I had a double delight tonight at Safeway on Stark Street. First at the floral counter where an associate with long black hair and beard went above and beyond to help me fill a balloon ball with helium. I could tell they were cutting me a break to fill something I didn't buy in store but on top of that they looked like they were leaving for the night but stayed back to help me. I apparently messed up the opening of the balloon trying to fill it myself because someone at Fred Meyer had tried to fill it last week but gave up after 5 minutes when it wasn't filling - which was totally fair. I thought I'd have to throw it away. I regret that I didn't ask for their name because I was so impressed with their determination and perseverance. They didn't overcharge me either--i didn't pay for the repair just the helium. Really above and beyond great service!! Then when checking out, Cameron was so kind to hold the register open for me past the end of their shift even though I had a very full cart, did a fantastic job ringing everything up and bagging things for me and was so friendly with me and my son. Typical Safeway...put items on sale and then still charge FULL PRICE at the register. This is the second time I've had to tell them the item was on sale. This is the 21st century! How hard is it to have CRM software that coordinates with sale prices to ring up correctly at checkout??! I don't think that they bother to do so. This is the most conveniently located supermarket to me. Finally had to make the call to never go here again. 3 times in a row sales prices don't ring up. Some do. Some don't. We are talking $20+ per trip. Every time I had to find the items on the receipt that didn't get discounted correctly. Every time I had to wait at customer service. Every time they said I was right and it's a thing that happens. With the amount of corporate greed this company has they've crossed the line. One thing to charge too much. Another to have things ring up at higher price then it should. The deli food sucks. The prices are higher than elsewhere. It's further but I'm a WinCo customer now. I shop at the store on NE 181 and Glisan in Gresham. I used to have to go to Fred Meyer in Wood Village for my produce but in the past year or so, I now buy all of my groceries here as they're really fresh. They even have a deli and fresh sliced meat! read more

I forgot about Albertsons. I was pleasantly surprised when I wonder the last time. The store was clean and had an inviting feeling. I especially like the one where Isles because they made me feel safer. There were as well stocked as any other grocery store in the area. The parking lot was decent anyways easy to get in and out of. The one thing that I didn't like though, was the self-checkout machines. They were way too close to each other, and I felt that I kept bumping into other customers. Tons of issues with food quality and customer service. They purposely put extra stickers on rotten areas of melons so you can't see them. They have expired milk in the case every time. The people bagging did not load an entire bag of steaks. Good thing we realized it. A manager said he would give a gift card, and another one stepped in and stopped him. Clearly, some manager is receiving a bonus for cheaping out. They'll pay when people stop shopping here. read more

This is my favorite Albertsons store to shop at. It's located in the heart of Troutdale close to Mount Hood Community College. The parking lot is spacious and never too busy. It is also nice there is a Mobil gas station right next door. The Deli has good fried chicken and jojos. It is great that you can choose the option to get legs and thighs instead of just the regular mixed pieces. The prices on the deli items are reasonable as well. The fruits and vegetables are moderately priced with a good selection of organic items to choose from. There is also a Starbucks located inside the store. Overall, this is a good store to shop at and has all the essentials you need in a grocery store. read more

Here's a 2nd review from me for this store about 4 months after my last review. Just went to this store again today..should have known better...anyway, the frozen eggs display. Every single dozen egg carton contained broken eggs. So, when I went up to the check out to pay my bill, I mentioned it to the checker. She said I should have rearranged the eggs around to make up a full dozen of non broken eggs!!!! REALLY!!??!! I don't work there! She couldn't tell a worker in the diary department to check into it and have that person fix the issue!!??!! I was telling her because she's the first employee I came in contact with and thought maybe the store would want to know so THEY can fix the problem so the next customer wouldn't have to sort through a bunch of broken eggs!! And at their high prices, you'd think they would be selling unbroken eggs!! How rude!!! read more

It's easy to see why Safeway/Albertsons chain us in trouble and why the Safeway at Cherry Park Hill shuttered after being taken over by Albertsons. Customer service is terrible. I got ping-ponged all over the store by the same employees passing the buck trying to just get the advertised sale price on a couple of items. Finally got bounced to the customer service counter where another customer was chewing them out obviously dissatisfied herself. I got disgusted with trying to just buy the items and give them my money that I just left all the crap in the cart and walked out. I won't be back. The app is required to buy sale items and I'm pretty tech savvy and it's about the clumsiest, most convoluted and user-unfriendly app I've seen. Just deleted it from my phone. Literally the worst. Like overpriced food? Enjoy a guaranteed wait at checkout? Have I got the one stop shopping experience for you! Ladies and gentlemen I give you....Troutdale Albertsons!! I come here more often than I like, which is maybe once a month, due to me living just across the street. It's always out of desperation, and I tell my wife to slap me every time I say I'm stopping at Albertsons. Not only is every single item here overpriced, it's often close/past expiration. Literally just stopped here on my way home and a lot of the Milk was 4 pays past the sell by date. The rest of it had sell by dates within 2-4 days from purchase. Every other retailer in the city sells milk with at least 2 weeks sell by from the current date. To top it off a gallon of milk was 3-4 dollars. These are plaid pantry/7-11 prices at a major grocery chain! Not to mention on multiple occasions the ice cream has been terrible, it appeared to have been completely melted then refroze, and had a strong freezer burn taste. Always satisfying to pay 5 bucks for a Haagen Daz then to crack it open and get that! After collecting my overpriced goods I proceeded to the usual 5 minute wait in the checkout line. Never mind the fact that this was 9:30 pm on a Sunday, not exactly prime time. This location used to have self checkout like every single other grocery store in the United States, but someone had the genius idea to rip them all out and replace them with "express" checkout lines, which out of the 3 lines only 1 maybe 2 are ever staffed. In summary, do yourself a favor and drive 5 minutes to a Fred Meyers, or in all honestly just swing by a convenience store, odds are the prices will be the same and you will still get through the checkout process twice as fast. read more

When you read national reviews of Albertson's stores, you begin to see a pattern. The one I deal with fits that pattern to a T: rude service, long lines at check out, quality all over the board, exorbitant prices, advertised items "out" (and no recipes for rain checks). But it is the rudeness above all that I resent. I gave it what it deserves, If in fact your not a nit wit, you might have some understanding of business. The people inside the store take in and care of ( what's in the store) not what's shipped an the condition of it when it was shipped they have to take what they get, got it, and just like any other business, they sometimes have to dispose some of that Most all the bad reviews in here have not one clue what goes on there. ok bimart pharmacy closed up and transferd to walgreens then my meds were to expensive so i first called walgreens to transfer my meds to albertsons troutdale pharmacy,, walgreens told i need to have alberstons fax for my meds ,, alberstons reacived them on 12/2/2019, its now 12/6/2019 still have not filled my meds and i needed them filled so i called alberstsons and today there was only 1 person running the pharmacy for 12 hours no other staff ,, walgreens has 4 staff so does walmart kind of mad at bimart for closing there pharmacy read more

On the Troutdale/ Gresham border lies this Albertson's store. The checkers are fairly friendly and the store feels pretty empty (might be due to it's hugeness). They have a small "hippy" section that could be expanded on. Not much else to say about a generic chain grocery store. read more

Look forward to long lines at any given time of day or eve with a side of cashiers that hate their jobs and take it out on the shoppers. I'm a frequent shopper at this Albertsons location. Clean, staff friendly and prices are reasonable. Deli has great chicken and fresh ready-made foods. I've stopped in to get a whole chicken already cooked for dinner to save time after a long day. Such a timesaver! My compliments to the produce section. Produce always fresh and organic items are plentiful. Meat and seafood counter can be a bit slow, but always fresh cuts. WOW... The bakery staff seems to care less and has ignored me and/or my son, (they offer free chocolate chip cookies to kids!), while they talk amongst themselves. The store is undergoing remodel right now, but the layout appears to be much better. Parking lot clean and ample. I love that Walgreens is in the same parking lot. One less trip when doing errands! read more

If you want customer service don't plan on getting it here. Come here once a week and no one has ever greeted me or asked me if I had any questions or anything.. They don't seem to happy about their jobs. Only get 2 stars because they have good bagels and the kid shopping carts are cool for my daughter. Otherwise stay away. My son just broke his ankle and he wanted to use his crutches in the Store But while walking in the store he realized how hard the crutches were to use and just then a young lady probley from the bakery offered a scotter for him and of course he was so happy. This girl was so nice to him and when the chair wouldnt move she got someone too just to help my son. We of course said thank u But I dont think they know how much just being nice to him meant to me. I was there yesterday (1/3/18) as it was convenient. I purchased 2 pkgs of Johnsonville bulk Italian sausage, Erlick (?) Keiblasa and some other products. When I got back home, I discovered the Italian sausage packs had no "best if used by date); and the Keiblasa had a hidden date of best if used by 12/17/17.......unbelievable that this store charges full price for outdated food items. I've had this problem before at this store and it's a problem. Why should the customer ALWAYS have to look at or for the "best if used by date" when the products should be current. It's illegal for them to sell this outdated food without (1) putting it on sale and (2) posting a sign that the food product is beyond the "use by" date. Also, the store knew about the metal food cart storage unit collapsing in their parking lot; I reported it also to the checker. Her comment "we only have a young gal here and I don't think she can pull the metal out of the parking lot." I wonder if this potential hazard ever got taken care of....it's located at the west side of their parking lot; near Great Clips. And the store is going downhill......lots of debris in the "cart" storage area....too bad that management doesn't see this....after all aren't they in business because of their customers. If you love sushi, you should try theirs. It's fresh and if the sushi guy is there behind the counter, he will make you whatever you want, lickety split. Great for a dinner take-home. Compared to restaurant prices, it's a value. I also really like the express lines, and that I can get in and out of there PDQ! read more
