I have a 2017 Sierra Denali that I brought in for a new transmission in June. There was nothing wrong with the rest of the truck, it just needed a new transmission that costed $8,700.00. After picking it up it was worse than the old one. My suspension system light came on. They told me it would be $3,000 to fix. I checked the wire and it was unplugged. Since then I brought it back to have the transmission looked at since I had a warranty. We'll they said there is nothing wrong and it needs a computer update and now a motor mount. They didn't catch on the initial visit. We'll I brought it in to have the motor mount and computer update done. The next day my steering was tight and I found ball bearing on my floor. They had to take apart the steering shaft to get to the motor mount. And now my steering is messed up and they are saying I have to pay for it now. There was nothing wrong with it before and they are refusing to help me out since my extended warranty wont pay for the part. At first they told me the bearings cant be repaired and the part is 1700 dollars. Now they called back and said the part can be fixed but they want $475 to do it. I feel that because I have an extended warranty they are trying to take advantage of me and my warranty and I dont think I should have to pay for something they messed up. Side note: the whole service shop employees switched places with another dealership. I wonder how often they do this. read more

I was originally quoted for a total engine repair at 8K and it would take 2 weeks. After a change of management and some staff, the number ballooned to over 11K. I called 3 weeks later and was told the engine was backordered. I did not receive any updates and I had to initiate any conversation. The engine was completed two months later but a check engine light turned on when I drove off the lot. After admitting the purge pump failed somehow while on their lot waiting for the engine replacement, I was told by the manager tough luck and it'll be another top market repair. Be prepared no communication, no accountability, and to be nickled and dimed.  I was laughed at when I said I'd share my experience online. Avoid. read more

I called earlier in the day to get a quote on a fuel filter change, which is pretty routine and they said they could get me in today so I made an appointment at the dealership. They changed the filter, which went fine. Very courteous and polite. Then the bill came and all of a sudden it was $40 more than what they quoted me. She said their price sheet had changed and I said "When? Within the last 3 hours?" She should've kept to the number she quoted, but they didn't. Sadly enough, they are shortsighted, and I'll be taking all my needed services and money to another dealership. I suggest you do the same. read more

After weeks of shopping and dealing with poor salesman who basically told me I was crazy and never going to get the car I wanted at a price I could afford I finally made the conscious decision to return to Alden. Lou, Jack & Damien all were incredible from start to finish- professional, personable & knowledgeable. Not only did they take the time to explain all my options and how they work now and in the long run, I left the same day with the exact car I wanted for the price I could afford. on 2/4/24 I took my vehicle into service dept. never told how much it would cost to balance 2 wheels, install new tire pressure sensor! w/inspection sticker, it cost over $200.00 dollars!! If I knewI would never got my auto serviced there. This was our 4th vehicle we have purchased here. We ordered a 2021 Yukon Denali from Alden Buick / GMC which ended up taking 5 months to get in the middle of the covid / chip crises. No fault of Alden. After receiving the Yukon everything was wonderful for the first 18 months and 14,000 mile. Until It just died in the middle of the road on at the beginning of February 2023 and unbeknownst to us if you can't start the vehicle you can't put the vehicle in neutral to push it out of the way and the tow truck operator needed to put the vehicle on skid pads to get it on the flat bed. This is a stupid design by GMC. We had the vehicle towed to Marty's GMC In Kingston MA because it is only 10 minutes from where it broke down. After speaking with Martys GMC multiple time and two visits to their location after 5 WEEKS and no clear answer as to when they would get it into their service department other than we hope this week. I contacted ALDEN Buick GMC and had it towed there the middle of March. It was taken into their service department within a day as they said it would be. Karen in the service department called me and told me that they have diagnosed the problem and it was the fuel sending unit but they could't get the part for three weeks which was fine as long as we knew what the problem was and when it would be fixed. Karen offered us a courtesy rental with we didn't take. Karen and the entire team at Alden Buck GMC was wonderful through the entire process and wish I would have just had it towed it there from the start. Alden was Wonderfull thru the entire process. Marty's GMC service department sucked in every way possible except in the good way. read more

My car suffered a spontaneously exploding sunroof and I needed immediate attention as it was the rainiest week of the month. Jas (pronounced Jazz) was exceptionally helpful in getting me temporary coverage to the sunroof. Her help in contacting my insurance company and the original dealer who sold me the car has been outstanding. Out of all the reasons that this dealer/repair place was above average, Jas was the top one. She has awesome customer service abilities and should be noticed by her management team. I bought my GMC new and they Alden has been nothing but great from a service and sales perspective. Great experience every time. So why one star? They lost my trust. On my last service visit I asked if they share my data with CARFAX, which I was told "yes". I'm sure the person had no idea of my background, being a former insurance executive and in the insurance data business. Here is why we ALL should take issue with this. Alden is making money off selling our personal data. VIN, mileage, name, vehicle condition, etc. none of which is publicly available and constitutes personal information for which I did NOT authorize for them to sell nor share. So what's the impact to me/us? A lot! Insurers buy this data and use it to increase your premium. For example, if you drive 5,000 miles a year you are in a passive (less $) use class. If you drive 20,000, an active use class (a lot more $). Just one easy example. Dealers use this data when you trade in your car for diminished value. Alden has NO right (legal or otherwise) to sell our personal data. They are not alone many dealers and oil change places do it, but people should be told and given the option to opt out. It's unethical and could very well be illegal. Sorry Alden, but it's accurate. You likely didn't even know how CARFAX resells the data! read more

He assured me that my car would be taken care of promptly, assisted me with every question I had, and was very kind. In addition, he and the lead mechanic took time out of their day to teach me how to check my oil and provide solutions for my car, and I am very grateful. I have been to several other shops around the Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts area who have been dishonest, but Alden Buick GMC's employees genuinely care about their customers and fixing their vehicles. My last new car buying experience 3 years ago was an absolute nightmare, not this time. This was "by far" the best car buying experience that I have ever had. The laid back, no pressure approach was awesome. I drove our salesman crazy Bob crazy by changing my mind over and over again and it didn't even faze him. He just kept bringing me cars, changing plates and letting me take the cars for a ride. I went there with a particular car in mind and left buying another. These guys are the best, there's no haggling back and forth, they don't try and sell you stuff you don't need. Horrible Service from Scott!!!!!! I'm I brought my 2015 yukon xl to the dealership due to the running boards not working properly, after their review they replaced both due to the vehicle being in warranty. A week later I was hearing a crunch coming from the passenger side, they lived tightened and supposedly it was fixed. Week later same issue so the greased and tightened again. This happened about a month later and tried to explain that something wasn't right with the running boards and I demanded they be changed again. I made an appointment and then they called me explaining they don't want my service and I'm not welcome there for service. I brought my vehicle to another dealership and there was multiple bolts missing and they were not properly secured to the vehicle. Please don't waste your time or money with Alden read more

I wont be back had an issue with my breaks on my new $40000 truck. Thought I would try the local dealer as I am new to the area. Scheduled an oil change and to also have them look at my breaks due to warping of rotors.They had it all day. I pick up the truck, breaks are not fixed but they had no problem completing the expensive oil change! Service manager supposedly test drove the truck but strangely he is not there.. So I have to go back on another day then drive the "service manager"around and demonstrated the problem! He says he is sorry then they then put new rotors in the truck. Now three months later the new rotors are scored and warped! They give me a service order that even states the problem. Again I Dropped it off at 8am they called at 3pm and they did not fix it again..Same thing they did the last time. I dont have time or patience for stupidity. Now I'm waiting for the factory rep to call. Sorry, Alden GMC you people are idiots.. New rotors within 3 months is not NORMAL Update Yesterday the day after I picked up my truck and posted this. I am on the way to work and truck shook so bad I had to pull over the brakes are smoking hot. The truck had to be towed to another local GMC dealership and I was informed by them all the brakes need to be replaced due to shody workmanship by the place that did the brakes yes it was AlDEN GMC!!! I had to call GMAC and they are now involved. I am now hitchhiking home from work. Yes 40000 dollar truck.. Also I did call the dealership to leave the owner a message he could not bother to call back but had time to respond to my review. INCOPETENT is what you are. I call one more time to talk with the service manager that drove my vehicle. Guess what I am told he no longer works at ALDEN GMC. The owner instead of correcting his employees mistakes leaves me a response on Google. I am now having the truck fixed by another shop and will send ALDEN the bill.. I was shopping all over for a AWD CTS with a specific option set. I had a hard enough time finding one, and previously I had bad experiences with several other dealerships. I had talked price with one dealer as I'm out of town and had an agreed upon price, but when I got there they wouldn't honor the agreed upon price. Another dealer told me the car picked up a few scratches while on the lot, but half the paint was missing from the car and paint was splattered all over the interior. Another dealer sold the car and didn't bother telling me until I drove over 100 miles to look at the car -- and they even called me a hour before. With Alden, I spoke with Damien on the phone since I live a ways a way and we talked price and trade value. When I got there, everything was exactly as we had talked about. They got me a good rate on my loan, and everything went exactly as it should with no surprises or cheap tactics or hassle that many dealerships put you through. read more

My mother is a parent of a child with special needs and my father passed away a few weeks ago. We needed to sell my fathers car for my brother to cope with my fathers passing (the manager and owner of the lot both knew this). We had an agreement to sell my mothers 2013 Mazda CX-9 to Alden Mazda down the street (both lots have the same owner) and we were going to use the cash from that sale as well as my fathers car (a 2013 GMC Acadia Denali) as a trade-in to purchase a new vehicle. We were interested in a 2015 Chevy Traverse at Alden GMC The manager at Alden GMC said we could trade the Mazda and the Acadia, and a cash amount for the Traverse we were interested in. We left the lot on Saturday with an agreed upon price. When we called Monday to see if the Traverse was ready, the manager said we needed to bring a check for $700.00 more than the amount we originally agreed upon. When my mother vehemently refused, the manager held the line at the increased price so we picked up my fathers car, deciding not to move forward with the deal. When we tried to sell the Mazda at Alden Mazda, as originally planned, they told us they could no longer purchase the vehicle, because the owner of the both of the Alden lots said he "didn't want to do us any favors." In sum, unless you want to purchase a vehicle from the type of unsavory character who would vindictively make the life of a grieving widow more difficult because he was unsuccessful in his attempts to swindle her, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. read more

Went through phone calls and emails (yes I document everything) to ensure I would get the right deal when going to the dealership, and when I got there...the price changed by over 2300.00. 5 hours of wasted time and the usual "we're only making $500.00" on this car line. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Not only did they pull a fast one the day I bought the car, but when I needed a repair I was told it would take two hours. So I dropped my car off and because I don't live nearby, me and my husband took our time going out to breakfast, walked around a bunch of stores, drove around the area and ended up at Dunkin Donuts down the street about three hours later. I called to ask about the status of my car and the girl who answered the phone said that they were finishing up now. So I finished my coffee and headed over to pick up my car. When I got there I was told they didn't even take it in yet. I asked for my keys and said I would have to make another appointment to come back because I had a Dr.s appointment I needed to go to. They would not give me my keys telling me they had the parts and it needed to be done that day. I kept my cool but was getting upset with the situation and what it was turning into. They told me they would give me a rental which took over an hour to get. That's another story. So I tried not to be a jerk and took the rental n traded cars later that night. It was an inconvenience but i did it. Well for a new car I've had several problems. Wondering why I'm having all these issues with a new car. Well I would never take my car back to Alden's so I had been taking it to another dealership who let me know i had the extended bumper to bumper warranty which I never wanted but was given. It ended up in my favor because everything that they did to my car the day I had that problem there was covered under the warranty. My manifold cover was removed and my uptake valve was removed. I asked the man at the other dealership if that could fall off or mistakenly forgot to be put back after an oil change or any other repairs I had to do. They told me no it was no mistake and those things can't just fall out they were removed. Alden's is so dishonest and isno actually the worst place I have ever been. From the day I bought the car they did nothing but lie, cheat, steal and sabotage my car. I'm very disappointed in GM also because when I did the survey they made it seem like I was at fault or I misunderstood what was told to me. I will never buy another GM vehicle again and I would certainly never go to Alden's for anything even if they offered me a free new car....they can keep it and stick it! read more
