While the store size and prices are satisfying, there are a couple disadvantages. Some of the grocery items are going to be hit or miss. The price will be satisfying, but the taste will not be. If you are not accustomed to having quarters on hand, you are in for another setback. A 25¢ deposit is required for usage of a shopping cart. Your two choices are to either solicit people to trade coins for a single dollar or carry everything by hand. Used to be a great place for organic produce with great prices to match. Not anymore, feels like the prices for just about everything in the store have doubled or tripled. The quality has also gone out the window. Several times I have had to throw out cucumbers, strawberries, avocados after only 3 days. Some fruits and veggie would have mold and slim. Other times the avocados would never rippen just dry up and have to be thrown away. A couple weeks back there were flies living inside the avocado box, when I picked up a bag about 30 flies flew out and scattered all over the store. For me this location is a hit or miss. read more

Along with Trader Joe's, Aldi is another favorite supermarket of mine. They are both smaller than a regular supermarket, but their prices are unbeatable. I recommend coming in early or at night to avoid lines and crowds. Parking: Conveniently in a mini shopping center, this Aldi has a wide parking lot where you'll find ample parking. Price: The price is certainly competitive. The average item runs about $3-4 where it may cost $5 or more at a regular supermarket. If you don't care much about brand names and prefer a lower price, this is the place for you! Quality: What you get is certainly worth it! PROS: Out of all supermarkets this place has the best prices. Granted many brands are knock offs that they have but it's at the same quality as other supermarkets. They're very clean and the staff is friendly CONS: Unlike other supermarkets they do not have a bakery, pharmacy, meat section, customer service counter, or a large variety of food. You need to obtain a cart with a quarter and they only have one or two registers open at a time. They also charge you 10 cents for a plastic bag. OVERALL: I know I listed many cons but if I just wanted cheap prices (which will happen in the future) I will come here, but if I want a good overall experience in my supermarket there are others to choose from read more

Given mine is the second review in the month or two this location has been open, I guess there aren't many yelpers shopping at Aldi in Bergenfield! I've been here maybe 3 times since the store has been open. I find this Aldi more spacious and upscale in appearance from the stores in Hackensack and Rutherford. Prices and selection are good and it's certainly worth the trip! Be aware than prices on staple items can vary significantly from store to store, which I don't understand! Between Aldi and the Lidl down the street, no need to grocery shop anywhere else unless you're looking for more specialty items, then you'll want to go to Trader Joe's (owned by Aldi) or Whole Paycheck! Just walked in and walked out, this store is super small, very tiny, nothing like other Aldi stores.

Guys, if you're going to shop here, please be vigilant of expiration dates especially for meats. I purchased ground lamb, only to reach home to begin cooking and realize that the meat smelt like actual poop. I looked at the expiration date and the meat had expired LAST YEAR in December. I drove back to Aldi's and received a refund for the lamb. Yup, that's all, a refund, not compensation in any way for having to drive back, no compensation for the gas and time that took, no compensation for allowing a customer to even purchase poop as meat. Maria the manager, you have a very bad attitude and no customer service training. Horrible human being and should not be in a management position. I'm not happy with how I was treated at all! I just got treated bad at Aldi's Bergenfield today by a worker named Maria, asked Maria the price of a produce while she's stocking, she was on her headphones, but she just rolled her bulging eyes at me, it seems she doesn't want to be bothered while listening to her music. Asked her again but Maria got upset, rolled her bulging eyes again, never told me the price by the way. My oh my Maria was in a bad mood today. I have been coming here after work at least twice a week, anyone in her right mind should not even treat a person like that much more a customer. Talked to the manager and she apologized on behalf of Maria. Oh well....hope Maria will not treat anyone ever like that in your store again. Piece of advice....try to be respectful and kind. read more

Yes!! An Aldi in Bergenfield :) The store is brand new and it has a lot of inventory! Just went for my monthly shopping and I only spent $55! I love this grocery store especially for produce, they always have the best prices! read more
