Yesterday on Christmas Eve I made a mistake by leaving my car keys in my car after I put my daughter in. Worst thing to happen ever and to top it off on Xmas eve. My 2 year old daughter was trying to open the door but was struggling. I called 3 different tow truck company's and let them know that it was an emergency and I needed assistance opening my car out of the 3 company's I called not one was able to make this task a priority. For the second time in two months I locked myself out, but instead of calling the locksmith I used previously, I contacted AAA, since I'd just upgraded my membership. My upgraded membership includes one home lockout, and Alcatraz was the locksmith dispatched to my home. I had to lower my grade 1 star due to the wait, but once the locksmith (who happened to be Tony, owner), he worked efficiently and effectively. I don't even know what to say. I pulled in with my car as the young man was locking the door. I asked to verify "are you closing?" He replied "it's no problem, you need keys? I said yes, but it's ok I'll come back. He said "oh no, let me make them now. Let me have your keys, how many do you need?" I handed them over and said two. He gave me a big smile and said "park your car, I'll be right back" he came out maybe 4 min later with my keys. I asked him, how much do I owe you. He replied "nothing at all" i said I can send you $ money to you account via BevMo. He replied "no it's ok, don't worry about it, just have a nice evening" as I was closing my window he said "if you have a problem with them just bring them back and I'll fix them" With all that is going on, COVID, elections, and a divided country. I have a pod key well it worked intermittently. I did everything the service manager said to do at the dealership. I felt strongly something else was wrong. So I took my pod to Alcatraz LockSmith. They tested my pod confirmed that that was the case..my pod was defected. This had been a 3 year journey for me. 300.00 for a new pod I could not rap my brain around. I was looking to make copies of some small master lock keys that the Walmart machine didn't have. I looked locksmiths on Yelp and Alcatraz came up. I drove there and they had the little suckers. The girl who helped me was super nice and helpful. I made 2 sets of keys and ended up getting the diffrent color plastic covers to tell them apart. Just a scam all the way around! Someone Tried to steal my car instead they messed up the ignition. Never call they're mobile service at 619-476-0089. This guy just wanted to take advantage of a person in need of help. I purchased the ignition cylinder from them and was told to call they're mobile service and they'll help install it. I called and was given a $120 total, I said I'd call back. Called back and was told $150 by the same guy. then I had to borrow the money only to call back and then oh no it will b $160 because it's "alot of work!". These guys suck! I called AAA to replace the lost keys for my truck. They contacted Alcatraz and scheduled the replacement. They were supposed to arrive in 15 to 30 minutes. I left work to meet them, waited 30 minutes and called. I was told there I must have been confused. They had said 30 to 45 minutes. I waited another 45 minutes, then got a call saying they were on their way. Another 20 minutes and a call saying they were 5 minutes away. More time..... When they did show up, he went to work, said it would take 20 minutes. I told them that I had to leave in 20 minutes at the most. About 10 minutes later, he wanted to collect. At this point I was told he would only take cash or credit card. This is a company truck and I had a company check to pay for the lock. His suggestion.... Lets just cancel the appointment.... Can you believe the balls???? Had I been told at the beginning that cash was required, I could have gone to the bank . Now we are two hours into this, I am already in trouble at work, I had already been forced to cancel the appointment that I needed to use the truck for.... What an ass!!!! Eventually he finished the work. I got back too late to make the consulting call for which I get paid.... Had I been told on the front end that it would be two hours before they would arrive, I could have made a different decision. I could have stayed at work, canceled, something.... As it is, I got the worst of all possible outcomes!!!! Never use these guys! They lie and do not disclose the terms and they are slower than hell.... read more

pros..the shop is open monday-saturday, and they have a 24-hour mobile service as well. if you ever need a new set of keys or if you need to get your keys these guys can help. i just recently bought a used car, and it only had one key with it. and the key was one of those blasted "security" keys. called the dealer and it would have been a $110 to get one made. went to these guys and they made me two for $95.00, two keys with some change back. how's that for service! cons...they aren't open on sundays. and they didn't have any remote controls, oh well. read more

Tech arrived in 90 mins (half hour late). Performed task. Took less than a minute. Charged $65. Before tech left he offered to cut copies of my keys for a fee. I declined. Tech suggested I call owner the next day since he would not receive my phone call after hours. I didn't call because I didn't care. I do care about the owner disputing the real facts. Late service. After a hectic Saturday morning, I was on my way to take my children to their soccer game when I realized I left my keys in the kitchen after we walked out of our front door. Luckily, I still had my phone with me and I called a locksmith place who quoted a high price and estimated their time of arrival would be within 2 hours. I found Alcatraz locksmith who were very courteous over the phone and said they would be at my home within the hour.
