We had some extra time before a brunch reservation nearby so we decided to wander through The Fresh Market in Bell Tower for the first time. It was quite busy for an Easter Sunday. Lots of people shopping for flowers and treats for the day. It reminds me of a mini Whole Foods or a Fresh Thyme store and similar to Trader Joe's. I would say their pricing and ambiance is also similar to those stores. We did see some items we might go back for, but for today, we found some Easter treats for the young kids who live next door to us. We will go back, probably not for major shopping, but for a specialty item or two. read more

Quick visit to Fresh Market for their Thursday Specials. We got a flavored barbecue chicken for $5! Absolutely delicious and an easy dinner. We used to buy them when we lived in Coral Springs and they would sell out quickly. Also had a shrimp sushi for $5 too! A lovely apple pie for $12.99 and a ciabatta bread. The pie was fresh, juicy and had a great crust. I went home and had a little piece of bread with farmer cheese, tomato and smoked salmon! Perfect for my lower carb diet. Glad I downloaded the Fresh Market App and can enjoy the specials they advertise every day! read more

Fresh Market adds another choice of healthy, fresh, and organic places to shop. It's closest of the three other places we like to shop at and easy to get to being in the Bell Tower Shops at Daniels Pkwy and U.S. 41. The employees are friendly and courteous. The store is extremely clean. The deli area has a tremendous selection of fresh salads, pastas, and cheeses to name a few. I enjoy their fresh roasted chicken salad. It's very good and when one purchases a pound or more you get 4 free croissants! The two combine for a great lunch!! As a dessert/treat, try a slice of their Ricotta Cheesecake! I made the mistake of shopping hungry and ended up buying entirely too much food. It all worked out, but it was definitely a little spendy. Chicken breasts, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, tomato sauce, garlic bread (not for me) and something for dessert. Not an inexpensive bill but all good quality. I ended up making a really nice Chicken Parmesan (using the parmesan cheese instead of bread crumbs). Great service in the butcher area. Lots of cheese options. As every Fresh Market I have ever shopped at,no customer service to speak of. Trying to order anything at the deli is a crazy experience. This the case in all of the stores.I have shopped lots of times in 3 different states.It is obviously a company wide systemic failure on many levels. My last seafood counter experience was mind boggling awful. I waited for a very long time for an employee to acknowledge me. He then insisted I should buy a huge piece of salmon,when I only wanted 2 pieces. Off to the deli,out of 4 people behind the counters,nobody could be bothered to ask me if they could help.There is a lot if busywork,without actually working,going on there.It always takes an excruciatingly long time to get deli meat sliced,in every single store I have ever been to. The last and final time I was there,I ordered the lunch special,pizza and a salad.When an employee,after a long long wait,took my order,she said they had to bake the pizza first,but didn't know where the salad was. None of the staff knew where to find said salad.Extremely frustrating shopping experience.We inflicted this horror on us weekly as we went to get the ground meat and chicken special.Even that is not viable anymore,that meat is not remotely as good as it once was. read more

The parking lot is large, it's in a shopping center. Carts are kept neatly inside. The store itself and very nice and stocked shelves. It's a small store. The first thing I noticed is a shopping cart being pushed across tile floors. The bumps and noise this causes was annoying. The prices are crazy expensive. Never had I seen 1 avocado, and I'm not even talking an organic avocado, just a regular 4225 avocado for $2.50! That's insane. Yikes. A lot of the produce was very expensive. And the grocery side of the store very high in cost. Needless to say. I won't be going back. I give 3 stars for cost and flooring choice. It's a nice small clean store. read more

This is probably my favorite local Market. When you walk in the doors during this Autumn Season....you can smell the cinnamon wafting in the entryway. I absolutely love the Italian Sausage from the Butcher. We've also tried the Filet, Bacon, Chicken, Ground Burger Meat, Salmon, Crab Cakes and Pork Chops. The cheese section has a wide array from all around the globe. The fresh made salads are crisp and bountiful from the deli. The bakery and bread items are always fresh...the Ciabatta loaf is my favorite for dipping in Seasoned Olive Oil & Balsamic. The Coffee Bean selection is also global and available for Fresh Grinding. Great daily and weekly specials are available...in addition to some very cute indoor/outdoor seating. read more

Despite reviews I read, I thought the staff was super helpful, more so than Publix. I bought chicken, shrimp and steaks and they were beautiful and a quality I could not get in a regular grocery store. This award of a star goes to the deli behind the counter stuff. I got a smallish 2 serving broccoli and almond with cranberry salad for 5.50. It was swimming/saturated in so much oil it left my lips coated and was pretty flavorless overall. I added some cider vinegar to cut the oil but no amount could make it better.(see photo) anyway not worth trying again and a waste of ingredients and money from the deli. Which is a shame since it takes up a major portion of the store. Also have had the wings, which once were good, and second time so dry I threw them out at home immediately so they did not have time to dry out more in the fridge. The pork loin once also good and the second time was so dry it could not be eaten. I have had jerky moister and more chewable than that. So someone is not refreshing and checking time and temperature. That said I've always had luck with their fresh produce and a lot of other things in the store, like the fish and most of the meats; the pecan coated chicken breasts are very good. The checkout clerks are usually pleasant although I'd describe most as a little quirky, from rude to telling me about what they eat, how their life is etc., Interesting but not asked for. The Fresh Market in the Bell Tower Shops is a terrific high-end market. The meat and seafood counter is excellent, the produce is always fresh and amazing and the prepared foods are very good. The Fresh Market is small, about the quarter of the size of a typical Whole Foods, so the selection is limited. Whenever we are in the area we are sure to stop in and stock up. read more

Ever since this store was taken over by "New management", It's become a complete DUMP! The Store Manager Aaron and The Assistant Store Manager Jessica don't know how to manage the store properly and it REALLY shows. Since when is it okay for employees to talk about personal things on the sales floor around customers? About a week ago, I over heard a interesting conversation between an Assistant Front End Manager who wears glasses with long dark brown hair and another cashier about how the store failed the health department visit by receiving 7 critical violations and how Jessica PAID a customer to go to another store and purchase a turkey because they ran out of them DURING Thanksgiving! One of MANY issues with this store is NO ONE answers the phones, The coffee bar looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months, The creamer container has crust inside where the creamer pours out and inside the top piece that seals the container closed, The coffee tastes like different flavors because the coffee dispensers look like they've never been cleaned out and it's always cold and looks like mud. Most of the employees are very friendly and are always willing to help but you can tell they're over worked and not happy working there. How this store is still even open if they can't do the simplest things is beyond me. I really hope it improves or it definitely deserves to be closed permanently. read more

Very nice location. The staff was very friendly, and we were super appreciative they were open during the days leading up to the hurricane. I had some of the Shrimp Ceviche which was excellent, and my sister in law had a very healthy sushi roll she loves getting from there. It was wrapped in lettuce with tuna, salmon, avocado, and maybe cucumber? I don't recall exactly but no carbs and very fresh! We also picked up some of the antibiotic free chicken on sale for $1.99 a lb. and some of their mashed potatoes already made. They have three sizes you can order of the products they sell already made. On top of the counter, they show the three sizes so you can help gauge how much to order. Walked in here this week for the first time and noticed how many unique items they have. They had some nice dinner music playing which didn't seem to be right. The prices are pretty high here, though can be expected with all that they carry. I picked up a slice of carrot cake and it was very dense, not as good as the Publix one I usually get. Staff were friendly. Restrooms near exit were clean, just like the store. read more

I shop Fresh Market weekly. My family knows it's one of my favorite places to visit! Crazy right! I understand their prices are higher and I pick and chose what I want to purchase. Check out their weekly specials and don't buy those avocados if they're to costly. There are other places to shop in our area. I shop elsewhere too but am very thankful we have this store in Fort Myers. I used to drive to their Naples store just for the fun of shopping with them before we had the Bonita or Fort Myers stores. The staff at Fresh Market are always helpful and friendly. The produce selection is very good and the items look fresh. They offer specialty items not found in many super markets. They have a fantastic meat market. We purchased a standing Rib Roast for our Christmas Dinner and it was one of the best Prime rib dinners I have ever had.. of course the cook was excellent as well. Some of the meats will be more expensive than those you purchase from other grocery stores, but I stand by my comment that the meat is so much better. Its also nice to be able to select what you want and not get stuck with a pre packaged product. You can order a special size roast or a certain thickness of steak... something you cant do at many chain stores. They also have a nice deli. I have purchased a cooked pork roast, and it was so moist and tender.. yumm. I have also had their pannini sandwich which was fantastic. I have really enjoyed most of the pre cooked food items from their deli, so if you need a place for a quick take home meal that isnt like a standard take out place, give their deli a try. Lots of wine to choose from and a pretty good selection of unique beers also. They have a bakery, but its not my favorite. The deserts look great but I have been disappointed with the flavor. read more

A few days before the Super Bowl, I walked in during rush hour and went directly to the Cheese Selection. Unfortunately, that day there was a limited variety of 15 choices and most were cheddar and empty black space. I chose a piece and found that most of the Cheese was not priced. It took 5 minutes to get help because every other customer was demanding rotisserie chickens. The Produce was well stocked! The grocery selection is nice, wish there was a selection of olive oils similar to Vom Fass! Good Dairy and Bakery selection. No staff that engaged me. I said "hi" to the cashier first! I've worked in customer service and nobody seemed positive about their position. read more

I used to love this market. Now it has to be one of the worst in the area. My main reason to come here was always the bunch dill. A nice big fresh bunch for $1.99 The last 3 times they had no bunches. They have tiny packet of one sprig. Literally 1 sprig for $1.99 and another with two old yellow sprigs was almost $4 ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I needed dill to make my home made pickles what can do with one sprig? I would need like 10 or more of those packets. That would be $20 to make one bunch of dill. They also have almost no produce and it's even more expensive than wholefoods. I am never going back to this location. They have lost my business. I would rather drive to Naples than shop here. So disappointed. read more

A ridiculously expensive grocery store but one that has lots of goodies. Their prepared food dept is awesome but it will break your bank - well mine anyway. I am writing this review to highlight the fact that the store allowed a non service dog and its owner to enter the shop. I complained to the staff who said people were not allowed to bring their non service dogs but there was nothing they could do if people lied about their dogs being service dogs. I made an official complaint to corporate customer service so lets see what happens. So to really kill this what would happen if I entered with a snarling pit bull - would that still be ok rather than a white fluffy huge poodle dog on a older lady leash? This is the first time I have seen a non service dog in a grocery store and remember service dogs are highly trained disciplined dogs. Shameful that dogs are allowed in grocery stores. This is a complaint against corporate policy and NOT against any member of staff. read more

I've been shopping at Fresh Market for 4 years but will have to stop. Here are my reasons. On my past three visits I have been overcharged for items advertised at the door , as you enter. It happened again today and I was told " oh that happens all the time, they put up the promotional signs but don't change the computer". The Cashier was trying to issue a credit on my credit card but the register wouldn't allow it . I was given cash and the Cashier kept my receipt to balance her register. She then handed me my bags and said you are all set. i looked in the basket that i had placed my food in, saw it was empty so naturally assumed all was well.When I got home two items were missing. $20 of Sushi. I believe the poor lady was rattled and forgot to hand me one bag. I called the store and asked for help. The person I spoke with told me I had to come back, speak to the manager who might help. Its a 1 hour drive for me. That put me in a difficult position when I had no receipt. I'd rather forget it, never shop there again and go on my way. If you shop here you must be very careful and watch everything. Check prices , quality, expiration dates and your bags. Better yet maybe stay away. A sad decision for me because the Sushi maker is A+ and ill miss having her products. It makes me a bit sad. read more

The meat department is excellent. You can catch good deals and the quality is about the best in the area. The bakery is superb for a grocery store it is as good as many stand alone bakeries. Immediately after entering the store the smell of fresh flowers, flavored coffees and other delicious smells draw you further into the store. While many fresh produce here may be a little more expensive there is absolutely a greater variety not found elsewhere. The butcher counter is loaded with great variety and cuts of meats you select. An amazing deli,fresh pizza, fresh sushi and other great selections to immediately satisfy your immediate hunger with seating outside to enjoy. There is a large salad bar, olive bar and often times a refrigerated stand with prepared shrimp salad and other appetizers. Everything is amazingly fresh. Here you can find those special ingredients found no where else. read more

Not sure why this place only had 3 stars. I'm from out of town & was staying near by. I wanted to pickup some prepared food but while I was there I took a good look around. It's a smaller market but the quality of the food was excellent. The sushi looked amazing especially for grocery sushi. Plenty of sandwiches & wraps to chose from. The salad bar looked good but they also had prepared salads of all kinds that looked delicious. Hot food consisted of pizza, hot sandwiches, fried chicken strips, roasted full & half chicken, asparagus, garlic new potatoes & etc. I chose a container that was already put together (half roasted chicken, new potatoes & asparagus) & a Chinese cold noodle salad. Both were very good. To expand of the products here, the store pretty much has everything grocery wise: meat, cheeses, dried goods, fresh produce etc. Yes, the prices are a littler higher than regular grocery store but the quality is there. read more

This market is located in the Bell Tower shops off US 41. The best way I can describe it is a cross between a Whole Foods and a Publix. It looks a little like a Whole Foods, but the actual selection is not much different than your local Publix. They do have a large olive bar, and the largest selection of organic produce I've seen in the area yet. Two stars for the organic greens! But other than those two items, I really didn't see anything unique about this store. Atmosphere is cozy and cute, more upscale than a grocery store. But one gets the feeling the "market" vibe is merely contrived. Also due to misc "market" decoration-type items for sale such as cinnamon brooms, pine cones, etc. there is a heavy scent of fragrance/potpourri, so if you have allergies, you might want to think twice before entering. Despite the name and appearance, there are no more health food or specialty items (e.g. organic, gluten free) here than Publix. Many healthy-looking food items had additives, preservatives, and other unnecessary ingredients (i.e. corn syrup). Even the "fresh" selections in the deli area included ingredients you cannot pronounce. I guess that's why I felt like the whole "Fresh Market" theme seems to just be a marketing gimmick. Staff were helpful and pleasant. If you have money to burn, are not picky about what you eat, and are looking for a friendly, upscale place to shop, I'm sure this is fine. If you are looking for actual fresh/natural/health food, try Mother Earth or a local Farmer's Market. read more

If you want a deli sandwich for lunch here is a random place to consider. You can choose from about 6 types of rotisserie chicken or turkey on their fresh baked bread! I would normally give this store four stars. But they lack signage about masks at the front entrance, and apparently have elected not to request mask usage from their customers. So I won't be shopping here as long as this policy is in place. And yes, I get that the governor doesn't make it mandatory. And there is no information whatsoever on where their chicken comes from. It is definitely not range free and the guys working the meat counter are so rude when you ask questions, especially the dude who talks and looks like he's in the middle of a steroid rage. He was so rude last time I was in there, I left thinking "I need to write a review", and here I am....my first review ever. Apparently there is another natural store opening up down the road. Honey crisp apples: $4.99 lb. Bel Gioioso mozzarella cheese $9.99 lb Are you kidding me? $10 a lb for mozzarella cheese. Went to Costco yesterday as well. bought two 1 lb logs of Bel Gioioso mozzarella cheese for $7.50. That is $3.75 a lb. This place should be investigated and renamed Fresh Ripoff. read more

I remember when they first opened years ago. The place was a real gem. Very lively and a great selection of specialty items and high quality produce. While their meat section is still decent, the store overall has lost a lot of that uniqueness that it had in it's earlier days. I would also add that prices are very high on some items. I only come here for certain specialty oils or seasonings that I might not readily find at the average supermarket. read more

The Fort Myers Fresh Market is quite poor now. Very poor inventory rotation and stocking. Personnel that is not very knowledgeable. Out of stock often on the basics. Very uneven bakery goods...sometimes excellent, other times over baked or dried out. I've shopped at Fresh Market for 18 years...first in Naples ( a very long drive for me) then in Fort Myers once they opened here. It makes me very sad to see it so poorly managed. Those that think they are getting organic products would do well to actually read the shelf tags. Often they do not align with the vegetables offered. I think they must think they are like Comcast in Fort Myers....no competition. There are some things I can not get anywhere else...Neuske's bacon for instance, although I think it is perhaps not that brand anymore, but in the "style" of Neuske's. Where is the gluten free in this area? What about the dairy free? I've been looking since we moved here. Nothing.... I've gone to several small "natural" markets which have a very small selection. These small stores will order things for you, but what if you don't want to wait a week for an item of food? It was just inconvenient. Finally, I see THE FRESH MARKET on my drive home.
