I go to the Albertson's almost every day to get my Starbucks coffee. There's no wifi, but I don't care. I go for the faster service rather than wait at the standalone Bucky's nearer to Charleston. The baristas at this Starbuck's are always very pleasant, lots of fun to chat with, and they remember my order. How could they forget? It's also a place where I have quiet time after the gym to savor my coffee and read the Los Angeles Times. Ah, it makes my mornings! This is also the Albertson's I usually go to for groceries. This Albertsons is close to our house, so we started going here for the convenience. This store quickly became a favorite. Every employee goes out of their way to be helpful, and are extremely friendly. The produce department is well stocked, and has a great selection. They recently updated their display case in the fresh meat and seafood case. it looks great. The king crab legs are quite impressive, and their meat quality is top notch. Service is generally my focus and this store falls flat - often 1 Star. The employees don't care and often share how much they look forward to quitting time. Their demeanor, slow speed, and attitude reflects their disdain for their employer. That being said - Albertsons purchased Vons and the Vons Lucerne products. This is the primary reason I shop here. The dairy and ice cream. If Sprouts or Trader Joe's has these Lucerne products or equivalent quality - I would never shop at Albertsons. My other pet peeve is that they lock the "entrance" doors at dark and force everyone through the exit doors. This is simply retarded and a poor business decision. I hate this practice done by stores. Remodel and have a combination entrance and exit in the middle but stop locking doors during business hours. read more

I asked for happy flowers spring colors for Mother's Day, also what I wanted to spend between 50-60 dollars without vase. She put this together for me in 10 minutes. This is my Albertson's. I go here all of the time. There is a cashier who looks like Santa Claus. He's nice. There is a lot of Asian food here just like the Costco up the street. They have mochi and everything. It's not huge selection, but they do offer a few things. I have been ordering my birthday cakes from this location and each cake is delicious. Please look at the pics I posted. The cakes never have any issues, they are always ready on time and they always taste so good. The last cake I ordered was for my sons 5th birthday and I ordered a dinosaur cake. They made mountains and lava and even put on plastic dino toys. It was marble with fudge filling and whipped topping. The fudge was so good. I was scared at first because I thought it might taste gross but it tasted just like the Hershey's fudge out of the jar. I honestly want to order another cake just to get the fudge. This Alberston's is always clean and well stocked. They have the carts that have cars attached in the front for our kids and they also have miniature carts that kids can push. read more

This Albertsons is one that my Fiancé and myself went to a lot. We needed to get a prescription filled for our cat that has Diabetes. We just got him back from the animal hospital and we were both a little emotional. I showed up to the pharmacy to get his insulin and needles for our new lifestyle and I was greeted in a way I have never been greeted before," we close in 5 minutes ", I looked at the young lady and said I understood, but we had to get insulin for our car who just got out of the hospital, and she replied with, " that is very expensive here, you should go to to Walmart or someplace else", and I told her that I didn't care about the price I just needed it so I could give my cat his shot. She then stated again "but we close in 5 minutes ". By this time I am getting very upset with how I am being treated and told her I just need this insulin for my cat, I don't care if you close in 5 minutes, and she responded with " well we have to type it all in and that takes time" and I responded with by the time this conversation is over you could of had it typed up correct? And she took the prescription from me and walked away and as she did, to my self I called her a b****. Well to my surprise the pharmacist was standing there watching me, and she smiled at, so I smiled back thinking to myself I probably shouldn't of said that. The pharmacist walked up, and told me that I can't just show up to a place 5 minutes before they close, and call somebody a b****. I responded with I haven't been treated nice the entire time I have been here, and that they should really work on there customer service skills. She then said well if you are going to call people b****es then you should take you prescription and go some where else, so I responded by grabbing my prescription back and telling her that it had nothing to do with the choice of words I had, and that it had everything to do with the fact that they close in 5 minutes and didn't want to help me and I called her a b****. This was the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. From the time I walked up and was greeted with the old " we close in 5 minutes " , to the very end.me and my fiancé have spent a lot of money in that Albertsons and we will now be taking our business elsewhere. read more

This is a pretty good supermarket. It is always clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoy their wing bar, and their selection of pre-made sandwiches. The meat section is pretty small, and there don't seem to be as many choices in the refrigerated food sections as I've seen in other supermarkets. The main complaint is that Albertson's can be a bit more expensive than some other supermarkets. They've discontinued their shoppers card, and occasionally do have some good specials, but in comparison, they do tend to trend on the higher side. *** Note, Albertson's no longer offers self-checkout. I am really disappointed, it was a lot quicker than standing in line. read more

Giving this store 1 star because of this old black lady wearing a short curly wig at the meat section that completely ignored me big time. She was doing something at the back but still facing towards the front, walks up to the fridge in front of me, puts a tray of marinated chicken (?), and I tell her I needed 2 lbs of chicken thighs, still ignores me, walks past me and pretends to not see me, back to her original spot! I'm writing this review because Chloeh in the bakery department is THE BEST. I came across her Instagram when I was looking for someone to make a small graduation cake for after the ceremony. She did such a phenomenal job that a week later we ordered a graduation cake for the party which was much bigger. She noticed I had an infant with me and went way above and beyond when she noticed I had a stroller full of products. She helped me place everything onto the belt at checkout, fetched me a shopping cart and even walked me all the way out and loaded my bags into the car! She was soo friendly to boot! * Gas rewards possible For a corporate mega-market, it's pretty nice. I like it better than the Von's stores in the area. If you can visit on a weekday morning (avoid the frenzy), you'll likely have a pleasant experience. I'm a job seeker so I can always time my excursions to avoid Type A shoppers. Something you'll notice right away: Deluxe shopping carts. So many stores have carts that are caked in grime. They're coated with sticky secretions and have wobbly wheels. I don't know if I just made a lucky grab, but my cart was like new. It glided smoothly over the linoleum floor. It handled like a sports car. It's a clean store with spacious aisles of nicely displayed merchandise. There are aisles and aisles of merchandise. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for the arrangement of the merchandise, so I get plenty of exercise hiking from one end of the vast space to the other trying to track down a few items. It would be nice if they would print a map of the store. Do you think they would? HELL no. Several employees greeted me cheerfully and asked if I needed help finding something, which of course I did. What I need is a personal guide. Right by the exit, they have a display of chips and dips. I'm not sure whether you're supposed to grab these on the way in or if they are thoughtfully placed there to satisfy a last-minute urge. What are you supposed to do? Run back in after you just finished an exhausting shopping ordeal? I guess some people do. What if you have an eating disorder and you scrupulously avoided the snack section? In any case, they have your best interest at heart. They don't want you to get all they way home and slap yourself upside the head: I FORGOT THE CHIPS! For a grocery store, they have a decent beer selection. They had Widmer on sale for $15 a short case down from $18. $15 is still too high for Widmer even if it is one of the finest brews on the market. I picked up a 6-pack of Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA for $10. Fine beer! (Get it for $7 at Lee's Discount.) To get their special deals, you have to produce the Albertsons club card they always swore they would never have. They won't remind you to use your card. It's up to you to remember. The cashiers already have enough on their mind passing items over the scanner, Like any retailer, the store is too hot on a chilly morning. It's part of the retail strategy to make shopping as uncomfortable and stressful as possible. The shirtsleeved employees are cool whereas you're sweating in a jacket. They want you to be miserable so you'll splurge on sugar-saturated beverages and stress-relieving snacks. This store has TV sets at the checkout lines. It's very considerate of Albertsons to provide stimulation while we kill time waiting for our groceries to be processed over the scanners. If you don't have any calls to make, no one to text, no funny videos on your iPhone, those TVs are a godsend. You can watch commercials. There is also a TV in the produce area in case you get bored contemplating Navel oranges. They have self-check terminals. I never use them if I can avoid it because something usually goes wrong. You get error messages like PLEASE CALL FOR ASSISTANCE. There's no one to call. A plus for self-check: The machine does prompt you to scan your club card. It's somewhat annoying that vendors are busy stocking shelves in the morning. They block the aisles and expect you to work around them. On this visit, the Coke dude was piling twelve packs onto a shelf. He graciously stepped aside when I approached. We had a quick chat. He's new on the job and grateful to be employed. Give him time. He'll develop the same surly attitude as the others. They're not employees of the store, so they don't give a shit about shoppers. When they bark out announcements over the PA system, they shout. It makes no sense. That's why you have a microphone. You're alone with your thoughts in the Asian food section when suddenly they blast you with an ear-splitting announcement. They're going to give someone a heart attack. A manager explained to me that the stores are built without speakers in the back. They have to yell over the PA system so workers in the back will hear. They save fifty bucks on construction costs but torture shoppers daily. At least they make sure no one falls asleep evaluating the tortilla selection. Other retailers use bluetooth technology to yell at each other. This concept is too modern for the hidebound grocery business. Since grocery shopping is a necessary evil and a distasteful chore at best, and considering that Albertsons is generally a horrible place to shop, getting your groceries here isn't so bad. Gas rewards: If you spend $50 on groceries, you can save 5 cents a gallon on gas (up to 20 gallons) at Albertsons Express (4055 S Durango). A dolluh! Nothing to sneeze at, right? read more

Located on Charleston where there are no less than 10 other grocery stores within a 5 mile stretch I stopped in here for a couple of items early Saturday morning only to find them sold out of frozen broccoli. Sold out at 8am? Was there some sort of rush that I was unaware of on an item that costs 30 cents more a pound than the Smith's, Vons, or Walmart down the road? Sure the folks here are friendly and sure the store is clean, but if you're going to overcharge me the least you can do is keep your shelves stocked. read more

Never coming back to this location again! We stopped here to get a few things and used two carts, my infant in one and my 3 year old in the other. When we left, we had left my 3 year old's sippy cup in the basket. When we realized this, we returned to the store (25 minutes later) and my husband asked the clerk if someone had turned it in. She calls the manager who says nobody turned anything in. He comes back out to the car and see the cup in the bushes! He takes a pic and goes back in to tell the manager. The clerk calls the manager to the front and she could've cared less. He showed her the picture and she just shrugged and said said she'd talk to the clerk. I know it's "just a cup" to you, but it's my sons special sippy cup and the least the courtesy clerk could've done is turned it in, not littered their own property with it. Everyone at this Albertsons is awesomely accommodating and helpful. They helped me open up my rewards account as well as helping me with some exchanges. They've been super nice and the store is fully stocked and clean. The cakes are always moist never dry and the cookies are very addicting... in a good way. I would advice more cake selection but over all great place keep it up!!! The employees are always there to help or direct me to what I am looking for. I only go to this location because it's near work. It would be nice if their cashiers saw what was going on at the payment terminal. They don't need to get snippy because their technology blows. I went to insert my debit card and terminal was blank. I asked if it was working. Cashier says "yes! It's working!" Insert, pin screen pops up and I begin to enter the first 2 digits when the screen completely blanks out. Cashier says "you have to wait for it to ask!" Wtf? The transaction starts all over again. I love this location, not only because I know where everything is, but because the same people have been working here for years! I think that says a lot to the company to have a low employee turnover rate. Kevin is always so helpful bagging at checkout and keeping the carts out of the parking lot. Kathy in the floral department handled my flowers (Flowers by Kathy) she was so wonderful to work with. My florist went out of business a couple months before my wedding and left me stranded. Kathy swooped in and made sure everything we right! My bouqet was amazing and was exactly what I was looking for! She arrived right on time to the location and made sure everybody had what they needed and that I really liked everything before she left. I would use her again in a heart beat! I also got our wedding cake from Albertson's bakery, I had seen the exact one I wanted at a bridal show. I showed her the picture I took on my camera and she knew exactly what I wanted. They gave me a cake sample platter that I could take home with and try with cake, icings, and fillings. All I had to do was call in and let them know what I wanted. Kathy (florist) delivered the cake as well and helped save me $ on the delivery fee. I was so impressed with the service and quality I got from everyone I would recommend them to anyone no matter what budget you're on! read more

It was a couple minutes to 1 am and I walked in because I needed just a few things, but heard an announcement that was the equivalent to "hurry up and get out." At the register, I asked Crystal if they were open 24 hours? She said no, and that no grocery stores are open 24 hours. I told her the Smith's down this street on Charleston and on Tropicana both were 24 hours, she pretty much said I was a liar. Fine customer service if I've ever seen it. Pretty sad. read more

First it was a Vons which was a rip off then it was Hagan's which lasted about three months and they were ripoffs and had hardly any selection. right by a buddy of mine's place where I hang out a lot and it's very convenient when I leave his place to come here and pick up whatever I need from my home. Yesterday was the last straw for my boyfriend and I. I will no longer be a customer at ANY Albertsons! I have multiple problems with Albertsons every time I have visited their locations. Which isn't very often I only stop by when I'm in a hurry because it's closer than Smiths(my all time favorite store) will be giving them a 5 star rating and review right after this. So let's go back to yesterday. Boyfriend and I go to customer service to at around 2 pm not to busy we were helped right away! Cheryl the lady behind the counter ask how she can help us we proceed to explain that we need a money order for $1350 she thought we had asked for $13.50( who gets a money order for that?) we corrected her and she proceeds to say okay we'll have to do three different money orders. We knew that and continued with our transaction. She pulls out a blank piece of paper and writes down the amounts for each money order $500, $500, and $350. We then explained that we will be paying with two separate cards after she had gotten us all rang up for the money orders. She then had to call over an associate to help her because she was new and didn't know how to split a transaction on two different cards. The lady came over explained to her and continued our transaction we slide both of cards they are approved. Then the two ladies turn to the money order machine look at each other like dumb and dumber and ask if the machine is back up and running!! Mind you they have already taken our $1350. At this point I am a little aggravated a trip that should have taken no more than 5-10 minutes has turned into a fiasco. Now the lady is telling me that they'll have to refund the money back to our cards. That's not happening because my boyfriends card puts a 48 hold on any money returned to his card and my work pay card only allows money to be put on from our partner companies. So with that being said they go get a Manager to help us. One of the rudest people I have ever had to deal with. After about 10 minutes of waiting she finally shows up with her resting bitch face and completely ignores me, yet I am the costumer and she should have came directly to me to see what the problem was. Walks over to the machine and says to her employee "they aren't getting cash back the money is going on their cards. I say excuse me ma'am! So I could explain to her the situation with our cards. No response completely ignores me and the lady next to her says she wants to speak with you. And she turned to her employee and says I'm busy and holds her hand up in my face!! At this point I'm fuming my boyfriend is on the phone I ask him to get off the phone bc she would not listen to me. He then proceeds to get off the phone and his stern Marine voice finally got the old hags attention. She then tried to explain to us why we were not allowed the cash back and why it needed to be put on our cards. We then AGAIN had to explain our card situation to us. She then cuts us off again and says well we don't accept those cards here! Oh so your company doesn't accept FDIC acclaimed Visa cards?? At this point my boyfriend who has business degrees gives her a little informative class on banks and the FDIC. By this time she is flabbergasted and gives us the cash back to go PAY OUR RENT and ushers is out of the store! oh mind you this, the "manager" we dealt with Melissa Schaefer is the CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER! If you are the customer service manager you'd think she know how to talk and treat CUSTOMERS. Nope she only got her title as such by being with the company for so long and working up the chain. She doesn't deserve that shiny little managers badge at all! Will be contacting corporate with a follow up complaint. read more

Great location, always well stocked and the staff is always friendly. Generally Albertsons is a little higher priced than other grocery stores but they always have good sales to offset that . The bakery makes great cakes and custom cakes. I had a few custom cakes made and they were all fantastic in quality for looks and for taste. read more
