The park itself includes multiple sections for all ages including the main playground which was designed to be an inclusive space and follows the American Disabilities Act standards for public playgrounds. A new toddler play area which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is also the Union Pacific splash pad which is only open during certain months of the year, so make sure to check their calendar for hours. They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

It's large and enclosed and I love how the big kid area at the top is only accessible by ladders or hanging rings so some toddlers can't accidentally wander up. There are slides of all sizes and a part that is wheelchair accessible. I do wish the splash pad had an on/off switch. It was in the 40s this morning and so many parents were chasing their kids to keep out of the water. Also, while the ground at the playground is soft, it is not level- there are dips and random potholes. I almost twisted an ankle- twice and kids kept tripping and falling. Other than this, it's a great place! There is ample parking, ball courts in the back, clean restrooms and a water fountain with a bottle filler on it (yes!).

Not only does Hemisfair have plenty of children friendly activities including a splash pad and children's museum, but their paleta shop is so good. Whereas another side has wide open spaces and fishing, and then another side has the playground with some large pavilions. It seems like you could do a lot of different things in this park but not necessarily like it is set up to post a specific event. I didn't see any basketball courts or disc golf basket or soccer field or anything like that.

This park is on the side of a hill, so you get a workout running up and down the slope. The park offers covered basketball courts, a workout gym, jungle gyms, drinking fountains, restrooms, and plenty of parking. There are nice sidewalks that are good for biking or jogging on. There are lots of picnic spots under large trees, and a large grassy knoll for flying kites. This park is home to the Dignowity Downhill Derby - an annual pushcart derby where contestants build push carts to push down a hill in races for charity. Dignowity Park is on the east side of downtown San Antonio. It's the centerpiece of the Dignowity Hill neighborhood. The land was originally owned by a Czech immigrant named Dr. Anthony M. Dignowity, who was a prominent physician, and built a big stone house on the highest point on the hill, called "Harmony House." Once it was built, he fled from the Confederates during the Civil War. At the end of the war, he returned and bequeathed the land to the city. It officially became a park in 1952. Parking is always easy around here. There's a road that bisects the park that's a great spot to park along.
