that is kind of weird for such a big store. Pretty nice veggies. A lot of veggies bagged and individually wrapped. They have a small organic section. Okay looking meat. Nice looking baked items. Redbox in store. If I lived here, I would probably use this place over the others in the area. Starbucks inside!!!! read more

Best market in Montebello. Be sure to try some freshly baked bagels; they're probably the best on the east side. Come by 9am because they get snatched up real quick (probably by my dad and I). I especially love the organic produce section that has a larger selection than Vons. I always come here when I spontaneously decide to become a vegetarian for a week to stock up on ingredients for fresh salads and what not. I came her for the first time!! They don't have a meat department that Sucks only seafood the rest is pre package but I was not able to find chicken only red meat and I walk the whole store I was able to find some in the frozen section. Overall it was okay but I wouldn't come back her maybe only for liquor. read more

This Albertsons has a "3's a Crowd" policy with posters hanging from the ceiling advertising this. On Saturday June 3 at 9:00 am there was only one register open and the line went clear back to the frozen section. I took a picture at 9:20 am. There were 17 people in line. I went to customer service and let Rudy Meza, the worker I spoke with, know that the line to pay was very long. He was rude and said "I'm not finished with what I'm doing here". The poor cashier that was helping everyone called for assistance and it went unanswered. She was having difficulty with a situation that didn't make matters move any faster. We almost left the store until one worker came straight out of the parking lot and said oh my goodness and went straight to the register to help. She went to the back and spoke with Mr. mesa and then others came. Please discuss the importance of customer service with Mr. Mesa. There were so many disgruntled people in line. read more

I love the store overall. There is nothin to be said about the prices or the customer-cashier relations. I've known some cashiers to be quite funny and made the experience enjoyable. However for the Starbucks inside is another matter. There was once an issue with my order and the manager of the Starbucks gave me a hissy fit as if I made her day quite uncomfortable. Regardless I tried to stay positive and push through the correction and get my order right. But that experience is enough for me to reconsider going to Albertsons due to starbucks being in the way to the store. read more

This review is for the two men working in the Meat department. One of the men's name was Tonly L and I couldn't see the name tag of the other man. I asked Tony L where the prepackaged carne asada was located. He only waved his arm, gave me a rude answer and was abrupt with me. When I asked him again he didn't answer me. I went to the area where the prepackaged meats are located. There was another worker replenishing the prepackaged meats. I asked him if there was any prepackaged carne asada. He didn't even bother to look up. He kept working. Of course, I didn't understand what his response was. I just walked away. What happened to good customer service????? I understand that not all employees providing service will go above and beyond but they were needlessly rude and not helpful at all. read more

Never ever ever ever ever buy the prepped burgers from here!!!!! I got 3 yesterday for dinner and grilled them Like I usually do every Sunday for dinner, but this was my first time ever getting burgers from here. Grilled them they tasted pretty good but was woken in the middle of the night vomiting violently and it didn't stop till around 2pm today(the following day) am still sick and had to call off work because there was no way I was going to be able to work in the shape I was in. Hadn't been in the store in about a year and needed a specialty item that they used to carry. Disappointed that they no longer stocked what I went in for, I picked up a few items since I was there anyway. Prices on meat and produce were high. Produce was decent quality but poultry section was dismal. Shelves were messy and there were miscellaneous displays all over the front aisle behind registers that made the place look cluttered. Only one cashier at 6:20 pm and self serve registers were chronically malfunctioning. Won't go back. read more

This is honestly the worst supermarket experience ever. One check stand open... Small meat selection. Non helpful staff. The bakery includes mostly almost expired breads.... I've had a hard time finding Oriental products for my recipes. I've ventured into Monterey Park from Montebello for a lot of my ingredients. My boyfriend and I ended up visiting 2 different stores looking for Soba Noodles last weekend. Well look no more. I found them at Albertson's! They just moved to a location across the street from the old location next to the Circuit City. The store is beautiful but the same sluggish customer service still exists. It took me way too long to get out of there and this annoying 3's a crowd tv advertisement played on a continous loop while I was in line to check out. I wanted to shut the sound off on the darn thing. I must have heard that darn thing play the same thing about 10 times while I was in line. I hope they find some better people to run the place. read more

Albertsons tends to be lower quality than other local chains, but this is a particularly low-quality store. I suppose the demographics support Albertsons decision to keep this store down, but with a better Ralphs within a mile , why don't they at least give it a try? I recently shopped at a Von's store in Nipomo ~ after the cashier stopped talking with the bagger and decided to check me out and I was waiting for my receipt she started counting out $60.00 in cash. I didn't ask for $60.00 cash; either I hit the wrong button or the machine malfunctioned. Long story short, she told me to take the money to the bank and deposit it; I'm 160 miles from home!! The Manager (he said) stopped by and said there is no way to correct this....I find this totally unbelievable that there is no way to override a mistake, whether it was mine or theirs. Having been in business myself for a number of years I have no problem correcting an over ring or a mistake. Maybe they are lacking in training???? Their customer relations could use a little upswing also.....they were laughing as though I wasn't even there! read more

This location used to be a Max Foods. When Albertson's took over, they remodeled a bit, but the interior still looks dated. It's not super fancy like some other Albertson's i've been to, but at least it's clean and spacious. They do have a Starbucks inside the store, but lack a pharmacy. CVS is a couple doors down though. I only come here because it's convenient and it's one of three full service markets in the area. The other two being Smart & Final Express and Super A. I guess Von's is close enough too, but the parking lot there is horrendous. read more

I usually try to shop at Vons or TJ for groceries but this Albertsons is conveniently located on my way home from work. Unfortunately, it's a small Albertsons and they don't carry much. Twice in the last 3 months I've stopped by to pick up a few things including lemons and they haven't had any. Seriously, no lemons, no limes. Period. The second time this happened I couldn't believe it (on a Thursday around 6pm) so I asked someone that worked there. He said "we don't have any". I made a face that asked, "is there a citrus shortage or something"? so he went into the warehouse area and yelled something to someone who confirmed that there were no lemons or limes. He said, "I don't think they ordered enough, check back tomorrow". I said thanks and kept walking and another worker asked me what I was looking for, I told her and she said that if they weren't out then they didn't have any. I told her I understood, that this was the 2nd time this has happened, and I suggested whoever does their ordering should probably order more. She was nice enough to suggest bottled lemon juice in case I was trying to cook something. I was over it. Won't be coming back here unless I absolutely have to....no one ever says what to do when life DOESN'T give you lemons..... read more

I really hate it that they took self checkout. An employee said because elders have a gard time using it and hold up the line...now they added two more registers which they hardly ever have open & now your stuck waiting behind elders whom are still going to take a pretty long time. Terrible!!!! This store really needs someone in the customer service area. There is NEVER anyone there to help. My mother and I went in on 5/14/18 at 10:30 a.m to get a money order. We stood there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to help us. We asked a young girl if she could get someone to help us. Never happened. We left and went to the post office down the plaza. I believe this might be the last Albertsons around the area (which I prefer to Ralphs). Pretty standard Albertsons here but I like that theres a Starbucks inside and on some days (I believe weekends) there's a family that sells fresh popped popcorn out front (the kettle corn smell is intoxicating!). this location is pretty convenient...it's not too far from home and the good thing is they ALWAYS have sales! the best part to this store is the Starbucks that's inside! I'm a big Starbucks junkie! When I worked at the healthcare place on the other side of the freeway, I would come here 2-3 times a day to get my fix...before work, breaks, lunch and sometimes after work! haha this market to pretty big...you can find everything you need..the staff is super friendly and helpful....I came here yesterday to get baking ingredients, and as I was in the aisle looking for what I needed....at least 2 staff members that walked by me asked if I needed assistance. That's what you call friendly and attentive service!! good job montebello albertsons! I also picked up dinner here. I got the family dinner for 4 people. 8 pieces of fried or grilled chicken or a whole rotisserie chicken. 1lb wedges, 1lb of mac salad, potato salad or cole slaw and 4 pieces of hawaiian bread all for 9.99. Albertsons it's self is good, clean, fast check out. Since I work very close by I on occasion choose to grab a bite at the deli. This is were the rating comes in, the service at the deli is way below what it should be. There is a very large employee who dry, sarcastic humor, on occasion rude comments makes my experiences at the deli just awful. I recently stopped by and an older lady with glasses helped me out who was also very short and seemed upset with my request to have my food placed in one container. Instead she grabbed a container and stated I could do it myself. The customer service here is not good, and that's putting it lightly. I am really disappointed with the service here. I have placed. Complaint with the manager and am still waiting on a call back. Will post resolution when I receive a call back. read more
