I hate to leave a less than positive review as we absolutely feel Alcorn does high quality work for a reasonable price, but in this instance we simply feel ripped off and will likely not make use of their services again We had Alcorn electric out here (as we have several times before) due to no power to a couple of our outlets. As always, they were professional, polite, and able to get us on the schedule quickly. (One of the outlets that was not working is the one that provides electricity to our tankless water heater). We are first time homeowners and admittedly unfamiliar with all things electric (hence the call to an electrician when we could not determine why several outlets were not working). We had tried the breakers but did not know/think to look for a tripped GFI switch. In less than 10 minutes, Alcorn head located the trip to GFI and push the button. We were then sent an invoice for $150.00 To say we were shocked was an understatement we absolutely appreciate that time is money and have no problem paying for peoples time and professional services.... but in this instance to maintain $150 callout fee when the work required was simply to locate and reset a GFI switch left a very bad taste in our mouths. Even a reduced fee would have been more decent in our opinion. As I mentioned, this is not in any way a reflection on the quality of work and professionalism that Alcorn provides. They have done substantial jobs for us in the past and we have been nothing but pleased. Unfortunately this last encounter has left us searching for a new electrician for future jobs. Alcorn appears to have many positive reviews- all deserved. I am certain this won't impact their business, nor should it. We were just caught off guard by the charge and after asking others in the community their opinion- all were in agreement so we opted to share our experience. read more

These guys are great. We've used them to install a plug to power our home with a generator, fix a switch that kept tripping (broken uplight), replace LED lights on a 20-ft ceiling, and install an outdoor plug up high to keep our wireless security cameras charging. They've always been very organized, efficient, friendly, and have been very transparent about what they will charge or if the quote would need to change due to anything different. Took the money and ran. Asked for money upfront to pay for supplies and a wire puller rental. $2500 for all of that. He sent his wife to pick up a check and then ghosted us on scheduled appointment day. After calling and asking where he was, his wife said she "understood and would make it right." Aaron showed up at 6:30 on a Friday night without a helper or the wire puller that he said he was going to rent. He did not notify us that he was here at our home to start working. He had to leave to go get supplies for the job that was scheduled that day and that he had the money for. It ended up the job was only half done and my husband and son had to pull the wire. It was about 150 foot pull and Aaron used our dish soap to get the wire through. He scheduled with us to come back out on Tuesday (Christmas Eve)to finish the job, then texted that he was too busy to show up. We rescheduled for the Friday after Christmas. He never showed up and quit responding to texts, phone calls and messages both on his personal phone and work phone. We did not get what we paid for and the job was never finished. He also committed several violations against his license and we will be reporting him to the TDLR for the incomplete job and stealing our money. read more
