This review is for Aldi in Homestead 11300 sw 248 st. I just filed a complaint about scales in the produce area weighing different from the scale at the cash register. I did file a report today. I would like to know why your scale in the produce section shows the tomato weighed a little less than 1 pound, but at the cash register, the scale says they were 1.37 pounds. That's just a rip off -highway robbery. My case # 01860984. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford the price of groceries as it is. I do not need Aldi robbing me too. I just received an email back telling me they can't do anything about overcharge. This is not about overcharge. It is about improper weighing of your scales - this is totally unethical. Aldi The grocery chain Aldi has made steadied and welcomed upgrades since they came into the South Florida Market. This store in Cutler Bay is no exception. This store is large and bright and well stocked. It was renovated last year, like many of the Aldi's around the area. They have worked hard at improving the produce section. Many of the items are organic and the prices are extremely competitive. Finding quality meat is easy too. They were one of the first no-frills grocery stores. And they have done an admirable job of keeping that ethos. Very much like their sister store, Trader Joes (owned by the brother), Aldi will not have every single item on their shelves. And things do come and go. Especially seasonal items. So, if you like something... stock up. It might be back next year. It may never return. If I am out doing grocery shopping I will make Aldi's the first stop. This location has a large parking lot. So, it's usually painless to find a spot. If you find what you're looking for chances are the price will be the best around. Get your staples up, and then head to another chain to round out the other bits you need. They have tons of products, not that you will find everything but you can definitely survive with doing shopping here. From a loaf of white bread at $0.99, to Butterball turkey at $1.09/lb! and much more! Prices are super affordable!!! This location opened recently, watch out for many other locations in Miami - opening soon in Coral Way and 86th. The store is well lit, has plenty of products. As you can see, the mini grocery list, it would have been much more at another local supermarket!!! German chocolates (the selection is pretty big), Haribo Gummi Bears, Cerals, Crackers, Bread, Meat (ground meat, sliced meat), Chicken, Cornish Hen, Turkey, Salmon, canned products (i.e. vegetables, beans, etc), and many more! There is produce, sweet potato (3lbs) - $2.99, lettuce, peppers, oranges, tangerines, etc. If you are around the area, I definitely suggest you check it out. 3 main items you have to bring to the store: 1.- one Quarter for the cart - yes you will have it back 2.- cash or debit card to pay 3.- bags to carry out your groceries - you will be charged for a bag or carry everything out without a bag, your choice! Aldi...where shopping at Publix is a pleasure. You can't beat the prices at Aldi! Be prepared to lose some of the creature comforts of Publix. Environmentally friendly, bring your own reusable bags or pay a few cents per bag and know the cashiers won't bag your groceries for you. The produce is fresh the milk is inexpensive. My major gripe with Aldi...while I was shopping I noticed they stocked a food item on the shelves that should have been refrigerated. The tortellini pasta which clearly states should be "stored at 40 degrees F" (you know...to prevent food poisoning) was sitting on a regular shelf. I brought this up to an Aldi employee who gave me some answer well it only needs to be refrigerated when opened...I showed her the package that clearly stated refrigerate or freeze. I ran into the employee over by the dairy/meat area and I saw the same tortellini pasta in the refrigerated area...and I pointed it out to her...she told me well it's like different types of milk some milks are refrigerated and some are not... she was very polite but full of all the wrong answers...as I was at the check outline I saw a pack of raw chicken thawing at the register...must be that new chicken that doesn't need to be refrigerated...All I'm saying go to Aldi and enjoy the low prices but be careful what you purchase make sure if it needs to be refrigerated that it's cool/frozen read more

I stopped shopping at Publix in January, 2012 shortly after Aldi's opened in Cutler Bay. If you research the manner in which large grocery stores such as Publix are set up; you can get all the food you need if you simply shop the perimeter of the store and not stroll your cart up and down the many other aisles. How many types of bread do you really need to choose from? Or butter? Or soft drinks? Way too many choices and you spend way too much of your hard earned money on the many unnecessary choices. The additional cost of having music piped into the store, bag boys, many many clerks, an excess of employees, and thousands of choices is transferred to you, the consumer. I don't need all that in order to buy good quality and wholesome food at a fraction of Publix's prices. Aldi's is clean, organized and has any/all the food you need for you and your family. I test-tried nearly every item in the store before I completely turned myself over to Aldi's. My food bill has been cut in half, and I have been extremely pleased with the freshness and quality of the fruits and vegetables. Conversely, the low overhead of the Aldi's design is transferred to you the consumer. No frills, lower food prices, no bag boys, good solid quality food for the family. I like bagging my own groceries, I like more awareness of the environment (bring your own cloth bags), and the simple idea of actually paying a quarter for the cart, and bringing the cart to the store to get your quarter back. No shopping carts littering Aldi's parking lot. Aldi's is a simple, common sense and practical way to shop. Aldi's deserves 5 stars! read more

First the quarter for the shopping cart is a great idea when you take into account the average price for a new car is $32,000. There is an incentive to not leave the shopping cart in the parking lot and become a parking hazard. Florida is way behind the rest of the country on the shopping bag front. Miami-Dade County should tax them in order to discourage their use. South Florida is dependent on the beauty of our environment and plastic shopping bags don't help. Businesses like Aldi are socially conscience of that responsibility. Yes the decorations are sparse, the selection is limited and the prices can't be beat, but you can find European Delicacies from Germany, France and Italy with prices that don't make it a hardship to discovery new things to eat. The mussels and ocean scallops are standouts and at prices that impress. The employees are also very friendly and greet you with a smile. read more

First, you need a quarter for a shopping cart to enter the store, which is a great idea, however, the cashier places your purchases in another shopping car that usually has the chain stuck and the coin is missing. The store is a bit messy, it is difficult to find someone to help you inside the store and lately, the cashiers are extremely rude and unkind. read more

They have recently remodeled this Aldi! It's amazing! I like buying my dry goods and eggs and milk here. Every time I buy vegetables from here they go bad really fast. (Maybe we don't eat vegetable super fast....) all of the people who work here are very friendly and the cashiers are super fast! Highly recommend. read more

We were in the area when we say this European market we hs to check out. This place maybe be cheaper than Walmart! The carts are funny I couldn't figure it out you need to pay .25 cents but it is returned when you bring back the cart. They only take cash or debit cards. They also don't give you plastic bags. Similar concept to Costco but you don't need to buy in bulk. You are basically buying a portion of each opened box. To bad they don't have one closer to my apartment. I did look them up and they are all over Florida. read more

AMAZING prices and quality! No need to go to any other store (no more Publix for me). Aldi has everything that you need. If you take every item in Aldi and looked at the ingredients and compared them to the national brands - there is absolutely NO difference. The only difference is Aldi is half the price! I am hooked on their "Red Thunder" 4 pack is $2.99 compared to Red Bull that is $7.99. SAME exact ingredients and even tastes better! Check this place out! During these tough economic times, this place has helped me out drastically! Publix shop $100, Aldi (same stuff) easily $50. read more

Decent prices, friendly staff, but sometimes fruits and vegetables are either not ready or too ripped. Like most stores, the best time to shop is weekdays during the day, opposed to weekends (unless you are willing to go early in the morning). But overall a good shopping experience. read more

I'm just visiting the Cutler Bay area but wanted to stock up my daughter's shelves before leaving. I then read all of the Yelp reviews before going for Aldi's and the other local grocery stores. Having already been to Publix I knew it was going to be a very expensive trip to go there so off to Aldi's I go. Let me begin by saying how surprised I was at the very affordable prices. And unlike other reviews I found a huge selection of everything you could need i.e. vegetables, meat, dairy, etc. All were fresh and nicely stocked. And thanks to the previous comments I took a quarter and bags! And then on top of it all, I ended my trip having a nice conversation in the parking lot when I traded my cart for a quarter. So all in all, this Aldi trip gets 5 stars from me. And I'll see you in 4 months when I come back! read more

I absolutely love Aldi but this location is just not up to par... frequently there are random folks loitering around the front of the store. On one occasion, I was approached by a man at the trolly stand that I think was pulling some type of scam. The store is a bit disorganised and on walking the line to untidy. It also seems to have a lot of shortages and not nearly the selection I've seen, in even smaller stores. I will go there if I need one or two quick things, as it's super close... but I'll save my bigger Aldi trips for the next closest location. read more

I'll admit, I love this place and I go there every week or so. The products they sell here are ridiculously cheaper here than conventional grocery stores like Publix and Winn-Dixie. To get those prices though, the store has a no-frills concept, meaning there are some sacrifices they (and you!) have to make. No endless aisles of items stocked on metal shelves; the items here are stocked warehouse-style (ie: Costco, BJ's) in cardboard boxes and are all "cramped" together. You have to bring your own bags (or you can jack their empty boxes laying around for free), though they do have bags up for purchase (something like $.06 a bag, not too sure). Make sure you have a quarter on you, since you have to insert one into one of those quarter slots on the cart to use it. However, you will get it back when you return it; it's just their own way of being efficient and not needing to hire another person to run around the parking lot fetching the carts back to the store. They also don't accept credit cards (only debit and cash) and manufacturer coupons (even for national brand items they sell). On to the products now. Most of their products are their own private brand, so many of the brands you see are ones you've never even heard of. I'd say that I've tried many of their items and most are comparable if not identical to the big brands (except for their Oreos, didn't like them). If you're not brand-loyalist, you'll love this store. Occasionally you'll see a national brand in store, however. While their selection are extensive, they don't have every single item that a conventional grocery store has; you will have to still go to Publix to get cumin or bean sprouts or whatever. But they do cover many of the "essential" items that you'd generally use on an everyday basis. Their groceries are usually fresh, sometimes you may be stuck with the "bad" batch; still usable but not as pretty as it could be, whether it's from shipment or from customers mishandling it the whole time. Sometimes they run out of items, but just let the employee know and they'll probably restock it. They also have "limited-time only" items such as gourmet food and home goods that once they're gone, they're gone. They're constantly bringing new items in store that those things don't have a permanent place in the store. They also offer organic foods and healthier "lite" foods too. Another thing you have to sacrifice is time sometimes. Usually the checkout lanes go by at a good/acceptable speed, but when it comes to those days when everyone and their mother are at the store (like right after work or on weekends sometimes) waiting can be a pain as they may only have two cashiers working at a given time. The employees are nice though, so you don't have to sacrifice anything on that end. Anyway, long story short, here's a few things to remember: * Bring your own bags! * Bring a quarter! * Bring your debit card OR cash! They don't accept credit cards. * They do not accept manufacturer coupons. * Be prepared to wait at the checkout lane if there's a lot of people. * Their stock variety is extensive for a smaller grocery chain, but limited at the same time (you won't find everything that other grocery stores sell). It's definitely worth going to the first time to get the experience, you be the judge whether it's worth going to after that. :) read more

I went back to Aldi yesterday. What a difference! There were LOTS more customers there than when I had visited previously. The produce looked much more fresh and I bought cucumbers, onions (yes, even though I criticized them previously), and bananas (ditto). It seems there is greater turnover with their produce now that more people are shopping there. I saved a great deal of money and plan to return. Good luck, Aldi! read more

You wont be able to find everything here, but many of the unique items they have are a great addition to the kitchen. I truly enjoy coming here every few weeks to see what new things they have. I love Aldi so much that I am willing to drive over 20 minutes to go there. I can almost always be in and out under 10-20 minutes and never spend over $60 for all things on my list! Aldi's take credit cards now and also food stamps. I have never seen Aldi's dirty, I think that by law an establishment which sells food must maintain its cleanliness but I'm no inspector, what do I know. The nonbrand name items taste very good. This store chain also offers some German products, so for all you military and third culture families who experienced life abroad, you might find some goodies here. Schnitzel Yay! Superb chocolate choices. They offer produce which is organic and locally grown so please check your produce before you take it home and then complain about the bad produce. I have never had a bad experience here, just keep in mind to set your expectations correctly, they are not Winn Dixie or Publix. We really enjoy the specialty block cheese which is comparable to cracker barrel. The laundry detergent is 1 dollar and change for a regular sized bottle. We save at least $100 dollars shopping here weekly instead of at Publix. You don't believe me, try it. Yeah your Doritos will be called Clancy's but you'll have an extra 100 dollars in your pocket. read more

DON'T SHOP HERE!I have shopped here many times, and the last was by far the worst. After pointing out incorrect pricing, it was not fixed,by anyone and I told 3 different staff and 1 manager. The male manager, proceeded to tell me I was wasting his time and should have fixed the sign. Then after getting extremely upset with him he says " your wasting my time, come with me to fix the sign" . The staff here has no sense of accountability to their customers, they just "pass the bucket" instead of fixing any issue. I have only encountered 1 manager who really seemed to care, he has been there since the first day this store opened. I also seem to get my boxed foods smashed EVERY TIME i shop here, and if you point it out to the cashier they get very upset. I don't normally shop at this Aldi, I usually go to the one on 15033 S. Dixie Hwy palmetto bay. Overall I haven't had a bad experience until today. I ran in for some chicken cause I was running late, saw that the ham butt was on sale and decided to grab one. Sticker at the freezer said 89 cents per lb price reduce at register. Mind you there are only two registers available and the lines where long. So another register opens and I move over (BIG MISTAKE.... I should have stayed at the one I was in) The cashier rings me up no hi no welcome not even a glance but whatever I wasn't upset about it then things change....... as the transaction was complete I see the ham at regular price and ask if she could look into it. Cashier tells me the price is whatever the register said..... I tell her I understand but the sale price should be fixed at register she rolls her eyes and tells me its whatever it said on the register. She was not having it and so I asked for a manager because she was so rude and nasty then I was told there was no manager on duty and that she was in charge.... when I told her to give me her managers info and her info so I could call corporate all of a sudden she was able to reach her manager over the phone who spoke with me and offered to reduce the price of the ham to 50% off. He really didn't want to here what I had to say but he did offer to help. I told him I just wanted to pay the sale price and be treated normal.... there was another cashier a younger girl that was having the same issue and was trying to explain to her that she had to manually over ride but she refused to listen because she didn't want me to be right. I agree it can be a little more organized but keep in mind that it is not a really commercialized supermarket like Publix that has a lot of staff. The more support it gets from the community the better it will become. The quality of the food is good. A lot of organic and gluten free selections (if you're into that kind of stuff). Parking is never an issue like pulix. Prices are good. Keep politics out of food I say and that's something they seem to respect. read more
