Wow what a dive this took. Prices went up, customer service went down. I went in, asking for advice about a plant my mother, who passed away, had given me. It is really special to me that the plant lives as long as it can. The older man at the counter said, "Have you tried not worrying about it? It's going to do whatever it wants." That was his ONLY *advice*. I asked him about maybe adding a rooting agent and he said that was a good idea and then *instructed* me on how to use a rooting agent... incorrectly. If a plant isn't growing it's the environment that needs to change. You can't leave it up to the plant. This is basic gardening logic. I needed advice adjusting the environment -- soil, nutrients, a grow light -- not complete apathy. This garden center has the highest prices of any in the area, but I'd pay it for people who care and know what they're doing. I'm not paying $10 for rooting agent (which I already have) and an extra surcharge of the audacity. read more

Today I had a HORRIBLE experience at The Living Earth. I went in to try and get a plant replaced that I purchased several weeks ago because plant is not doing well at all. The owners rather than offering help or to replace it where VERY nasty and said that its my fault the plant is not doing well and would not replace it. I purposely shop at small garden centers like this one to support the small and local businesses. I left very upset. I didn't argue or get overheated. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shouldn't it be a their goal to treat the customer well and make sure their happy! I explained to them I just had a similar experience at another local shop, Uncle Ed's Creamery, who made a simple mistake with a purchase. Not only did they replace it, they gave me a gift certificate!!! Thanks Uncle Ed's. I will NO longer shop The Living Earth. I have been there several times and the service is always unfriendly and rude. They are overpriced, but they have the selection of plants that I look for. When I made my last purchase and was walking it to my vehicle, the employee walked out and followed me asking me if I had purchased the item. Her accusatory tone was unnecessary and disrespectful. If you are going to insinuate that I was actively stealing something you better have some evidence. I've tolerated the low level of service here long enough and won't be coming back. read more

Rude from start to finish. One younger guy who works mostly outside is helpful but the owner(s) are snobs. They're prone to hanging up on customers or at best arguing with them like they're the only people who know anything about gardening. See other reviews (toward the bottom of course!). Great local business! Plants are top quality & beautifully taken care of before consumer purchase. It's your go to nursery if deer are an issue at your home, as they feature deer resistant plantings. The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly & helpful. Nice selection of gift items, & it's where we get our annual Christmas wreath. read more

Pricey!!! Plants are a good value as they are really high quality. Some items are way over priced. Bought a Christmas item for $57 and found it a couple of days later at Buckmans for $39. Ouch! read more

Bucks County beware, do not do business with these folks! Husband and wife owners maintain a growing/distribution area near a food pantry in Doylestown, where many newly food insecure people (like myself) have to unfortunately visit from time to time. Food pantry clients sometimes make the mistake of blocking their driveway, and are met with insane harrassment and intimidation by the owners of this business. When confronted about why such an extreme response was necessary, their explanation is that "those people" meaning the food pantry clients, ruin their property values and that they don't want "those people" in their neighborhood. I understand blocking a driveway is frustrating, but the owners of The Living Earth stalk and harass the food pantry clients on a regular basis. I witnessed this many times myself, and had no idea that these bullies owned this business! Bucks County residents that aren't super wealthy, these owners think you are subhuman and it's time to finally expose them. I'm sure they will try to get this review taken down, but I will not stop until a public apology is made and the harrassment ends. read more

This is definitely my go to nursery and store for great, creative gifts. The employees are always helpful and friendly and they always give great advice. It is a tad on the pricey side but that's very common for this area. I honestly enjoy shopping here and look forward to any trip I have to take to the living earth. My goals for landscaping and interior decorating are understood by by any of their knowledgeable staff and I'm always pointed in the right direction. I love having the store less than five minutes away from where I live. I highly recommend checking it out, even if you're not five minutes away, it's well worth the trip! read more

My favorite plant store ever! My girlfriend and I come here at least twice a month to check in and see what wonderful plants have been stocked. The owners are kind and patient with us as we ask numerous questions about our new plants. Better yet, the prices are unbeatable! We've been able to fill our home with fantastic finds ever since we moved into town. read more

The Living Earth supplied succulents and planters for my daughter's wedding in May of 2017. Unfortunately, The Living Earth's supplier didn't have the planters that she selected in stock. The Living Earth's owner was very apologetic and provided her with several other planter options. He promised to make her day special which he did. The Living Earth exceeded her expectations! We were very pleased with the wedding favors that The Living Earth provided. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The owner was amazing. I am an avid gardener and have shopped in pretty much every place in a 50 mile radius. Spring Valley Nurseries and Living Earth are my ABSOLUTE favorites!!! The people that work there couldn't be more helpful, even calling me when plants I was looking for head come in and when possible ordering things specifically for me. Their prices are reasonable, and they have a great selection. I always manage to find something new and different. I would give both places 10 stars if I could! read more

Beautiful nursery, but SO overpriced and the owner is too snooty for her own good. Last time we were there my boyfriend removed a bush from his order and when she asked why, he said it was a beautiful bush but he has seen them cheaper. She immediately became rude and replied "well my prices are high because of the quality". Or something like that. And then walked away. No thanks! read more

This place is beautiful and I want to buy everything in it. Unlike some places like Robertsons that have garden-themed gifts, everything in this store was so affordable. They had a lot of shabby chic items but I also loved their hanging air planters and succulents. They had all the ingredients to make almost anything you could want (or see on pinterest). I got plants in adorable terra cotta pots and locally milled soaps because I needed gifts, but I will definitely be going back to get some basil and olive plants as well as some of the tiny little plants they had to make a planter for my house. This place is amazing and I can't believe in the fifteen years that I've been hanging out in new hope I've never been in this place until today. So tragic. read more

I have purchased thousands of dollars of plants from this store since they opened and will never buy here again. I stopped by to buy some plants as this is my local plant store. In my second bad experience with the owner in the last two weeks she has left me cold. When I asked, during my last visit, about how to judge the quality of a certain species she accused me of asking so that I might take her advice and buy the plants elsewhere! I had no intention of driving another 15 miles to go to the next closest plant store. The previous bad experience was me asking when a certain plant may arrive. As she was working on something she did not turn around to answer me but simply replied 'I guess when I order them'. And that was that. I started to leave after saying thanks and as she realized she had been a bit rude/short with me she chased me out the door to try to sound as if she cared. Couldn't happen. I will in the future drive those extra miles to Bountiful Acres on Hwy. 202. In addition to Bountiful Acres there is Froelich's on Hwy. 263 and another good choice on 202. Any of these places will treat you well and be happy to take your money. As an aside, and to leave a somewhat balanced review, the employees there have always been great and helpful.
