A couple of locations came up on my Google search and I chose this one. I'm glad I did. Not only did I find a Rush album I had been looking for some time and was about to order it online, but I got it brand new and at a great price. I did go thru a lot of their used inventory and really felt they have a good selection of every music genre you can think of. Pricing was also fair across the board. I didn't see anything overpriced. I would've bought a few more albums but I have thousands of records and running out of space for them so these days I have to be more selective with what I buy. Oh, and they also have a good selection of CDs, Cassettes and even 8 Track tapes. Now the one area I will give constructive feedback is in there organization. Especially when it comes to their CDs and cassettes which are just laying in stacks and you really have to move things around to see everything. But it could be because they have such a large volume of inventory that they're out of space. Something I can get so I won't ding them for it. I will also compliment the gentleman that Rand me up. When he saw the album I was buying he told me a personal story on how he had gone to see Rush during that tour. I always appreciate when the folks behind the counter take interest in their clients enough to engage in a little conversation. That goes a long way in my book. I definitely plan on returning when in town again and recommend to anyone looking for records and other physical media fairly priced

It used to be the only place you could buy the annual compilation of curated music played on KGSR Which was an incredible, eclectic station until it rebranded. You literally had to go by the store in November,stand in line and hope you got a copy of the limited CD. That's how good it was. I think the last one I purchased was from year 23 which was the last time I was at Waterloo.

One of the best selling points and features of Piranha is that for every $20 spent, you get a $1 wooden coin back, so you get a 20:1 ratio of money back on all purchases. It may not mean much, but after stockpiling 15 wooden coins and blowing them on a record, the feeling is unbeaten. The staff is humorous and great. After Record Store Day last year, I pulled up after failing to grab a copy of the Blue Notes Alts n Ins record, and the owner gave me props for grabbing it because he personally thought it was one of the coolest releases in the collection. He asked if I had come there just to buy it or stumbled upon it. I told him I was seeking it out, and I got the nod of approval. Best day of my life. I do not think this record store has much of a purpose to visit if you are deep in Austin, since independent stores in Austin have pretty similar stock, but living in Hutto and for the people in Round Rock and Georgetown, this is a great spot and a place I love to support. The location in Artisan Alley is super cute, and from the outside the store looked promising. I was specifically hoping to find a meaningful vinyl for him. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we opened the door, there were records spread all over the floor and a person sitting on the ground sorting through them, making it difficult to even step inside the very small space. Between the uneven flooring and the clutter, it felt chaotic and uncomfortable to navigate. There was only one other couple inside, and honestly it already felt overcrowded. I understand small vintage shops can be eclectic, but this didn't feel organized at all. I even had to ask who the owner was because we were looking for something specific, and while he may have been busy dealing with a recent record purchase, he seemed distracted and not particularly interested in helping customers. I really wanted to love this place because it has charm and potential, but the overall experience felt stressful instead of enjoyable.
