It's reminded me of a Super Walmart just way more organized. Everything is where it was suppose to be. Really how many times have you walked into a Walmart and found a rubber ball in the bread department or a pack of frozen hamburger defrosting in the can soup section? People just don't think. I looked to find things out of place and didn't see anything. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm saying there was so much staff that it taken care of right away if needed. Aside from the food, there's a craft section, an auto section, a hardware section, a garden section, well you get the idea. And this particular Fred Meyer is the smaller one for the area. THE SMALLER ONE?!?!?!? Overall four stars. This place has everything. I'm not giving five stars because I wasn't here long enough to really justify it. But it's close to being there. I could tell they were cutting me a break to fill something I didn't buy in store but on top of that they looked like they were leaving for the night but stayed back to help me. I apparently messed up the opening of the balloon trying to fill it myself because someone at Fred Meyer had tried to fill it last week but gave up after 5 minutes when it wasn't filling - which was totally fair. I thought I'd have to throw it away. I regret that I didn't ask for their name because I was so impressed with their determination and perseverance. They didn't overcharge me either--i didn't pay for the repair just the helium. Really above and beyond great service!! Then when checking out, Cameron was so kind to hold the register open for me past the end of their shift even though I had a very full cart, did a fantastic job ringing everything up and bagging things for me and was so friendly with me and my son. On top of that, there didn't seem to be much care taken when bagging my items. For example, I purchased a hot rotisserie chicken for dinner, and it was placed at the very bottom of the bag -- underneath other groceries. The heat from the container actually melted my cookies. It was disappointing because I chose to go through a cashier hoping for better service. I understand everyone has off days, but a little friendliness and attention to how groceries are packed would have made a big difference.
