At 4:45pm my septic suddenly stopped working. Water was backing up into the house and I was in a panic. I'm a 71yo widow and needed someone to talk me down off the ledge. Andrea, the office manager, did just that. She told me what to do (and what NOT to do) until she could get someone out here. Josh showed up the following morning and did a thorough inspection of the equipment. He showed me what happened and what correcting it would entail. He was personable, efficient, and answered all my questions. He replaced the pump in a timely manner and told me what to look out for in the future. His estimate was accurate. Alcam Advantage has serviced our septic system for almost 5 years. Mike, the technician, is very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Andrea in the office is also very helpful and efficient. During the big freeze she talked me through several alarms when we lost electricity and water until power was restored and the roads were opened so that Mike could come out and make sure everything was back to normal operation. We recently had a pump problem just before a big family gathering. I left a message for Andrea and she called me back on the weekend. Mike was out before 7 o'clock the next morning and had things fixed very quickly. Andrea then called and texted to make sure everything was fine. We have used the company since the home was built 16 years ago. The previous manager Kent was kind and cared about customers; he would explain what was wrong, how repair would be done, and asked for permission. The switch of management was terrible. "Feel free to speak with other companies about their prices for contracts an repairs, but I will only authorize inspections a week ahead of the month they are due." When a repair service was called, they did not explain the scope of the work, nor did they ask for permission to do the repair. I have never seen such a rude and unprofessional service provider. We're stuck with the current contract until next renewal. Not recommended. read more

The best customer service I've ever experienced, from an unexpected industry. I didn't know I could be this grateful for the company that services my septic system. I thought, at best, they and my septics go unnoticed. I was wrong. I called them less than an hour ago (after their business hours), then left a voicemail which I presumed wouldn't be heard until tomorrow morning. First of all, I am a Realtor but MOST importantly, UNlike so many other Yelp reviews this one was COMPLETELY unsolicited. I've recently been working with a client who uses Yelp extensively and felt I should add my two cents for a very fine company who hasn't been mentioned here. I take no compensation for my endorsements for this, or any other vendor. In my opinion, to do so is an ethical violation and something I just don't do. It can also be illegal under certain circumstances. No one likes to think about on-site sewer systems (what we call septics)--they are just a part of life in the hill country. For reasons I cannot explain, though it is likely due to providing consistently high-quality service, Alcam has been the septic service provider for almost all, easily 95%, of the homes I've had the opportunity to be involved with and there have been hundreds. I've personally dealt with Alan Franques (good luck pronouncing it, it is Cajun name I do believe) dozens and dozens of times. He almost always answers his own phone and when he doesn't, he calls back promptly. He is polite, a bit soft spoken and always easy to deal with. He and the folks who work for him have always shown up on time, done exactly what was promised at a very fair price. Obviously, I recommend them. read more

Alcam is incredible. Kent (Service Manager) and his inspection crew do a fanstastic job. After having some issues after the recent freeze, Kent walked me through what I needed to do, and then sent someone out immediately that same afternoon. I have a very old aerator, and their attitude is that if it works, they'll fix it but don't replace it until you need to. Their customer service, attention to detail and honesty is the best in the business. I think my entire street now uses Alcam from word-of-mouth recommendations. I highly recommend them. read more

We called Alcam about the septic system on a house we were about to buy because they were the company currently servicing the system and we needed to have it inspected before making an offer on the house. We had head that pumping certain systems could cause harm to the system so we wanted to make sure that didn't happen. Alcam's technician told us that in order to avoid an $800 media collapse repair he needed to go out and perform an "air wash" before the pumping occurred. He told me it would cost $150 to do this "air wash" and that he could be there to do it personally the next morning. Since we didn't want to damage the tank and needed the inspection done as part of our real estate transaction, we agreed to pay Alcam $150 in order make sure that no damage was done during the pumping or inspection. When we got to the house the following morning, Mike the Alcam technician greeted us with "Well, bad news! The media collapsed and it's going to be $800 to fix it". I called two other septic companies and a septic inspector in the area to get their opinion on what had happened, all said that it sounded like operator error and one even suspected that it was ALCAM that had done it (without me mentioning the company) as he had heard this kind of story about them The owner at Alcam (Allan) not only refused to fix the media at his company's expense, but was condescending and unpleasant to deal with. In the end, we called another company who sent somebody to clean up Alcam's mess for $500 -- expensive - but less than Alcam wanted to charge us to fix their own error. read more

I have NEVER encountered such outstanding customer service!!!! I have been to numerous places of business and truly thought the idea of customer service was a thing of the past until I began working with Bobby and Kent. The staff is extremely knowledgable, patient, understanding, and generous and they truly embrace the customer and their needs and my experience has made me realize at least one business cares about their customers and is passionate about what they do and who they do it for.
