Emmitt park has a huge playscape, a basketball pavilion, pickleball and volleyball areas. This park is inclusive for all children. They are open Monday - Friday from 7 am - sunset. Check times for Saturday and Sunday, they close the park for service times. Emmitt park is clean and well maintained. You can have a picnic at any of their tables. Some of the tables are covered and some have trees covering them. I will be coming back soon! read more

This is such a cool park! My family was trying to find a halfway point to meet up at and this came up. It's large and enclosed and I love how the big kid area at the top is only accessible by ladders or hanging rings so some toddlers can't accidentally wander up. There are slides of all sizes and a part that is wheelchair accessible. I do wish the splash pad had an on/off switch. It was in the 40s this morning and so many parents were chasing their kids to keep out of the water. Also, while the ground at the playground is soft, it is not level- there are dips and random potholes. I almost twisted an ankle- twice and kids kept tripping and falling. Other than this, it's a great place! There is ample parking, ball courts in the back, clean restrooms and a water fountain with a bottle filler on it (yes!). read more

Wonderful shade for parents and lots of room to spread out under the shade. Splash pad is a bit small but all kiddos had a great time to run through the water and jungle gym. Bad part is that the park is closed when there are services at CBC. read more

Fun, clean park. Awesome tower to climb, nice splash pad to cool down, walking track and sports areas with a bathroom. Fence makes kid control easy and turf keeps everyone clean despite the water. Security guards from CBC were friendly and courteous about closing time as well. read more

Great park! Splash pad with basketball, tennis and pickleball courts! There's also a playground for the kiddos! I thought this playground was for church members since it's on the church's property. However the church donated the park to the city and it's a public park, opened for all to use! read more

My kids could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed this park and want to come back! I think the bridge was a huge hit, and also all the kids were so kind at this park and played together really well (we might have just got lucky). I loved that the playground is fully fenced all the way around! We also ran into the church hosting a little valentine's box craft for all the kids to participate in! It was such a fun surprise for everyone with crafts, hot cocoa, and treats. This park is definitely worth visiting! Also there is a fully covered basketball area, and a sand volleyball court. Also when it's spring/summer there a splash pad that part of the fully enclosed playground space! read more

Great fenced in playground with a small splash pad for kiddos! Needs a little bit more shade or a fan blowing in the corners, and the music lowered a bit. I'm half deaf and the music is still so so loud & it can be hard to have conversations or be aware of my kiddos. A man went into the girls bathroom one of the times we were there and security handled it promptly, so that was good. read more

Called the church 6/12/24 to ask about summer hours and they said the park is open and splash pad is on 7am-7:30pm, but closed the following times: Tuesdays 7-11am closed to public July 15-18 closed to public Hope this helps! Happy summering! read more

My favorite park in San Antonio so far! It's so nice and new and clean, and enclosed so the kids can't run away! The playground is amazing and has stuff to occupy both young toddlers and older kids, and the splash pad is even more amazing. My only teeny tiny complaint is that I wish there was shade because this Texas sun is unforgiving! The playground is connected to the Community Bible Church parking lot, so just look for the giant CBC sign on the 1604 frontage road. read more

I went to this park yesterday for the first time and I have to say, it is amazing. As someone who works with kids I find my self at a variety of parks and play places all over the city and even country. This is the best outdoor playground I have ever been to. It has different things for all ages to play with (recommended oldest age is 12, park rule). There were a perfect amount of kids, I'd say between the ages of 2 and 8. The 2 year old girl I was with was able to make friends with kids of all ages and she had a blast. I was kind of jealous I was not a kid this park. It will definitely be my go to when we need to get out of the house. It was a blast and extremely well taken care of. Great job. read more

One of the best parks in the city! It has an amazing playscape and splash pad, not to mention the covered pavilion with the basketball courts! Oh, and it is constantly monitored by a security team, so families can feel safe all the time! Plenty of bench seating for meals to be enjoyed by covered shade with tress! read more

The park is amazing! First timer here. I enjoyed it my son enjoyed it and met new friends and new mama friends it was definitely a unique playground, a lot of sensory, movement and fun adventures here it definitely won't be our last time going wish it was open a little later though... but other than that it's a overall 5+ STARS! This is a beautiful park. Has an awesome playground, my boys loved it. Also it has restrooms, splash pad, basketball courts, open field, and a walking trail. It's right next to CBC Church. When you are here, you feel a sense of peace and God's presence. Recommend to come out and have some family fun outdoors. read more

So we enjoyed bringing our kids here while covid is going on. It's rarely crowded. I have to mention the first time we came someone left their kid go down the slide covered in poo and did t clean up after their kid. So there goes my daughter down the slide and yep you guessed it- full of someone else's poo!!! Now I can't fault the place for the quality of person or lack of simple etiquette other patrons have . Other then that they have a small splash area, clean rest rooms and the playground is new so everything is in good condition. It's well cared for and the floor is plush in case of any accidents . We live just down the street off TPC so we're hoping this little gem continues to stay as is so our girls can continue to enjoy. read more

Is Emmit park basketball court open on Sundays and if so, what hours?

Emmitt Park is open on Sundays at 4pm, after their last service lets out.

Are there lights available for the volleyball courts to play when Dark?

The park is not open after sunset.

Do the volleyball courts have the boundary lines or do you have to bring your own set? We will be visiting soon and wanted to plan a day to play volleyball somewhere with a group. Suggestions would be amazing.

Lots of places for photo opps, and at this time of year, it was so pretty to see all the wildflowers blooming. At one point, we reached a high point in the trail, and it then dipped down, making us question....are we on the correct trail?! Our goal was to reach the tower with panoramic views of SA. But...just continue and follow the signage. We reached the tower and were elated. Took tons of pics and busted out some yoga moves : D Well worth the drive, and there are many other trails to explore , that I'll have to come back and check out. Came during the week- it was nice, the weekends might be very busy.

All outdoor public swimming pools run by the city are free to all, open six days a week throughout the summer swimming season, and follow very similar rules and protocol. This review will focus on Roosevelt Swimming Pool and what sets it apart from other city swimming pools. As with most city pools, you are required to sign in at the front desk with name, age group, and gender. These roles help the parks department obtain funding to continue operation of the pools, so it is very important to sign in. Roosevelt Pool is a throwpack to 1950's pool design. Larger than most city pools, Roosevelt also is kidney shaped with several rows of concrete bleachers. This is one of the more popular pools and there are always dozens of people in the water, especially at the shallow end. It can get very crowded in the shallow area on weekends and holidays. The depth ranges from 3ft to about 10ft. There is usually ample room for swimming laps although the pool sides in the deep end can become crowded with teenagers, and we all know how they can be. Although it is a bigger pool, parking is limited, and you may find yourself waiting or walking up a stretch of hill to the entrance. There are male and female changing rooms that double as bathrooms. Roosevelt Pool is feeling its age, and you will want to be careful not to cut yourself on the rough cracks on the walls and floor of the pool. They hurt! The pool has a small waterslide for the kids, but they rarely open it up all season. Not sure why, but they just don't seem to like to. The manager for this pool is not the friendliest, and that attitude is passed along to the lifeguards who can be surly but are generally nice. Fruit and water are allowed in the pool area, but no other food. They have hourly or bi-hourly breaks for pH leveling, and you will spend between 20-30 minutes of time out of the water per break. The concrete can be very hot and shade is limited.

They also offer diving and swimming lessons, as well as a big area to just play in. I went to the Aquatic Center with a large group of teenagers that I was supervising and I was surprised at how assertive the staff were. They must have experience with unruly teenagers dive bombing off of the bleachers, because they were non too friendly while explaining the rules. Fortunately, the kids were so excited to be able to swim that they didn't mind sitting through a 15 -minute lecture. After that was over, the lady reluctantly released our group to get ready and jump in. The dressing rooms are fine, nothing special, but they do have that weird odor that comes from stagnant water sitting on the floor. I desperately attempted not to think about athlete's feet and other fungi while getting ready. They do have those cool machines that dry your swimming suits though, so that is a plus. I was excited to swim laps and dive, while most of the kids just enjoyed the recreational area. The Aquatic Center has pretty limited hours for family swim time (mostly just on weekends from 1 to 5 p.m. but with extended hours in the summer), but if you are interested in swimming laps, you'll have more options. This place isn't really fancy, but it definitely gets the job done. You can visit for only $4 or get a 16 visit punch card for $36 online. That's a great price, better than you will find most anywhere else. So if you want to get a few pounds from your waist but not your wallet, The Aquatic Center is your place.

On the day I visited it was 103 outside by mid day I couldn't take the heat anymore and came here to cool off and get my hair wet I must say it was a totally refreshing way to escape the heat of the day! They have a good number of waterslides here as well as having all of them be completely different from the next one definitely the highlight of the slides has to be Thunder Rapids Water Coaster as it's the first of its kind in North America and wow is it fun I've never ridden a slide like this before and I found it to be super fun as well as Wet and totally unique to anything I've ever experienced before as the technology that created this is totally rad and a great way to knock out those huge stair cases! The ground here can get super hot I mean super hot and that's coming from me someone who's always barefoot at waterparks so make sure you bring some sandals or something to keep your feet cool from the burning cement or just try to walk in the shade and water spots to keep them from burning! As anyone who visits waterparks will tell you coming to one can be a great workout as well as a rewarding time as your climbing lots of staircases and getting some swim action in if you choose to do that wile your inside their huge State Of Texas shaped wave pool. The waterpark opened a bit later than the park but it was all good as it was super hot by then and this was much needed the best part about this is that Gold Pass members can get into the Water Park 10 min early so that will definitely save you a bit of time and get you on a few more slides! Overall I really enjoyed my time here at the waterpark as all the slides were fun and I thought it was cool that their wave pool had its unique Texas shape to it as it made for some fun waves and splashes! Stay cool Wet and amazing good people of the Yelp Community in the Forever Summer sunshine!

They have walking trails and stationery gym equipment in the park which I appreciate. In addition there's a big pavilion filled with benches/tables to escape the Texas heat. If you need to use the restroom there's a library behind the park. There is also additional parking at the library if needed. What would make this park better is if they had restrooms on site, other than that it's worth stopping by.
