Aldi is a decent enough supermarket. There items are priced decently and some items are very nicely priced. The staff here is friendly enough and the place has the ambiance that we have come to expect from an Aldi. I was just picking up some water and a few snacks for my night in a hotel on a business trip. On a note that I thought was interesting was that this Aldi has multiple checkout lanes. Most Aldi locations have one checkout lane open regardless of the line. I thought this was particularly refreshing. For that reason alone (all the checkout lanes), I am giving this particular Aldi location five stars. read more

A good shop today, even though I only bought a half dozen things. Everything's less expensive at ADLI compared to Publix and it's definitely better quality than anything I would buy at Walmart. Today's shop was pleasant. No cart needed, I filled my reusable bag as I walked the store. All sections were well stocked and I did not spot anything missing from the usual ALDI merchandise. Snacks, produce, cheeses, meats, dairy, frozen, beer/wine and the Aisle of Awesomeness. The store was tidy with no litter and with cardboard displays cleared. No trash inside or in the parking lot. Every time I go the shelves are half empty. Shit is wiped out tossed all over the place. Then you're out of yogurt every single time the one I like I asked the manager that was on duty tonight if she could check in the back to see if there was some. She said to me oh normally when it's empty, that means we're out of it. Well I put my head in the cooler and I looked back there and there must've been seven or eight pallets of product sitting on the floor at least.. then I was checking out and I organize my food when I put on the belt this way they can scan the product counted, put it back like I had it and put it in the box in the cart. Well, this girl tonight she just scanned shit and threw it in my car and threw the boxes on top of my food and my food was tossed all over the place. I was pissed and I'm still pissed. I also have water in my cart. I try to keep the water in the cart so I can scan one and put it back in the cart . Well she just started scanning and throwing my food every where so I can't do that to . Where is the common courtesy and respect from employees these days I don't understand it. I will walk out of the store next time and never come back . Just about 6 months ago I've noticed the store has just been going downhill very bad. Things were never like this before. I used to say hi and employees say hi . Tonight no one said anything besides me asking for help and getting no help . The girl at the register didn't say one word to me .I probably was one of the first people to shop there. That tells you how long I've been coming . All of my friends are well known to me and their credentials far exceed anyone working there. After learning of this, another close friend of mine applied for a mgr trainee position and didn't get it. Really a great store. First time in this ALDI. The parking lot is great. Very large. The store is sort of like a warehouse feel, but on a smaller level. Prices are outstanding. Nothing seemed of a brand name, and if you're looking for a grocery size selection of gluten free, this isn't your store. Just a small selection of snack foods that are GF. I walked up and down all the isles, to see what kind of store this is. A selection of wine I noticed right away. And snacks, candy/chocolate items. Decent size of produce and vegetables, prices are amazing. Outside of food items, they had items like an air mattress, area rugs, and children's tops. They also have fresh flowers and sell reusable bags. I walked right up to a cashier. Who barely noticed me. No real greeting, just swiping my items across the counter and into a shopping cart. Not really sure how this process works. I always bring in my own bags when I do any kind of shopping, and normally I try to bag my own groceries. I'm assuming here it actually is up to the customer to bag their own. Cashiers just place in cart and you take the cart away and bag your own items yourself off to the side. Which works for me. I'm used to bagging my own. As far as the carts go. You do have to pay .25 cents for a cart, and then you get your .25 cents back when you return it back. Fair enough. Keeps carts from rolling into cars out in the parking lot. And I would imagine a cashier would have to shut down their register to collect carts outside. That helps no one standing in a mile long line. I actually wish all grocery stores would adopt this helpful habit. I'm pretty impressed with all that I got for only $25.00 I bought 13 items. 2 of which were meat items that I'm sure to get 4 meals out of each. Now that's economical!! I'll come back for sure. 60 days into opening its doors and it's already trash! Before I had even stepped for into Aldi's I heard AMAZING things from all my Northern friends and family about the grocery store. They expressed how affordable it was and was a great place to get your staples--Aldi's was their grocery gospel. Earlier this year, when I heard that Aldi was making way to Fort Myers I was elated, finally a place that is loved by many is coming to Fort Myers.. but boy was in for a wake-up call. Today I finally ventured in to Aldi's for the very first time since they opened their doors on July 27th with someone that needed to grab a few staples, we both had never been but because I've been interested in going to check the place out and decided I to would go shop for any "must" staples I may need. I arrived and when I stepped out of my car is was to total disgust. In all the bushes and landscaping at the front of the building as you walk up was trash, not just one of two sheets of a flier that got blown away, but dozens and dozens of old DECAYING paper, plastics, etc. everywhere in the landscaping. Clearly, the trash has been laying out and no one that works at Aldi's as bothered to make a sweep of the building (if at all) since the day the store opened to ensure that the outside of the building is free of any debris of unsightly mess. When I walked up I was a little confused--they charge $.25 just to get a cart? Well, this little detail must have slipped my mind or my Aldi's friends never mentioned it, but I don't know about you, but I never carry cash on me, let alone change. Even after reading the groceries FAQ's about the cart rental situation, I'm not going ever remember or bother to keep $.25 on hand just so I can rent a car at this store. Either way, not having a $.25 on me mean I didn't have a cart and I wasn't going to grab a cart to put items in if I liked something when I was there. At the very least it only meant I would grab what I could carry ($) versus a whole cart of things ($$$) that I wanted. A huge potential loss of money in their book before I even stepped in the door. The inside was even worse. It's like Save-a-Alot had a baby with Dollar Tree and birthed a smaller version of themselves combined. That wasn't the worse bad, the worse part was the mess inside and empty shelves. Everything was destroyed and barron. I ended up walking through (which took all about 45 seconds since the store is pretty petite) the whole store in serious disbelieve. I honestly couldn't get over how bad it looked. This is a bad new store that hasn't even been open for more than 60 days and it's already trashed--the managers or employee clearly don't care. There was a fork-lift with a pallet of empty boxes on the floor and boxes of product that looked liked it just was literally thrown on the shelf, that's of what wasn't fallen over into the actual aisle. I don't know how or why it looks so terrible, but it was the biggest disappointment ever. I wouldn't ever recommend this place. The prices aren't much cheaper than Walmart of Target, both places you can have a better experience (and that's saying something about Walmart). At least they don't charge you for carts and grocery bags--and that's saying something since I don't like Walmart or support them, but they'd a better option than this place. read more

Great unbeatable prices on off brand foods. And the fruits & vegetables are cheap!! They don't always stock items consistently but at these prices I cannot complain. I love the fact that Aldo knows how to market its product and save the customer money. I have to admit that on my first visit this Fall I found the grounds were trashy. I spoke to the manager about it and urged him to clean the grounds or he would lose customers. I returned in two weeks and found a crew of people from a company hired to clean the grounds. It looked great. I am amazed that people are willing to put in a quarter to get a cart and always bring the cart back for their quarter. No messy carts in the lot, no overhead to pay someone to manage carts! Why pay for bags when people can use their own and save the environment the mess of plastic bags. I love Aldi! read more

Very busy Market. That's because they recently opened up and have been there now for about 3 Weeks now. We can't wait until the Aldi opens up in our Area. They just built our location up and they are about to open up too. Place is super nice in Fort Myers and they have big signs on the walls, great low affordable prices as always. Veggies and Fruits look so fresh and all the food there looks so tasty. My family and I shop at the Aldi chains for a while now. I leaned about Aldi from my Wife and her family that Lived in MD and I then my wife started going to Aldi's in Northern Va, because that's where I was from. Anyways this Aldi super big, Nice set up, spent about an hour inside grocery shopping. Employees working super hard. Cleaning stocking and doing the jobs that need to be done. Let's face it: It's warehouse shopping, but it's smart shopping on a European level. Everything at Aldi saves you money. I buy the Asian and Sweet Kale chopped salad kits for $2.49. Each kit is good for three meals for me. Trying the Southwest chopped salad kit today. Aldi offers many gluten-free and organic selections, including organic meats. The cheese selection is lovely, and again, affordable. Today I invested in the 8-oz. artisan cheese with roasted garlic, tomato and basil. Set me back $2.99. The Never Any mild Italian style chicken sausage has no nitrates or nitrites added and costs $2.99 for four standard-sized links, perfect for sausage, peppers and onions on a roll. Oh, and the bread prices are fantastic. Instead of $5+ for a loaf of sprouted bread, I paid $2.89. Love the Casa Mamita jarred salsa - better taste and $1.49 for a 24-oz. jar. A bag of tortilla round chips to go with it: $1.49. Because my kids like potato chips, I buy them there - again at half the price and better than Lays. Frozen pizzas are terrific, and we stock our freezer with the spinach and goat cheese variety for quick meals. I even scored makeup remover towelettes for $1.39 a pack. Aldi's vast selection of German holiday sweet treats requires additional time for exploration. So many options! We are selective, and our selections have paid off. If you want your bill to be $95 instead of $200, bring your own bags and a quarter for the shopping cart (refunded when returned) and enjoy the savings at Aldi. read more

I like this store and location, but they REALLY need to keep all the pickleball players from using their parking lot. It's extremely frustrating that these people are taking up spaces for hours in a private parking lot that should be customers ONLY. It's not even one or two people...it's probably at least a dozen or more cars a day. They should at least post a sign. read more

I really like shopping here because it's close to my home and prices are reasonable. You have to watch the produce though. I've had some cucumbers, tomatoes, etc that went bad like in one day. It's sad that management does not keep the outside clean. There is alot of trash around the building and it's getting worse! I generally shop there 1-2 times/week and see it getting worse. We visited the Aldi in Cape Coral, FL for the first time today & were amazed. Our daughter goes to the one in Sanford, FL & told us what great prices they have. She was not lying. She also mentioned the quarter for a cart & grocery bags, so we were prepared. We did try to go there Sunday, but you couldn't even find a parking spot. The cashier told us that weekends & Wednesdays are really busy, so we will avoid those days. If you only buy name brands, you will not like this store. We really don't care as long as the food isn't expired. We will definitely go back now that we know what they have. read more

I really wasn't sure what to expect at Aldi's. My uncle up north said I should check it out. I took my Mom.....she is incredibly picky on where she will shop. We were both shocked at the small parking lot. We also were not too excited at the neighborhood, but it was 1 pm on a Tuesday, so we decided to head in. I was impressed. Aldi almost seems like an old time supermarket. It was clean, which impressed my Mom. We didn't actually buy anything, just walked through. Both of us were impressed with the prices, but could find very few name brands. I thought that was good. My Mom was a bit hesitant. She was impressed by the meat section though.
