We were looking for things to do in Fort Myers and Sun Harvest Citrus popped up on the list. This place is easy to spot with the giant orange out front. I was unsure of how worthwhile stopping at a citrus market place would be, but we had some time to kill and Sun Harvest Citrus ended up being such a good find! There's plenty of parking. As we walked up to enter the market, everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) was eating ice cream from here. These people got the memo - the ice cream is where it's at! They also have a juice bar in the back where you can sample the fresh juices. I don't even like orange juice and even I found the cranberry orange and strawberry orange juices to be sweet, delicious, and refreshing - the perfect treat in the Florida heat. They had other flavors like grapefruit juice, classic orange juice, tropical orange (pineapple), and a peach orange. Juices are available by the half gallon and single bottles. They even had a chips and salsa sample which is also made fresh. We grabbed some local tasty treats as souvenirs - popcorn, salt water taffy, jerky, coffee, cookies, etc. They also have homemade key lime pie - available by the whole pie, half, and slice. And of course, we had to get the ice cream! I got the orange dreamsicle cone, which is their orange soft serve and vanilla swirled together. Great flavor, great texture - no complaints! There was also a key lime flavor (also delicious) in addition to more classic flavors. They have three sizes - kiddie, single, and jumbo. The kiddie size was the perfect little pick-me-up treat. You can also get fresh juices and other bakery items. We found a coupon in one of our Florida brochures for the ice cream which they honored without issue. We also saw a coupon for the big bottles of juice. There's a couple tables inside and additional benches and tables outside to sit and enjoy your goods. Sun Harvest Citrus did not disappoint! Very touristy but love the free samples of orange juice. My personal favorite was the peach orange juice but they had a ton of different flavors. Parking wasn't bad and if you're looking for a souvenir from Florida then this is the place to go and you can definitely spot where you are by driving down the road and seeing a big metal orange. This place is full of souvenirs to potentially bring back: spices salt, and pepper, shakers, alligator jerky, Florida, popcorn, coconut candies,etc. I love that you can have samples of the juices before buying. They even had some salsa and chip samples. They are shown to have a coupon in the touristy maps and guides. One where you can use to actually get a discount on your ice cream. I ordered the dreamsicle which is the most popular, but I didn't have a chance to look at the sizes and after ordering realized that the lady, I just put me in for the regular size which was too much sugar for me. If it does, though she was kind of rushing me which I didn't love. Also, if you're wanting to use the coupon, you have to have your own copy and cut it out/rip it out. And it's also one per order. I also ordered the Keylime pie. I like the filling. It had a very much coconut flavor probably because they use more coconut milk, but their crust on it was not very good. The cream score was actually pretty good. It was a hot day so it melted pretty quickly, but I liked the orange thing that it had and balanced with the vanilla. read more

So I drove by this place a couple times thinking I should go in and get myself some oranges. That's what you think when you drive past it, right? I was so wrong! This place has citrus, they shipped citrus, they have locally made Keylime pies, honeys, baked goods, fresh squeezed juices, and you can even get ice cream while you're there! They even sell Florida specific goods! I ended up getting some local honey, a citrus press, and some freshly squeezed orange juice. Of course, when the sweet lady at register told me that I needed to try the ice cream, I had to oblige. The place also has different versions of freshly squeezed orange juice. They had this amazing peach syrup that was put in orange juice. I highly recommend the peach/orange juice. I really like Sun Harvest Citrus. They had very fresh oranges and had a wide variety of orange breeds to sample. And the samples were fresh and excellent. They have a wide selection of citrus related items. Like citrus pistachios, citrus ice cream (which was also really good as well) they also had tropical taffy and a lot of merchandise regarding to Fort Myers. The ice cream was very creamy and good. The staff came out quick with our ice cream cone and milkshake. As well as quickly scanning our items like citrus pistachios that we bought. Visited Sun Harvest during a trip to Fort Myers. So different than our last trip about nine years go. We had plans to visit the area the summer of 2020, but then the COVID pandemic hit. Place is still at same location, but much busier now and much more commercial in setup. About same products, but now oranges in bags are available, the counter area and line to checkout are much tighter. When we visited in the past, place was not as busy, orange juice dispensers were open to everyone and there were tables in the middle for sitting to enjoy your ice cream. Still the nicest ice cream yo u could hope for. Same flavors and options, just more people. Even the post office lost space as souvenirs overwhelmed the space. A definite place to stop. read more

What a very nice gift shop. When pulling up to the huge parking lot (with lots of space to easily access the store), I initially thought it was a farmers market, but it's more of a gift shop with lots of citrus and treats. If you want fresh juice, then I'd say this is your place. Just beware that the juices are not priced as low as your supermarket juices. What was most special about Sun Harvest Citrus is the fresh scent of citrus fruits that takes over your senses as soon as you walk in. It is the most refreshing smell to walk into. You're greeted by many varieties of oranges and grape fruits and a sampling station where you can try the many options they offer. This area was so clean and the entire store is well kept. The samples are extremely delicious and make for a smoother fruit selection process. As you walk through the store, you can find locally made treats like orange chocolate bars and cinnamon rolls, as well as gifts and trinkets. There is also a huge juice selection where you can choose from delicious flavors like cranberry orange blend, strawberry orange blend and so many more. Great citrus place to be. Especially for the citrus juice. They have mixologist that mix all different juice in different categories. All the juice products are extremely good. They do have 100 oranges and grapefruit juice. But I like the most is their mix juices oranges strawberries or oranges cranberry. Other than juices, they have souvenirs for sales especially for people just visiting Sanibel Island and leaving to I-75. For hot summer, don't forget to try their orange flavored soft serve. My last visit was in 2018 and I haven't stopped thinking about this place since then, LOL! Why? Because they are the only place I have ever found the Davidson of Dundee Tangerine or Honeybell marmalade, hands down my favoritest of all things that is orangey! This time I made a beeline here before returning to the airport to fly home and I had no pride, I stocked up on those jars, then I went to my suitcase and packed them super securely - precious cargo indeed. Too bad I only had time to come here at the end of my trip - had the timing been right, I would've come upon arriving into RSW (just 15 minutes away) and stocked up on their fantastic orange juice too. read more

This place was pretty neat. If you're looking for some local favorites I would highly recommend. I purchased a few of their oranges and they were pretty good. The OJ they sold was sadly not on par with anything you can get at the grocery store. The real masterpiece was the soft serve ice cream. They have a key lime pie and an orange sherbet that was extremely delicious. I would come back here just for the soft serve. The prices on some of the goods in there were a bit high. The orange blossom water smelled amazing but I can't justify over $10 for an oz because the bottle is shaped like a tiny orange. I came here so excited for fresh juice (we love juicing). They have fresh samples of their most popular juices and we finally narrowed it down to the orange strawberry juice being our favorite. It was super thick so I started to question the ingredients, just to look at the back and find their juices have high fructose corn syrup in them. I wouldn't be advertising these juices as "fresh juice" if it's just pumped full of bad ingredients. I was very disappointed and the juice is very expensive ($3.39 for a tiny bottle and something I could have bought at the store). We ended up getting a treat (orange vanilla cone) and it was great! I was expecting those ingredients to be bad for you, so that's a different story! Their baked goods do look store bought as well, nothing special! Holy goodness gracious me, this place is just the WHOLE package. Back in the day, when I was just a wee lad, I was vacationing in Florida with the family, and we stopped here multiple times for grapefruit, oranges, ice cream, trinkets, and trankets! So when we came back to Florida after 8 or 9 years, we HAD to come back. Wow, just wow. It was so fantastic and everyone was so nice. We have already stopped in twice and we plan to stop in again when we leave! The first time, we got some juice, rum cake, and cones to lap up outside. What a blast! Personally, I tried the key lime pie, but the SECOND time we went, I WAS FEELING QUITE ADVENTUROUS! (Oh yes I was). I tried the KEY LIME PIE SWIRL WITH CHOCOLATE and boy oh boy oh boy oh boy! That was a good, intriguing, interesting, and intricate mix of flavors! Not only THAT, I also got some delicious molasses cookies and a MANATEE! Man! Amazing freshly squeezed juice. They also have fruits and other goodies. Years ago you could just pour your own, but now they have staff that do it for you. They are very friendly tho.
