This is the second Aldi location and by far the best in terms of location, maintenance, and collection of goods. As you enter, you need to deposit a quarter to get the cart out. Yes, believe me, the system is still there, and if you don't have a quarter, you are on your own. There is no other option to get the cart, so I have to use a cardboard box, and that helps me limit my shopping. As you enter, you will see a large selection of fruits and basic vegetable needs. Then bread and all other typical aldi variety. The variety they carry is what makes me visit aldi, and the price is very affordable. The ambiance is so good as the store is well maintained. Very disappointed in Aldi with their unethical advertising. Our family is frequent shoppers but you cannot trust their weekly ads. For instance their ad shows that the Intex pool will be sold for $49 starting tomorrow. Well my husband went to both the Malvern and Exton locations the tonight before it is even supposed to be sold and both locations already sold out of this pool. I have disappointed kids now. I've also been overcharged countless times when they don't ring up items for what it shows in their weekly paper. read more

A little piece of home...so happy that Aldi finally opened in our area. The quality of the products is great and you can't beat the prices for basics. Always look out for seasonal products and the weekly specials! Employees are very nice, especially the store managers. I want to love Aldi, but I don't find it useful for my needs. I eat a lot of whole foods with clean ingredients, which is where Aldi falls short for me. Yes, the prices are very, very good, but you sacrifice quality in my opinion. I food shop on Fridays and find their fruits and vegetables don't last and begin to rot earlier than other grocery stores I've been to. The store has many processed cookies, sweets and other items I don't really use. I bought spray olive oil without checking the ingredients, only to find it's actually an olive oil blend. Their one redeeming factor used to be their plain nonfat Greek yogurt at $3.47 a tub.... until I found that Walmart has it for the same price. I've found that Walmart has the same, if not cheaper prices than Aldi on many of the items I purchase. Even if the items are a few cents more, Walmart has more variety and "cleaner" options. Also, there is literally zero customer service at Aldi. No one greets you, smiles or asks you if you need help. If that's important to you, steer clear. With that said, I do see Aldi being great for those who want to get in and out, are on a budget and don't necessarily mind sub-par ingredients. Aldi doesn't carry much variety of the same item, so it makes the process of shopping much faster. They also carry a bunch of snack food that could be good for kid's school lunches. You know you hit boomer status when you start rating grocery stores. I love everything behind the idea of Aldi. I appreciate the affordability and the uniqueness. However, this Aldi generally just stinks, so my 2 stars comes from this location. Their AOS (junk) isle Is always lacking in supply and I find myself running to the Malvern location for a better selection of products. Also, the workers at this location are not friendly. One worker (middle aged woman with longer hair, worn back) will stock the shelves while also crowding the isle and ask people to "go around" her. She is so rude! I witnessed her telling a woman with 3 kids to go around her via the other isle b/c she was blocking the isle. She could've easily just moved her hand cart over a bit so shoppers could get by. On the plus, I always get their eggs, organic milk, cheeses, breads, and fresh pizzas. Their snack foods are hit or miss. My kids know the difference in brand taste. I do like the price savings and can easily feed a family of 4 for $70 for the week if I meal plan. read more

They may not have everything I want all of the time, but the Exton, PA, store is clean, well lit and easy to shop in. Best of all, the prices are incredibly good, sometimes even half of what I'd pay at Giant or Wegman's. It also amazes me every time at checkout; I leave with a ton of food and canned goods and may have spent as little as $50.00!!!!! When you're retired and on a fixed income, this is a God-send. Exploring Exton when I moved here brought me to ALDI. My co-worker always raves about this place so I decided to stop by one evening. They're supposedly the same company as Trader Joe's which we all know offers fresh groceries as affordable pricings. ALDI is similar in that everything is very inexpensive. Don't expect to see many name branded items here. They are mostly generic items and still quality in my opinion. They have some organic produce too which are affordable and fresh. ALDI is a good place to find staple everyday stuff. More specialty items you'll have to search and wait around for. Their stocked items change regularly so you'll never know what you find here. One thing I learned is that they don't provide free bags. Reusable bags are available for purchase at $0.10 each. They're very sturdy and well worth the $0.10. You need a quarter to release the shopping cart outside (which will be returned to you when you return your cart). They have a long counter near the checkout for patrons to place their purchased items in their own bags (that is if you brought your own which i highly recommend). I've been here a few times to buy my milk, eggs, produce and juice. Sometimes I'll have find good deals on kitchen ware, snacks and seasonal stuff. the cashiers are always pretty fast and nice. yay for ALDIs! My only dislike is you can ONLY pay with CASH or DEBIT, no credit cards which means no credit card rewards, points, etc!!!! oh, remember to grab a circular for next weeks specials on your way out!!! read more

I am very disappointed with the ALDI staff in Exton, PA. I went on Sunday and saw 2 individuals without masks walking around the store. When I went to find an employee, I was shocked to see a woman employee in the freezer section with her mask around her chin. They never approached the customers without masks.. in fact - the customers went through the entire cashier line without anyone saying anything! And when the employees themselves aren't wearing masks, how are any of us supposed to feel safe? It is ridiculous that no one said anything. Because of this, I will be taking my business elsewhere to Whole Foods. THEY are being diligent with COVID and are REFUSING SERVICE to those who are not following STATE GUIDELINES! Prices are great and they stay stocked on all my favorite foods, but I had to give them three stars for this specific location due to when I'm at the register I ALWAYS ask if they can place my items in my reusable bags and cartons and they look at me weirdly as if they can't be bothered to help. Worst experience I ever had !!!! This was my first visit to Aldi, unlike the other reviewers, it was Sunday and it was over crowded with rude buttheads who did nothing but run you over with shopping carts. The parking lot was a mad house. The store was a mess, everything was ascrew . There was more general merchandise then there was food....I thought it was suppose to be a grocery store not a department store, guess I was wrong. VERY LITTLE variety in food. I can't imagine how anyone could ever give this store anything other than a 5 star rating! This chain of stores is the best thing since sliced bread. Although they generally have their own brands of comparable brand names, their items are just as good, if not better than brand names and far more reasonable. The shelves are always fully stocked and clean. The parking lot and outside of the store is always clean and well lit. By using the quarter system, you're ensured to not get any dings in your car from carts left all over the place. The bag system, meaning bring and bag your own, is yet another way we as a people can go green and help our environment and world. The cashiers are exceptionally fast as they're allowed to be comfortable by sitting down while scanning items rather than the constant pick item up, find bar code, scan, turn, bag and back to the front belt again. It's a very unique and thorough system. Honestly the only con is that they don't take coupons but who cares because the items are so cheap already! I went to this store on a Sunday afternoon....not too crowded, very clean. I bought more than half of my grocery list here and just by doing that, I saved $30. I like that they have their own versions of things I used to buy in a regular store, like breakfast sandwiches and "lunchables". The quality of everything seems really good...the produce section can be a little tired looking, though. I love the food and selections in the store. however whenever I shop mornings, during the week, the same "always ""unpleasant" cashier is there. She is young with glasses and is very rude and always in a bad mood. It really makes the experience negative.
