Finding the different books amongst the bushes was fun

There are some beautiful photo op areas here but I don't think its worth how crowded it gets. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was so packed we went in and out of the center three times before just parking along a curb. I dont know if it was just because it was a Saturday or what but there were teenagers taking homecoming pics, brides taking photos, engagement sessions, and family portraits being done. It was an overload of pics. There's two small playgrounds which is partly why we went. One is for older kids, the other for 3 and under. As lovely and different as this area is I would not go for the playground only. I would instead join in for some pics on a much less crowded day.

A day out with my 5 year old twin boys and we landed here. When you first pull up you see such a beautiful mansion type building as the library and the playground is right around the corner. We started at the playground which was very busy, but nice. The library itself is very beautiful. The children's section is fairly small but had an amazing variety of books. We took a walk and noticed a really cool little area made of wood with benches and decided to take a break and read some of the books they checked out.

I think the playground needs it own separate listing, mostly because if you have kids and haven't been to this playground, you're missing out. Sure, the library is beautiful, but I've never actually been inside. I bring my nieces here when I'm on duty and all three of us love it. Two different playscapes offer activity and entertainment for kids of all ages. There are monkey bars, big kid swings, bucket swings, three slides, a mini rock wall, a bigger climbing wall, and that's just to name a few. There's soft mulch on the ground so you don't have to worry about them falling and hurting themselves (for the most part). There are pleasant shaded areas with nice benches to relax on. Let's face it, after thirty minutes of pushing someone on a swing, you're ready for a break yourself. We had my nieces 2nd birthday here, and you can actually rent the small event space that looks out onto the playground. It has a nice-sized indoor space with tables and chairs, but there's also a porch area where adults can hang while the kids play. My favorite thing of all, it's never too crowded or rowdy. Just a relaxing oasis.

    Beautiful park with children playground.

This is a beautiful park and a mansion for a library. Perfect for picnics and for children to play in the evening before dark. It is shaded and plenty of area for kids to play.

Gorgeous playground right in Monte Vista.

Gorgeous playground right in Monte Vista. With plenty of space and shade, it's easy to see why it's a favorite spot for parents. Well maintained grounds make it attractive and safe. Lots of room for little explorers to roam.

Yanaguana is one of the best (if not the best) kid playground/park in the city!…read more Yanaguana Garden is located within Hemisfair. The park itself includes multiple sections for all ages including the main playground which was designed to be an inclusive space and follows the American Disabilities Act standards for public playgrounds. A new toddler play area which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is also the Union Pacific splash pad which is only open during certain months of the year, so make sure to check their calendar for hours. They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

Beautifully maintained clean park for the entire family, friends catching up, or just chilling out…read moresolo. There's separate picnic tables by the Kimpton hotel side that's great for a quick meal too. Lots of splash pads and shaded areas with chairs for the parents to watch from a distance. Bathrooms aren't super clean but I think there's other spots less frequented where babies/toddlers can go for a quick change of clothes. Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.
