One week later, a truck pulled up outside and within about an hour the old railings were gone and the new railings were installed! When he came out to the property, the quote he gave me on the phone was exactly the same as the quote he gave me in person. He scheduled me for the following week. On the day of, he arrived early with his team and when I got home from work, the fence was 99% done. His team came back the next morning and finished installing the gates. The final bill was exactly what he said it would be. We have had multiple contractors at our new home - for painting, small projects, HVAC, etc - and by far Jose was the most honest and reliable. When you have a wood fence in CT you're bound to have to repair it nearly annually, due to rotting posts, rotting panels, etc. I've been hiring the same fence company for installations and repairs as needed but this year I wanted to upgrade to vinyl. The previous fence company I'd been using just flat out didn't reply to my request for a quote. Their loss, big time. Several years ago I did get a vinyl fence quote from that company and it was considerably more than what I paid Hartford Fence to do, in 2025. Also the more expensive quote was for a white vinyl fence, which I do not like. So, that left me to reach out for other estimates and Hartford Fence came flying in with a swift estimate, excellent color options and once we made our decision and put down a deposit, they installed the thing within 9 days. These guys replied, then said they 'Don't use home depot products and don't give quotes for storm damage" when asked why the guy chuckled and said "are you an existing customer?" I said "no. I just moved to the state" he said exactly and then started to say that they can contact sub contractors. I have no idea why they contacted me and locked up my Home Depot referral if they don't do storm damage and don't work with new customers. Such garbage. Being laughed at for trying to hire a professional, unprofessional. NEVER using these guys. Would give no stars if possible. Such a waste of my time.

Based on reviews, we were very excited to work with Arrow Fence. Scott came out to measure and we received initial plans for our fence about a week later, informing us that they were scheduling 10 weeks out from the date of down payment. Upon noticing several errors to what we requested for our job on the original plans, we asked for a requote. Scott returned several weeks later and remeasured for the requote which was delivered in a timely manner. We are now about 1 month from the 1st visit. Two weeks after the visit for the requote we had still not received our quote or contract, despite multiple attempts at contact. Upon speaking with another member of the company 5 days ago we were told that Scott would be contacted that day and the contract would be sent to us that day. It was not. We tried calling every day after that and got voicemail or no response. Finally got a voicemail returned today to be told that Scott had gone on vacation starting today and would be gone for several weeks. We were also informed that scheduling was now being done 3-4 months after the deposit was placed. Because Scott is the only person that has any of our information and he is now on vacation for several weeks, we were told that we would not be able to put our deposit down and schedule our job until he returned. Our job that should have started at the beginning of February (weather permitting) is now being pushed until the beginning of May. To top it all off, almost everyone that we spoke to outside of Scott has been exceedingly rude and unconcerned with how our project has proceeded in such a slow and chaotic manner. Although our project may have been small (~$25,000), they really showed their true colors and how little they care about their customers. Our family now has to start this entire process over again with a new company, in the middle of winter with a foot of snow on the ground, having lost MONTHS of time and energy to a company that was entirely unconcerned about their poor service. I understand that companies like these are very busy right now, but how you treat people when times are less than ideal is the true measure of who you are. Arrow Fence does not measure up.

A simple business with a few key products for landscaping…read more Mulch, decorative stone, and base materials like sand, stone dust, process, trap rock, and topsoil. That's pretty much the long and the short of it. I found the perfect match for the stone beds that came along with my new home, so I only needed a yard of the "2-inch Minus River Rock" they sell to do some patchwork. Check that - I probably needed a half a yard. At least 2/3 of what I bought is now sitting in a pile behind my shed. LOL, I guess you gotta learn the hard way sometimes. Anyway, it was $60 for the yard, $35 to dump it at my home. They were there in 30 minutes so I could get started quickly on my landscaping project. I know, I could have spent less renting a truck and just getting half a yard, but $100 was well worth the beautiful results. The only slight complaint is that the load was kinda dirty. Maybe I should have known this in advance - they were getting low on the product when I arrived, so it was almost inevitable that some dirt was going to come along with it. Still, we are talking about decorative stone here. I guess a few rainstorms will clean everything up... not a huge deal. Everyone is really nice. I even once got an unsolicited callback after they didn't pick up the phone. I was just asking about their hours, but a very thoughtful gesture nonetheless.
