We came across tropical village farm. There was plenty of parking, which is great. As you walk in, it's large and airy. They had a lot of different fruits and even fruit trees. We ended up buying a pepper tree as well as some fried Chicharron. The Chicharron was delicious. They had a lot of different options with some at reasonable pricing. Maggie took care of me with such kindness and top-notch service she made the visit even better. I ordered their famous 1/2 lb of chicharrones, and let me tell you, they never miss! It turned out to be a one-stop shop where I found everything I needed in one place. My main reason for this place is the huge, tender and yummy fried pork chunks(masas de puerco) at a very competitive price. I consistently order the pork, arroz Moro and aguacate to go for the whole family. My wife always order the lamb leg and cascos de guayaba(guava helmets dessert). Very large portions, great quality Cuban food, great selection of Cuban desserts and farm items. The service is great and they always help me getting the avocados that are ready to eat. My family and I decided to go on a drive down krome because it has changed so much in the last year since the road widened. We stopped here because it looked like a nice family place to go and the pictures of all the fruits and such were beautiful. Sadly, it was nothing like the photos. We were happy to go in and have lunch because there was a line for orders. The place was full so we thought it must be good. We ordered chicharones, pan con lechon and when I asked the man taking our order what was the best thing on the menu he said the lamb weekend special was the best thing they make. I ordered it and it came with morros and a few slices of tomato. We also ordered fries, merengues, a trigo shake, a papaya shake and a lemonade. The first thing they gave us was the chicharones. We went to an open table and sat down. They have all sorts of sanitizing sprays and such to clean your own table to we took advantage of that. The chicharones were the best thing we had and that's why they get two stars. A lady blared my name over the speaker once as I went to clean my hands from the grease then again, and again, and again. I would say that in less than 30 seconds she said my name 6 or more times in this why aren't you here yet tone. The wall to the counter was about 40 feet away and all they did was give us our drinks. We ate the chicharones and completely drank our drinks. The shakes were not so great. Nothing I could give hugely great reviews about. I've had much better and I can't say I've had worse. The lemonade my father says was very tart and he loves tart so that's saying something. Then we continued to wait. It was probably a good 40 minutes before I went back to the counter to find out about our order. As I asked the girl, the woman at the back counter screamed out "YOU'LL GET YOUR ORDER WHEN ITS YOUR TURN TO GET IT" I said ok and went back to my seat. 10 min later I asked her to check the order since so many had gotten theirs before us and we were there before them. The girl then said to me, we have a lot of orderd they come out when they come out and I said we ordered two sandwiches and the special. It's not complicated. She then said we have huge orders that are complicated and we would have to wait. When we finally got the order, it was NOT worth the $50.00 I spent for it. the wait or the treatment I got for spending my money there. The best thing there was the chicharones which I can get just as good in town if not better and the breeze. I would definitely never go back to this place. This is the spot on Krome Ave to get your chícharrones and other fruits. I used to go to another "sibling" farm nearby and I was not left impressed the few last times so this time, during the quarantine, we decided to support locally and make the drive out. Luckily we stopped here because this is my new favorite spot. First of all it is in the outdoors so you feel that fresh air coming through. Times like these, that's important. Second it is spotless clean. Third which is really a #1 their chícharrones are perfection!!! And great prices too. So is there food pan con lechon pan con bistec and a few others all $5. So good! And their tamales at $1.50. Also, fresh fruit juices and smoothies made to order. About $4-5. Local honey on sale and just overall good food and fruits/veggies. I love coming to this place. The food is good and the environment is very relaxing. There's plenty of seating area inside the gazebo and outside under the trees. Service was terrible. They were so incredibly rude for no reason. We ordered two batidos de mango (mango shake) and they gave us a mango juice. I went up and and said hey we actually ordered the shakes not the juice they took them back and called me over to ask for the name, they proceeded to call me back over twice looking for the receipt order to tell me no it says right here juice and I said that's not what I ordered just because that's what you put. They told me that is what I ordered and that I ordered it wrong. I said I had literally just ordered one and this was the second order and the first one was just fine so clearly it was them that misheard. Honestly they even had my husbands name on the order wrong so clearly they are not paying attention. At that point I didn't even understand what the back and forth was for clearly a mistake was made and they didn't want to correct it so I just simply asked for a refund. In our opinion, this is one of the better options for food along Krome. The chicharrones are good, better than Palacio. Crisp and meaty. We've only had pan con bistec and pan con lechon, and both are good options. They also offer completas . The fresh juices are very good as well. Prices are fair. Service is ok. Typical Miami. I can't comment on the fruit market part though. Haven't checked their prices. Maybe next time. They have ample parking and several tables if you want to eat there. Be aware that it's al fresco. The people who run this place are real helpful and patient. They have a huge selection of all kinds of fruits,vegetables, beans, legumes, peppers, honey and eggs. Stopped by here on a whim. When we got out of the car we could smell the food being cooked. When we walked under the open air chickee there were quite a few fresh fruits and vegetables on tables.
