When we first started going this was a nice affordable way to spend a Saturday afternoon, and purchase a couple of pumpkins. I do not know what has happened. These events have become overly commercial and very expensive. All of the activities now take tickets. There was a slide that cost 2 dollars. This seemed exceedingly expensive. It used to be the activities were free, but you paid for food, the pumpkins, etc. I can understand charging for a hayride which we rode, and I have to say it was very nice , relaxing and fun. Both my 15 year old and 6 year old enjoyed this hayride. There is a lot to do, and the activities are fun. However, as stated above, you will pay for everything you do or eat here. The corn maze was fun, but a bit short. The highlight was the hayride. They did have a guy playing guitar and singing country types of songs. He was quite good, and the music added to the atmosphere. The hours are 12-4 which really should be expanded to end at 5 or 6. The bottom line is we had a good time, but spent over $75 for a 2 1/2 hour visit. This is not a very good value.

Julie quickly emailed me back and got me in contact with Kate, their houseplant expert. I request hearty indoor plants for my friend since she doesn't have the biggest green thumb and they recommended these - spider plant and philodendron. They were super quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and delivered promptly. My friend loved it and sent the pictures of the delivered plants! Great place!

What an incredibly rude owner. I purchased a bottle of Inis Spray Cologne as a gift for my daughter…read morerecently. When she opened the box (it was not cellophane wrapped), it was only 2/3 full. I returned to the store, and the woman at the counter opened two other boxes of the same size for a possible exchange. One was about 1/2 full and the other was missing a smaller amount, still not full. Their solution? Offer me the fullest one or pour some from another bottle--what?! Larger sizes were cellophane wrapped, making me wonder if these had been testers. When I asked for a refund, stating that it is a defective product, the owner was called to the front and condescendingly refused, offering store credit only. I had spent a total of $232 at the store the day I purchased the cologne, just a week prior! The young girl at the counter was extremely kind and apologetic. However, the owner clearly does not stand behind her products or value customers. I have made many purchases at this store over the years. I will not be returning!

Wow what a dive this took. Prices went up, customer service went down…read more I went in, asking for advice about a plant my mother, who passed away, had given me. It is really special to me that the plant lives as long as it can. The older man at the counter said, "Have you tried not worrying about it? It's going to do whatever it wants." That was his ONLY *advice*. I asked him about maybe adding a rooting agent and he said that was a good idea and then *instructed* me on how to use a rooting agent... incorrectly. If a plant isn't growing it's the environment that needs to change. You can't leave it up to the plant. This is basic gardening logic. I needed advice adjusting the environment -- soil, nutrients, a grow light -- not complete apathy. This garden center has the highest prices of any in the area, but I'd pay it for people who care and know what they're doing. I'm not paying $10 for rooting agent (which I already have) and an extra surcharge of the audacity.

The owners rather than offering help or to replace it where VERY nasty and said that its my fault the plant is not doing well and would not replace it. I purposely shop at small garden centers like this one to support the small and local businesses. I left very upset. I didn't argue or get overheated. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shouldn't it be a their goal to treat the customer well and make sure their happy! I explained to them I just had a similar experience at another local shop, Uncle Ed's Creamery, who made a simple mistake with a purchase. Not only did they replace it, they gave me a gift certificate!!! Thanks Uncle Ed's. I will NO longer shop The Living Earth. I have spent LOTS of money supporting their business, but I will NO longer shop here. What a HORRIBLE and BULLYING experience. Mrs. A

I tried calling multiple times and received no response. When I finally reached the office, I spoke with a man named Dave who said they were "too busy" and abruptly hung up on me. I called back and the same person answered. When I politely asked to speak with someone else in the office or the owner, he raised his voice in an aggressive and rude manner and said he was the owner and snapped, "What do you want, I am the owner of this company?" At that point, I hung up. An entire afternoon wasted, zero accountability, and shockingly disrespectful treatment of a potential customer. If this is how they treat people before earning your business, I can only imagine how they treat paying customers. Very disappointing and completely unprofessional.
