This is such a cool park! My family was trying to find a halfway point to meet up at and this came up. It's large and enclosed and I love how the big kid area at the top is only accessible by ladders or hanging rings so some toddlers can't accidentally wander up. There are slides of all sizes and a part that is wheelchair accessible. I do wish the splash pad had an on/off switch. It was in the 40s this morning and so many parents were chasing their kids to keep out of the water. Also, while the ground at the playground is soft, it is not level- there are dips and random potholes. I almost twisted an ankle- twice and kids kept tripping and falling. Other than this, it's a great place! There is ample parking, ball courts in the back, clean restrooms and a water fountain with a bottle filler on it (yes!).

Beautiful park with lots of security driving around. THREE dedicated pickleball courts which are what we came here for. Aside from that, there are beach volleyball courts (real sand) and lots of covered basketball hoops. Great sport place with plenty of parking.

We really like this park. The thing I love the most is how much shade there is. It definitely helps on the hot Texas summer days.

Beautiful playground with a variety of things to do. Loved the padded, soft ground and that it's fenced in. My son had a great time.

Is Emmit park basketball court open on Sundays and if so, what hours?

Emmitt Park is open on Sundays at 4pm, after their last service lets out.

Are there lights available for the volleyball courts to play when Dark?

The park is not open after sunset.

Do the volleyball courts have the boundary lines or do you have to bring your own set? We will be visiting soon and wanted to plan a day to play volleyball somewhere with a group. Suggestions would be amazing.

The volleyball court does have boundary lines. Please check operational hours for use.

The park itself includes multiple sections for all ages including the main playground which was designed to be an inclusive space and follows the American Disabilities Act standards for public playgrounds. A new toddler play area which is perfect for babies and toddlers. There is also the Union Pacific splash pad which is only open during certain months of the year, so make sure to check their calendar for hours. They also have a sand play area, as well as another section with small games like ping pong, chess and many more games. Overall, this garden/park offers a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages. I've been taking my kid here since he was born and as he is growing and exploring new areas of Yanaguana I can truly see how well thought off this park is. To all the locals that don't travel to downtown too often, I would definitely recommend giving this park a chance before winter comes. Also, for all the tourists coming with little ones that need the space to run around for a couple of hours, this is most definitely the spot for you!

There's separate picnic tables by the Kimpton hotel side that's great for a quick meal too. Lots of splash pads and shaded areas with chairs for the parents to watch from a distance. Bathrooms aren't super clean but I think there's other spots less frequented where babies/toddlers can go for a quick change of clothes. Parking is going to be a challenge on the weekends but paid parking isn't too far away.

They had these really cool korean buildings/monuments that someone build (artists from Korea but look up the city parks for more details). You can't step inside them but very beautiful to look at. For sure a place worth visiting to just sit and relax at if you like.

You can go there for a quick walk or do a few laps around the half mile loop. You can also take your food and have a picnic under the shade of the trees. Parking is available on site and there's plenty of it. The entrance is on one side and the exit is on the other side. There are restrooms available on site, but I didn't use them, so I don't know if they were clean. I would definitely return when I want a short walk in a shaded park.

Whether walking/hiking/biking, be prepared to be captivated by your surroundings and also out of breath from all the movement. I can only imagine what this park is like in the summers with the hot sun scorching on you. According to some reviews, there is a tower that gives panoramic views of SA. Unfortunately I could not reach this tower as I was pressed for time. But i did get quite the workout as I trekked along the unpaved trails and soaked in the views of plants, trees, and the wildlife. Additionally, there's a covered pavilion and rest rooms at the parking area of the park. And plenty of parking. This is worth visiting when you're in the SA area; just make sure you've got proper footing and bugspray!

Locating where to find the start was a little tricky, but with the help of other locals, we spotted our way. The trial was approximately 1.9 miles one way and a mixture of paved, but more so natural, which we loved. A few areas of some steep step climbs, but nothing crazy. Lots of places for photo opps, and at this time of year, it was so pretty to see all the wildflowers blooming. At one point, we reached a high point in the trail, and it then dipped down, making us question....are we on the correct trail?! Our goal was to reach the tower with panoramic views of SA. But...just continue and follow the signage. We reached the tower and were elated. Took tons of pics and busted out some yoga moves : D Well worth the drive, and there are many other trails to explore , that I'll have to come back and check out. Came during the week- it was nice, the weekends might be very busy.
