You can shop around like I did, and not know for sure if the mobile locksmith that can create a fob for you is legit or not. (Too many horror stories about companies quoting one thing and when they are there, doing a bait and switch, adding new costs on). Well, this is a family run, woman owned company with 6 locations that are not franchises. Jennifer will give you information no one else does about the kind of fob you may be getting from other companies, that don't last as long. I would say this is a company that cares about you not getting ripped off. David came and worked his magic. Within 10 minutes the car that I locked (because I had to leave overnight in front of a store) was open and then another 20 or 30 minutes for the 2 fobs to be received and tested. Tony and David were great! I had to replace my key FOB for the first time in 11 years. They checked to see if it just needed a battery replaced but, unfortunately, it was too old and just died. Hello December !!! Stopped by Busy Bees Locks and Keys Locksmith (cute name btw) because I needed a new set of auto keys. My old key was hanging on for dear life. The buttons had fallen out, it was cracked, and it was long overdue for retirement. The dealership would have charged me an arm and a leg and probably my whole salary but Busy Bees saved me big time! Travis cut and programmed my replacement car key on the spot. He was super friendly, personable, and a great conversationalist. I was in and out in about 15 to 20 minutes. Sure I can start my car with key they sold me. Buy lost everything else. Key don't fit in door, glove box, or trunk. The key fob don't even work. They try telling me it's the battery and will come replace it. When? I'm a disabled veteran can't afford to do this all over again. read more

Came here years ago when I first moved to San Diego and they were able to make duplicate keys that another locksmith couldn't -it was a special size. Today, I brought another unusual key and Thor (Store Mgr) took the time to take pictures and contact their other locations to try and find a match. He's still working it so wish me luck! We first used Busy Bees in January because we could not open our front entry door. The response time was excellent --- they came within a couple of hours. The locksmith was Dagan and he was very knowledgeable and patient. He went above and beyond to make sure the door worked properly. On February 5th the deadbolt on our security door did not retract all the way, making it difficult to unlock. The response time was again excellent. We requested Dagan and once again he did a great job repairing the existing deadbolt and installing a new strike guide so the door would close easily. Dagan is an excellent locksmith. He's not only knowledgeable but very courteous and easy to work with. read more

These guys are great! They will really take care of you. I got key fobs copied only two months back. They let me know that these copies are linked to the original and that they would deactivate if the original was to. Unfortunately, my building had some "glitch" so I had to get a brand new key fob... which rendered the copies inactive. I was upset because 1. This glitch was no fault of mine and 2. I would have to pay again, but it was a necessary evil. I came back here and explained the situation, and they took care of my two copies at no charge. Not to mention, they're super fast! BusyBee is a Horrible company. We had our 2010 Chevy Impala ignition key and new fob from Busy Bee created about 6 months ago. Just This week the ignition key Busy Bee crafted BROKE OFF AT THE TIP INSIDE THE IGNITION. THIS IS THE IGNITION KEY BUSY BEE created. My husband has MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS and now he is stranded without a key and all because of Busy Bee. They do not care and now we must purchase a WHOLE NEW IGNITION SWITCH!! read more

From Busy Bee gave us Gold Standard Service in an emergency situation for peace of mind when someone (not management) let themselves into our condo with an existing master key while we were home! Imagine our shock. This unknown person apologized and said it was a case of "wrong condo", and took her key with her. We assumed that management had given her the master key. Not a good experience, the keys didn't work - despite three unsuccessful attempts by them to cut a key, and they tried to torque the lock - to make their defectively cut key work. On the good side - after they destroyed my blank security key - they finally agreed to replace it with another blank. Unfortunately they replacement blank key was of inferior quality. But at least I got out of there without them breaking my car door lock. Busy Bee's poor quality service and skill was made more evident by comparison to Keynnections. Specifically, I went to Keynnections later that day - he made replacement keys for me - out of a van - in a few minutes. All keys worked perfectly on the first attempt. I had to laugh when he did it - no comparison. Forget Busy Bees and go with Keynnections. read more
