I take the kids in rehab, whom I work with, to this meeting. I've been to others and this is my favorite. There's a really welcoming atmosphere with its own traditions and a lot of regulars who have good/worthy things to say. Newcomers are welcomed, and the teenagers I bring receive positive and direct attention and encouragement. A couple weeks ago, one man celebrated his 22nd sobriety birthday, and it was awesome. There are plenty of birthdays there, and lots of cakes. If you're new to sobriety or on a court card, I really recommend this meeting; there's a lot to learn and a lot of love in the room. The members also have birthday parties, beach barbecues, and other events for you to participate in. The Apollo meeting is open, participation, and non-smoking.

I do appreciate that they gave me a 40$ laundry card...when I went back to the laundry mat it was permanently closed. So I messaged the company to see what's going on and she responded with "the laundrymat is closed indefinitely, but I'll see what else we can offer you to wash". I never got an update for this.. I had to message them and ask again to find out that they no longer offer this.(glad i didnt hold my breath.) After the fire crisis I saw they posted something saying 'if your in need of food or household items message us or dm us" I did both...more then once (trying to set something up) and it was impossible. Clearly if people are in need, they are going to reach out to these organizations to see if they can help..but I just felt like I was begging and being an inconvenience with the way I was responded to when I told them I didn't have a way to get there. I even had 2 large bags of donations to give and I let them know...they never came to pick them up (but said they would). I originally was happy to have found something like this because I'm disabled and don't have a car so it's hard for me to get around, I'm not from LA either so it's not easy for me to take public transportation. Hopefully everyone else can receive services they promote and not feel like a bother. Im very hurt by looking at the past reviews and how easy it was for others to receive food deliveries "the same day" or "promptly". I feel discriminated against and like I was lied to and blown off.

They truly went above & beyond for us to ensure we had a successful day. Although the venue is currently being updated, but we had no issues making the most of the space. The venue has easily accessible clean restrooms & doors remained open thru out the day for smooth air flow. We were even able to fit a large jumper outside for all the kiddos to play safely away from the parking lot. That gave all the parents a lot of peace of mind. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and so nice. Thank you so much. The only issue was the street parking, I think that either Tuesday or Wednesday the street sweeper passes by so there is limited to no parking nearby. But it was worth it.

It is located across the street from a park which I think helps because there was plenty of parking everywhere. The interior has real basic decor, the space seems to fit roughly 100 people at most with tables of course. There are fans in the venue but we were here during a hot day and it can get hot real quick. The bathrooms are small but not dirty and they seem to be enough for what the venue is. It's all stairs to go inside to kids and elderly would need help. The venue has a small "backyard" which for the kids party was used to set up the jumper and few other tables for those that want to walk outside. Pretty easy to get to as well since a few freeways are nearby. I would recommend this place for small get together a but know that it's not fancy at all.
