A truly exceptional KOA experience. This team turned a stressful situation into a blessing. My boyfriend and I broke down in Albuquerque on our way to Phoenix, and by pure luck we found this KOA just a few minutes away. We pulled in around midnight, exhausted and stressed, and were greeted by the kindest soul, Sandy. She listened to our situation with genuine care, checked us in with a smile, and immediately made us feel safe and supported. You can tell that Sandy loves her job and truly cares about the people who come through this park. Her kindness that night set the tone for everything that followed, and I will never forget that first interaction. What we thought would be a one-week stay has now turned into several weeks while our truck is being repaired, and the entire KOA staff has gone above and beyond for us. When we came back to the office to break the news that our situation had gotten much worse, Kellie and Justin stepped in right away, booked us for the month, applied every discount they could, and genuinely tried to help us save money. They didn't treat us like "just another reservation" they treated us like real people going through something hard, and that level of compassion is rare. The hiring manager has struck gold with this team. Every employee we've met has been kind, helpful, and clearly invested in keeping this park running smoothly. The property is clean, well-maintained, and feels safe. There is nightly security, the laundry room is spotless (which is NOT the norm for many RV parks), and you can tell the staff works around the clock to take care of the grounds. Our site is spacious with plenty of room between neighbors, and every person we've met here has been friendly and respectful. The views are beautiful, and we've genuinely felt at peace here, even in the middle of a really stressful life moment. I'll be honest, I had sworn off KOAs in the past after several disappointing experiences... but this KOA changed my entire perspective. Because of Sandy, Kellie, Justin, and the rest of the team here, I will happily give KOA another chance at future stops, this is what every KOA should aim to be. I had to stay another day for work on my truck and I was offered 20% off on "add a day" Then they charged me full price, This was the exact employee who told me it was 20% discount to add a day. We took our dogs to the dog park, and when we open the second gate, the dog that was inside charged out and attacked our dogs. As we were separating the dogs, the owner ran over screaming "f you" over and over. So, not only were our dogs being attacked, we were being screamed at. The man ended up pushing my husband all because his dog should not have been anywhere near a dog park. Turns out, that man is an employee of KOA named David. Rocko, the manager, tried to justify the whole thing by saying that not all dogs get along. That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard, since the rules of the dog park state that mean dogs should not be allowed. Also, David's dog being an issue is less of a problem. The fact that an employee would curse at paying customers AND put his hands on them is insane. David and Rocko need to get a new job because they make this entire place terrible. read more

This was our second stay at a KOA and we stayed the night at the individual tent site. It was great except for the crickets singing ALL. NIGHT. LONG. We were threatened with a thunderstorm but one never came, just high winds. The kids thought it was "so cool" to be in a tent in a storm. Lol We were greeted by friendly staff when we arrived. The kids had fun riding the little bikes around the camp ground. We stayed again and no crickets this time but we did have some rain. The kids had a blast inside our tent with the rain. Let me start by saying we did not have an RV, we were camping for the night. It's a pretty basic spot, very close to the highway, which is convenient when you're driving a lot. The surrounding neighborhood is a little scary, but the entire property is fenced in. While their RV facilities may be good, this is not a place I would recommend to camp in a tent. They only have a few spots designated for tents and they are all under a GIANT highway billboard with incredibly bright spotlights attached to it. You can hear every single car on the highway and it just isn't peaceful at all. Add this to the fact that there were terrible winds that night as well (obviously not the fault of the campground), and every time a gust came through it tried to lift our tents! Our bodies were literally the only things keeping them from blowing away. A good place to stop if you have anywhere indoors to sleep, but not if you're going to be outside. read more

I want to give this place five stars but I just can't. The sites are super clean and private. There is a pool, hotel tub, mini golf, so many amenities!! Bill checked us in and was very nice. Considering the private water spout, nice showers and bathrooms, and electrical charging station, we had everything that we needed. My one complaint is that the tent sites are just so close to the highway the road noise is impossible. I'm sure it's fine in an RV or one of the cabins, but it made it super difficult to sleep. read more

We were all very pleased with our cabin and the campground amenities. They had fun things for the kids to do including mini golf, bounce pad by the family size covered picnic area, and an enclosed hot tub (pool closed for season). ABQ KOA Journey has a Dog park on premises and pet clean up stations in several locations. We noticed that some pull in spots had a pet enclosure for private use. We rented a deluxe cabin which included a queen size bed, pull out sofa and small room with two twin-size bunkbeds. Everything was nicely updated, clean and perfect for our family of six. Our unit had a full-size tub in the bathroom, good size mini fridge, microwave, kitchen sink and dinning table with chairs. The kitchen had everything we needed including a Keurig coffee maker. We had ceiling fans, a/c, the unit was climate controlled and there were extra heaters available within the cabin. Fresh towels, bedding, good pillows and mattresses. Outside we had a Patio set with seating, gas grill, fire pit, additional seating, and parking for our van. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and even delivered firewood to us upon request. The general store by the front entrance had our immediate needs (s'mores supplies). We were able to bring our pet dog along for the trip which was wonderful. This is not in the forest - it's in town so you do hear the street noise but it didn't bother us at all. The value way surpassed any surrounding area or street noise. We felt safe at this gated campground and will return. read more

Upon arrival in our motorhome we wanted to top off propane and let the staff know our intentions. They let 2 other customer get propane ahead of us then made us go around rather than having the pickup truck move. On the way to the site we had to stop 3 times because of a toyhauler ramp down, cornhole game in the street and car too far out in the road. Narrow site and not a blade of grass anywhere. Lots of highway noise at night and manned security gate at night due to unsafe neighborhood. Paid for 2 days but left after one night. read more

We stayed in cabin no. 2 and it was a great stay. Cabin came equipped with a small refrigerator and a 22in flat screen. The room was cool throughout the hot day and comfortable at night. Bathrooms are close and require a code. They keep them super clean. I would recommend a stay here. Only down side is that the area seems a bit sketchy but the KOA closes the gates and has a gate attendant at night. Makes it feel safe. read more

Let's keep this simple. There are definitely some positives to report: 1)The campground was clean as can be. 2) I liked the service of being escorted to our designated site by an employee driving a golf cart. 3) Our small tent site provided a privacy fence, fire pit with iron grill, a wooden shelter/shade, and a picnic table. However, as another Yelper mentioned, the location leaves a lot to be desired. It's right off the freeway and you'll hear the semis whizzing by, sirens, and horns. It definitely doesn't feel like camping. In general, I think this KOA would best serve the RV crowd. read more

This was a really nice campground and very dog friendly. They have spots that I had dog kennels that attached to the site. I definitely would recommend that if you have animals. They have a pool in the playground and the campground seems very clean. The only thing that I didn't like about this campground is that it was $100 a night. Out of all the campgrounds that we were staying in the country this was one of the most expensive ones. We wanted to see what all the hype was about and honestly it was not worth $100. I've seen RV parks I have beautiful water features that are cheaper than $100. Also entering it's a locked gate and you have to call the attendant to open it if you come after hours. We had to call twice and the attendant look like she was sleeping on duty. read more

We are full time RVers and we stopped at this KOA on a cross country trip from Washington state to Florida. We are arrived after the sun had fallen. As we set up shop, all you could see crawling on the gravel was tons of COCKROACHES. Worse infestation than I've ever seen even in Florida. Pleased to be leaving first thing in the morning. This is a great place to stay. We were passing through and got into town early. It wasn't far away from anything we saw! There are many things for the kids to do too! Pool, new playground, miniature golf, bikes to rent. The only downfall was that dog park (and everything else) was gravel. It was too hot to put your dogs on in middle of the day.
