We needed a house key made on Veterans day. We called Alcatraz to see if they were open. Ricardo took our call, indicated they were closed, but said he would be there for another 30 minutes and he would help us out. We rushed over and Ricardo was there waiting for us. Two keys made in less than 10 minutes and we were on our way home. My mother in-law paid in cash, thinking she paid in one's. Was heading to work today and just as I closed the house door, I realized I left both my car keys and house key inside. All the windows were locked so I couldn't jump through a window. I decided to call a locksmith, but was surprised that the first two listed in my search didn't open until 9:00am. I called anyway, on the off chance that someone might answer, but no answer. I then saw a notice for Alcatraz, with a good rating and thought I'd give them a try. They answered right away, were very attentive, thanked me for choosing them and said they could be there in 30 minutes to an hour if that was okay. I wasn't going anywhere so that was fine. About 30 minutes later I get a call from GIovonni who let me know he was on his way. He arrive promptly, got to work and was finished in a heartbeat. He was friendly, kind and thanked me for choosing them and asked if there was anything else I might need. I hope I don't get locked out of my house again, but if I do, I know who to call. Lifesaver!!! I accidentally locked myself out of my house at night when it was dark with my dog and it was freezing cold outside and the storm was about to start raining again. I was an emotional mess and was freaking out after trying frantically to get back inside my home for 30 min. They arrived super quick, he was so calming and very nice, professional and to the point and I could tell he really cared and was there to help. He came ready to fix the problem and get to work and I couldn't be more thankful we called them vs any other locksmith. The crazy thing is that I accidentally did this a few months ago and it was not the best experience. Alcatraz Locksmith is a life saver, silly me, I locked myself out of my bedroom closet. Probably wasn't a good idea to put a deadbolt smart lock on it ( it had great reviews and looked so nice) 5 years ago and never change the battery... I honestly barely ever actually use the lock so paying attention to the battery indicator was not on my radar. I called around to a few locksmiths and all said that my lock is very tricky to pick ( schleg BE365) because of the spinning mechanism it has and most likely will have to be drilled. Then I called Alcatraz locksmith and spoke to Giovanni who told me that it is tricky but they have been able to open them before and they will try their best. Ricardo came out to my home right on time and was very professional. He was very patient and kept trying and trying even though the lock was not giving in. He told me at that point that he might have to drill soon because the mechanism is not sounding like it will give in. I must have been pretty annoying asking him to please not give up, which he wasn't even close to doing so. He kept on trying and trying and finally the lock gave in. I lost my car's smart key and got it replaced through an aftermarket key service up in Los Angeles. It wasn't until I returned home that I realized that although the laser cut insert key worked on the exterior door, it did not work properly on the glovebox and tailgate. I contacted Ruth and she was able to order me the replacement key and proceeded to do the labor-intensive process of cutting this specialty key. Through multiple tweaks and attempts, we got a key that worked on the glovebox and tailgate, but not the exterior door. I was super frustrated and Ruth was calm, patient and understanding through the entire process. Unfortunately the store policy did not allow her to sell me a key which only partially works. My last resort is to go to the dealer to order a replacement key from the factory. I now understand why these smart keys cost so much to replace. A word to the wise: DON'T LOSE your key fob!! But if you do have key trouble, I 100% recommend coming to Alcatraz first for a solution. You have zero risk (you will not be charged for anything until they complete the job) and the level of customer service is through the roof! Thank you Ruth for going above and beyond for me. I'm sorry this particular key was such a headache to duplicate, but you earned a friend and a lifelong customer.
