This is a rustic park, for sure. It is located off of the Turquoise Trail (NM State Road 14), which runs from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. I liked that it is a quiet park, located away from the road. The staff person who checked us in was very friendly. We followed her in her golf cart to our site, where she guided us in. Unfortunately, the site had some overhang from a tree, and the top of our RV hit against it, so we weren't too happy about that. A different site without tree branches overhead would have been more appropriate for our RV. The site was gravel, and fairly level, with full hook ups. We had a patch of grass and a picnic table. The grass, although mowed, was full of foxtails, so we had to carry our pup out to the road, which was a bit of a pain. Also, there is a horse stable on a private road right next to the RV park, and people tended to drive fast along the road, which stirred up a lot of dust. But the views from the RV park are so very nice, hills and mountains all around. I liked that they had a full recycle area, for glass, plastic, cans, etc. But the trash bins were a bit full. I don't know but we might have been there just before trash pick up day. Like I said, the park is rustic, so I enjoyed walking around the RV area and the tent area. Nice flowers, trees, etc. There were some long-term residents, which added to the rustic feel of the park. But they were quiet, so no big deal. I would definitely stay here again.

June 3, 2023 - Turquoise Trail RV Park, Albuquerque, NM) We pulled into the park right at 4:30 PM after about a 2 1/2 hour drive up Highway 25 from Truth or Consequences. The weather on the way up was fairly windy and we got a few good downpours of rain. We were a little tired from the drive when we arrived. We got checked into site 26. There were some tree branches that made contact with our 12' 4" high motorhome, so that wasn't ideal. I wish they would've given us a different site that had overhead clearance. They mow the lawn area, but it is still overwhelmed with foxtails, among a dog's worst enemies. No fun when embedded in your dog's ears. The park is a mix of part-time and full-time residents. There are sites for tents and RVs. They have bathrooms and showers available for those who want to use them. Tokens are provided for showers. I believe they're good for 5 minutes each. The sites are pretty close together and the Wi-Fi is about non-existent. They have a rock museum in the main office area. I did like that the park is away from the main road.

17 miles form ABQ! In the Sandia Mnts. Cooler temps than ABQ and a nice laid back atmosphere at the campground. There was a Good dog walking trail around the campground and recycling! We were safe and peaceful for four nights this Fall! There are Showers and toilets and a dish washing station.

The camp hosts were very friendly and worked with us to find the right spot for our 40 ft Class A RV. There were several long-term residents in the park with older trailers but they did not seem to be a bother. We found a relatively level site but our neighbors were pretty close by. We shared a picnic table area with our neighbor to the passenger side and shared a utility corridor with our neighbor to the driver side. They had recycling near the dumpsters and cabins to rent also. Tent camping was in an area separate from the RV's. You could rent DVD's from the office if you wanted as well. The road into the park was all gravel with lots of dust kicking up as we drove in and out. We stayed a week and got our 7th night free.

A friend recommended this place to me because I was tent camping and there are just a few camp areas near Albuquerque that accommodate. I was lucky to get a place here without a reservation since it was the start of Memorial weekend. This place has everything you need, whether you're in an RV or a tent. The bathrooms are very clean, there are showers and even a laundry room. The tent sights have a level area to set up, a picnic table and a grill (charcoal only). There are no fire pits, but once you see the place you'd understand why. There is plenty of shade and hiking trails. They have a cute gift shop within the office, and the camp is only 15 minutes from Albuquerque.

Far from town. Peaceful and quite. Friendly staff. There are some full timers that have let their site go. Pretty reasonable on price.

The photo isn't faded, this was during a 40 MPH dust storm. Note that there's not a lot of trees for shelter

I'm not sure exactly what this place is all about, I'm guessing it is private property. It is in a semi-wooded area a short way up the mountain from the highway - easy to get to but not very secluded. They have the tent campsites well separated from the RV section which is such an obvious thing to me as a tent camper but most places don't get that concept that a tent camper doesn't want to be right next to a rolling Motel 6. We were there on a week night and there was only one other tent camper. She had one of the two loops all to herself and we chose the other. It was a baptism by fire for the first time we were using our huge new self-erecting tent because as we were setting up the winds were beginning to pick up. During the night the winds averaged 20 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH which made sleeping in the tent like a thrill ride at a theme park. In the morning the wind changed direction slightly, kicking up huge clouds of dust. Taking the tent down under those conditions was quite the feat. The campgrounds themselves were okay but at $18.56 a little pricey for what it is. They did give us a couple of tokens for the showers which had hot water, something a tent camper always appreciates. I think the main reason to choose this campground is the proximity to Albuquerque, other than that it wasn't remote enough for my tastes.

The park is next to the casino and hotel and there's a free shuttle that will take you back and forth if you want. Just call them and they will come and get you. While we haven't used the showers; we did use the laundry today and it was $2.50 per load to wash and dry. Everything worked great. The main reception building is awesome with games, fireplace and seating, plus a kitchen if you're here with a group. There is a tiny exercise room too! There is a pickleball court as well as sand volleyball and a putting green. So much to do here! WiFi was pretty sad at 2-3Mb so don't expect to do great things. We had our Starlink yay There is a nice pool that will open soon too. They have propane service too. $61 per night with an aarp discount. It's about a 25 minute drive into Albuquerque too.

Again, a big fan of not having to disconnect the tow vehicle. They have a free shuttle to and from the casino, even though it's only a short walk away. They also provide a keycard for the gate that separates the RV resort from the casino. The park is quiet and well maintained. There's no public dumpster, just leave your garbage in front of your RV by 10 am and they'll come pick it up.

We stayed here a year or so ago when they first opened and were the only ones at the park, but this time the place is almost completely full! They have many fifth wheels and tow campers here that are set up for long-term with big propane tanks and such. However, I will say it is one of the neatest and clean long-term Park we've seen along this trip. We paid $47 for this one night stay plus tax for full hook ups on a pull through site. They have a very nice laundry room that has six washers and six dryers for six dollars a load. You pay for the washer in the dryer is free. There is a workout room that is attached to that building as well with some equipment, including a treadmill, an elliptical and some weights however the weight pin was stuck so you couldn't adjust the weight. There was plenty of space if you needed to do any type of Pilates video or something, lots of room for that. There are really no trees or anything here and you are next to a farm so it was nice to wake up next to the cows. We did not really hear any highway noise, although it was quite windy last night. You book online and make sure you check your email the day you arrive as you will need all of the information in that email. It isn't a typical camp where you check in at an office, you're giving all the instructions and email including the gate code to access. The map of the facility is on their website so you can locate your space that you're assigned an email. There were three different Wi-Fi connections available, but we couldn't get any of them to work. When we called they said they had been having problems for over a week, no one had come out yet and the owner has been ill or something so if you need Wi-Fi, you may want to have an alternative solution. Verizon signal was just OK If you are traveling with horses, this is your perfect stop as they have stalls for horses!

After spending several hours in a rest area I contacted the Longhorn Ranch rv park to see if we could spend the weekend there until we could get our truck repaired. They were not officially open yet but said they would accommodate us with no problem. They met us on the back of a tow truck at night and directed us into their park. We met the whole family the next morning and they offered to help us any way possible which included repairing a major water leak in our plumbing. They also made arrangements to get the part we needed to repair our truck and suggested a competent repair shop close by to do the repair for us. We can't thank them enough for all the help they provided us and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stop there next year on our way through and visit the family.
