This Albertsons location can be found on the southeast corner of Warm Springs and Rainbow Boulevard. If given my choice between Albertsons or Smiths, I definitely prefer Albertsons. Even though it is a little bit further away from me than Smiths, I've found that the service is much friendlier here. That makes the extra five minutes of driving well worth it! The bakery is one of my favorite spots here, in addition to floral section(You see, Mom and Dad are Buddhists and we frequently buy white carnations they use in their prayers and ceremonies, etc.). Albertsons is very reliable in having these carnations available most times. With all grocery stores, you just have to do the homework and see who has the better prices on the items you need. After getting getting fed up with WalMart, I've been coming here more and I really, really like it! I can get in and out quicker and the people are just so much nicer! Yesterday I went shopping with my 3 kids and I'm pregnant, if course mommy's always do. We went in the store and got everything we needed and once we got to the cashier on number #4 said she said (u can purchase the soda u have to spend until $25.00) so ok I said to my kids let's get some chips, eggs, ice cream, break, water, fruits and dad beer since we here so I did went to the same cashier and she told me again I can't still purchase the soda cuz of the beer and i was getting mad cuz i was pregnant and carrying 2 cage of water into the cart and 1 case of beer. So I was so disappointed, she was rude and didn't see a sign on the soda that saying u can't purchase with beer. Never ever come back here again ! I normally go to the at Blue diamond Albertsons. The attitude of the deli department is horrendous. If my employees acted the way these people did they wouldn't have a job. I stand there and ask for help as the only other party standing there isn't ready. The read head says she can't help me because they were here first. Clearly they aren't ready. I've been shopping at this Albertsons since the day they opened, and they are as solid and earnest business now as that very first day. I'd shrug and say, "It's an Albertsons," but having visited a few other stores around town where the security-guard presence is a bit more obvious, the aisles less varied, and the store less clean, I have new appreciation for the ship-shape Albertsons being run here. In the 89139-zone we have three players: Albertsons, Smith's, and Glazier's. (Oh, fine, and Vons, too, but I don't count them. Don't get me started) I have to admit that Glazier's is my top choice for groceries. Nothing against Albertsons, but it's hard to beat Glazier's (for reasons which eventually shall be detailed in a separate review). Still, often I drop by Albertsons. Partially because it's convenient, and partially because their Sav-On pharmacy staff is so quick, friendly, and helpful. Until I met them, I thought pharmacists with personality who really look at you as a person they can help, not just another pill bottle to fill, no longer existed. (And I've lived in folksy small towns with soda counter drugstores and everything.) To be fair, the people across the corner at CVS are also very competent and nice and deserve the silver medal behind Sav-On's gold. (Sav-On regrettably had to send me to CVS one time when they ran out of a pill I needed that night. But Sav-On made the calls and got my prescription all set up with CVS before I even left their counter. I visited CVS again later when I had a late-night pneumonia issue. Long story. Still, great as that CVS is, I'll bother to make the left turn to Sav-On, given the choice.) There's just a little extra something about the kind people at Sav-On. They remember me, which is nice, if happily startling. They remember little details about my drug history, which is reassuring. And they always know the answers to my questions straight away, which I like best of all. Plus, at Sav-On I can shop while I wait for my prescription to be filled (not that there's ever much wait). (At CVS, you're stuck sitting in the massage chair and leaning away from the coughers, or else you have to pace the short aisles over and over, feigning in interest in elbow braces or something.) This Albertsons has a decent international aisle with Asian (Thai, Japanese, some Chinese) and Western European (German, UK) items. Indian food (limited) is (inexplicably) kept on the rice aisle. The Hispanic foods section is the usual fare - although no watermelon-flavoured Jarritos like you can get at some Albertsons. (But heck, even Mariana's and Cardenas don't sell those.) The bread is hot (as advertised) and the bakery sees enough traffic that extremely fresh bread is easier to come by than at other local supermarkets. Don't look for many markdowns in this department. Most of the good clearance items can be found in one of the end freezer cases (just as you reach the shampoo aisle), and there's another clearance section back by the bathrooms. (The bathrooms have always been clean, if cramped.) My husband shops at the butcher counter now and again and always gets friendly service. If you're looking for the friendliest guy in the store, though (aside from the pharmacy - no one can beat them), it's the man who looks after the self-checkouts. (The store has four open except for the wee hours.) I think the only poor experience we've had with food from Albertsons has been their roasted chickens. They're consistently half-cooked in appearance: crispy on one side, slimy and white on the other. As a vegetarian, I'm just a bystander, but my husband went to the bother to return one before he discovered that they're *all* like that, and subsequent trips have only offered the same. Counter staff couldn't see the problem, so maybe that's just how they're supposed to be. Lines are never an issue. (Vons, take note!) The store has a few Redbox kiosks (one in, one out), and a photo kiosk as well. The pharmacy has a drive-thru. Wipes for sanitizing the cart are available about 75% of the time. Handbaskets are available at each entrance. (Not every Albertsons offers them at all now.) The Starbucks is right by the door. Mexican Coke and Pepsi (real sugar, glass bottle) are featured items. You can refill water bottles out front. There used to be a terrific bagel place across the parking lot (salt bagels - too rare!), but the economy happened. Sorry. Otherwise, an Italian yogurt/crepe/waffles place (Cefiore) is the "fun spot" to lure you into the strip mall. Overall, I give 4.5 stars to the pharmacy (with a little dock because I wish they were open 24/7 or at least late) and 3 stars to the store, which is dependable without offering anything extraordinary. Everyone is always so friendly and they always have items in stock! They also have way more specialty items then my normal Albertsons which is really helpful! I especially want to acknowledge Lydia D. She works in the Starbucks inside the Albertsons and oh my gosh she is the BEST!! I started coming to this Starbucks just because of her! She has a smile that will light up your day and she radiates happiness! I seriously love coming in to see her because she just makes my day! Had to give some love to my local Albertsons, I've been in this place at least once a week for a few years, since moving to this neighborhood. Red box and water filling stations at front. Always clean and the employees are always friendly and helpful. It is smaller than some stores but their meats and produce sections are good and prices aren't too bad especially if you check out their sales. I don't use their Sav On so I can't comment on that. Also love that they will open more check out lines if there's more than a few people in line. read more

I came here after work around 1230am. The store was pretty empty and aisles were being restocked...all of which I prefer when grocery shopping. The store itself is a little dated and could use some remodeling and love. While shopping, I was walking down the pasta aisle looking for what I needed and surprise! A HUGE rat scurried across the aisle from one side to the other and disappeared under the shelving. Yeah no. I left my cart and walked out as quickly as I could without running. This location has more vegan items than other Albertsons. I coupon here on a regular basis, so I can attest to some savings! This location has a Starbucks inside, which is a plus when I'm running low on energy & my shopping list is long. They probably have one of the better clearance sections of any grocer around. A few months back I scored 20 bags & 5 boxes of diapers and I didn't spend more than $60. Someone was definitely on my side that day! Always always always check the mark down rack! This is a pretty nice Albertsons. Larger than many I have seen. The produce department has allot of unique items in addition to the stand fare. They had Chayote Squash which I normally can only find in the Asian MTK's. The liquor department is quite impressive and they consistently have some deal going on. The beer and wine selection is pretty impressive and has the quantity of many liquor stores. I like that Albertson's got away from the reward cards. That makes it more straight forward. They always have good weekly sales to get you in the door. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. I always enjoy a trip to this Albertson's and usually leave wig more than I intended to buy. read more

I used to love the selection here, but they apparently don't believe in quality control or checking expiration dates. If you look at the photo I just posted, you can see an entire bag of avocados I bought today were disgusting and rotten. There was mold all over the cherry tomatoes. I went through at least ten containers and didn't find a single one that wasn't spoiled. I found multiple expired cans of coconut milk on the shelf. Albertson's has always been my preferred grocery store to shop at. This particular location has a nice, larger layout. It's also more modern and updated than most locations. Too bad most of the employees here are awful. I keep coming here because it's around the corner from my house and every time I wonder why I come back. I've found expired milk and deli products. The flowers are usually dead. Employees stand around on the sales floor and talk or even better, are talking in the back in the meat department where I can see them through the glass window while I stand there (for a long while) waiting for service. The checkers are slow and often rude, while the baggers will throw items together without any care or thought. I'd definitely recommend going elsewhere unless you're in a pinch. read more

The first time me and my daughter went to the store, it smelled horrible! It was like some raw fish or raw meat got wedged in somewhere and they simply didn't clean it up for a few weeks. We hurried up and got what we needed and ran out. I swore I would never step foot in there again. Well, a few weeks went by and I thought I would try going in there again because I live so close (yes I know, I swore I would never go back, but I guess I figured what the heck ). I figured if it smelled horrible I would just walk right back out no big deal. I was pleasantly surprised that it did not smell bad at all this time. I will try to go again, but if it ever smells like that first time I will walk right back out! And I definitely will not buy any raw meat from there.
