Had a portable generator I wanted to be able to hook into my home for emergencies. Scott was here on time and very professional. Answered my questions and offered advice I believe is helpful. He ran me thru the process of installing an interlock kit and power inlet. He also made sure I knew the process on using the interlock and what switches need to be flipped and the right order. I am very confident I understand the proper procedure. I have a Duromax 1300EH generator with 10500 running watts and plugged it right in to my new inlet and ran my home for an hour with great results. I ran central air with 3 ton and 1.5 ton AC units, a computer, WiFi router, lights, 2 tv's, 2 refrigerators, and 1 deep freezer simultaneously. This company is fast acting, asked for photos--to narrow down the scope of the job, gave me a fair quote and was able to come that day or at a later date. I wanted immediate help. I was was texted, more than once, the electrician's ETA. I had an Eaton Breaker that kept popping for our washing machine with a full load in there that was half washed and wet and my wife was freaking out. We called Bear because two recessed indoor spotlights were out. Replacing a bulb didn't appear to fix them. The switch and outlet in the attic above them also didn't work. Two guys came. They figured out that the problem was that one of the spotlights was shorting out. They went to Home Depot and got new ones (including a return trip to HD because one of the ones they bought was faulty). They installed the new lights and everything worked. The guys were pleasant and professional. They were here for over three hours. The bill for everything, including the new lights, was $422. I thought that was super reasonable. read more

He explained what he was troubleshooting and why. We found out there was another outlet that wasn't receiving power as well. After troubleshooting, he found a solution to the problem. Absolutely fantastic work, communication, and overall service. Bear Electric installed a manual transfer switch and 50amp inlet box for my generator and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Before we started the job, Scott had me send photos of my breaker box, mains, etc. and was able to figure out exactly what I needed and provided me with a quote, all within 24 hours of initial contact. The other companies I reached out to were still sending me robo-yelp messages asking for me to schedule a phone call with them by the time I had locked everything in with Bear I had a couple follow-up questions the week after the install. Basically I couldn't get my generator to work because of... user error. Scott was totally cool and immediately texted back, and helped me troubleshoot what I was doing wrong. His install was 100% and he was nice enough to provide me with technical support outside of his work. I've hired bigger electrical companies in the past and while their work was good, communication was poor. Everything got lost in translation from their receptionist to the actual electricians.
