I found Alchemy Massage and Rebeca by reading one of Oakland Acupuncture Project's Newsletter, which I generally skim and toss, but this day I was thinking of getting acupuncture treatment and wanted to see who was at the different locations and happen to see the info about Alchemy. This was the most impactful, long-lasting, enjoyable massage of my whole life! I have been struggling with chronic nerve pain and stress/tension in my neck and arms for 1 year, and for the first time I was able to feel my chest fully opened and shoulders pulled back and relaxed down my back. As a girl who has gotten quite a few massages in my time i can safely say that Rebecca is one rare talent. Her massage put me back on track and feeling energized. Her practice is a combination of deep tissue, Swedish and accu-pressure and i really felt the benefit of all three during and after the massage. This was only the second massage I've had in my life so I am not someone who is well versed in treating myself to these types of things but after years of back pain, untreated injuries and headaches I've found myself in need of someone I can trust with my body and I don't think I need to look any further. GREAT massage! She had to reschedule with me a couple times but I was able to be flexible and it was worth the wait. The massage was very healing; my body has felt better in the last couple of days since our session. I really appreciated Rebeca's thorough check-in with me about my body and any health issues. She even showed me a few acu-yoga postures to help with my hip pain. She had warm hands (yay!) and a smooth touch. She also used very nice aromatherapy oils and a good lotion that was emollient but not sticky. I felt like she was careful, paid attention, was very present and so I was able to fully relax. I wish there was a 100 star rating. Rebecca is amazing, she is the real deal. She is a healer, this experience is so much more than a massage. Before the massage we spoke and she customized an acu-yoga set to pinpoint and relieve areas I was experiencing tension. She gave instructions so I can continue these stretches on my own. At the beginning and end of the massage she uses essential oils to relax and ground. She really creates an experience, I was lifted away and felt truly safe and cared for through the massage.
