They were prompt, professional and knowledgeable! I hired Light it Up to do two ceiling fans for me and I didn't even need to have one replaced they quickly figured out that the handyman I previously used had just wired it incorrectly. Contacted them based on Yelps recommendation of companies that service our zip code. They offered a date/time to come out and provide a free estimate and we accepted and made arrangements to be available. When I provided our full address they came back with "sorry, we don't service your area". /boggle Doesn't sound like this company is very organized to me. Soon after moving to Frisco and not having a stable of professional companies to support our home renovations, we use YELP to help us in our search. The review write ups and the company's website brought us to Light It Up Electric. Todd, the owner, came out to talk with us about the job and to quote it. We were very comfortable with Todd, his style & approach & with his dollar quote. Our remodel included adding recessed lighting in both the living room and master bedroom, removing two 60" fans and adding one of 70", removing three fluorescent fixtures and replacing them with LED fixtures, adding light timers, dimmer switches, getting a Ring alarm hardwired, and changing the light kit on a fan fixture. Our two skilled electricians were excellent and great professionals with great customer service skills as well. Love it when professional trades people can communicate with woman or man. Natasha is an absolute joy to work with on the scheduling and the office aspects of the business. This has been a great experience and we'd recommend LIUE without any hesitation. read more

If you need an honest good electrician stop right here. These guys took care of us when we had a disaster in our home and had no power. They came out right away and got us temporary power and gave us a quote that was a third less than the other company which I will not name here. First of all, this is family run business. Todd (the master electrician) and his wife run the business. I always enjoy doing business with small family own companies. Two of his technicians came out to help with an outlet/breaker issue we were having. They conferred with Todd prior to finalizing the fix. Price was reasonable, and I feel more comfortable with them compared to our past electrician (who decided to move on to roofing!). I will use again, if needed. read more

Had these guys out to add three circuits to our game room to handle a bunch of full sized arcade machines. Red was on time, professional and a super nice guy. This company who is a member of The Good Contractor's List is terrible. They have no flexibility in scheduling. When I asked if I could pay more for night or weekend work, the OWNER said, "we value our employees' time over everything." She was sparky and rude. I will never contract them for a job. read more

Lack of integrity. Red Dodge came and charged another $80 for flipping the switch the circuit breaker on and off and changing a light bulb. The service/trouble-shoot charge to come out was $65. He took advantage of an oversight and misstep on me and my husband. Overall, we paid $145 for 20 mins of trouble-shooting. My husband made the comment after he questioned the additional $80 "that's a quick $150 in 20 mins". These type of experiences make you difficult to trust those automatic call charges. This is a family owned business and I cannot say enough good things about them. We have an older home that needed a new electrical panel, new exhaust fan for bathroom, new outlets, switches, etc. While we found cheaper "electricians" we quickly found that some were uninsured and many did not want to pull a permit for the electrical panel. I have read that this could cause problems with selling a home later on if the work isn't done according to code, and also this could be a safety issue if the work was not done right. All work was done promptly and we are completely satisfied with everything. The city inspector easily signed off on the work so that was outstanding. We have found many electrical problems throughout these months, and Light It Up Electric is our go-to contractor for rectifying the found issues. All of the Light It Up technicians who have been sent to my house have been courteous, professional, and knowledgable. While most of my problems have been relatively small, some of my issues required a fair amount of trouble-shooting. They have been quite helpful in giving me options and solid advice on the more complicated problems, and saving me money when appropriate. They managed that huge ladder with care inside the house. They did a great job in their suggestions on how to hang the globe hallway lights. Bad customer service. I called on Wed 11/16/22 and explained my HVAC is tripping the breaker when the heat comes on (its electric not gas) and provided my info. They said we will call you back to set an appt. Natasha called me back within an hour and confirmed the previous info, the service fee and approximate quote if they have to replace the breaker. I agreed to an appt the next day, Thur 11/17/22 with arrival between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. she stated they would call when the technician was on his way. By 12:15 p.m. on 11/17/22 nobody had called or showed up so I called them back and spoke to Wilma who apologized and said she would have someone call me back. Finally at 12:35 Natasha called (only because I called the company) and told me "our technician is finishing up with his customer and should be on his way shortly". I told her never mind, the window was between 8 and 12 not afterwards and because she never called out of courtesy to tell me there was a delay. All Natasha said was "Okay I'll cancel the appt". No apology or attempt to keep my business, very unprofessional. I called ADIS Electric and Tina was very polite and accommodating for a same day (11/17/22) appt. read more
