Needed to make a quick stop before heading to an event to grab some water and snacks to hold me…read moreover for the day. My intentions were to go to a competitor up the road, but saw this first. I figured I would pull in here and get it done. That way I could continue on my way fairly easily. I can confirm what one reviewer said. the parking lot here feels way too small for the location. I was here early morning and it was already nearly jampacked. I was lucky to find a parking spot and ran inside. Before I go too much into that, I wanted to touch on when I came back out. That was when I noticed that there was a broken glass bottle in the spot I took. I was lucky it didn't puncture my tire. Inside, I just did a real quick once through. I have never been in this location before. The store is laid out rather nicely and every aisle is well marked as to what is in every aisle. It made it easy for me to find things I wanted to look at. I came across a few deals and grabbed what I wanted. I made my way to the self checkouts and this is where I got a bit frustrated. One of the items, that I got two of, would not scan. No matter what I did, I could not get it scanned. I had to type the item in. Not once, but twice. Halfway through putting the second one in, it hit me with a message and made me have to go back and start over. All the while the employee sat there and watched me. Whatever, I came here and got what I wanted, even though it took longer than it should have.

I assumed maybe 20 minutes but it ended up being double that ... closer to 40 minutes. That's my biggest complaint and reason for avoiding this location. It's always sooo flipping crowded, which is obviously good for them but a nuisance for customers. Also, it's sooo flipping hard to get in and out of the parking lot. Haven't quite figured what day or time is best to shop here. Anybody have any suggestions? LMK.

So I frequent this store a lot and actually like it. However, tonight as I walked in with my fiancé…read moreto get one small item around 9:29pm there was something we did not like. The hours say this store closes at 10pm, and again we walked in at 9:29pm. I'm not sure what the issue was with one of the young ladies working during this shift but there was obviously no self-checkouts open (like usual as of lately) so unfortunately yes it means we had to let you check us out. But the female behind the counter who had what appeared to plaits or braids in her hair with a skully cap went behind the counter as we walked up but had her back to us and huffed and puffed several times to show her irritation that we came to the checkout counter. Then proceeded to continue doing so with her back turned to us, and as the customer (and yes I've worked in customer service retail before) I should not have to make an announcement to you that I'm standing here at the counter. As if her attitude and passive aggressiveness wasn't enough, she then proceeded to say, "So y'all just going to stand there and ain't gon say anything?" I just looked at her and gave her a look that showed I'm not entertaining her ignorance. Then she said, "Okay was that it? " and we said, "Yes." and of course she continues on with the attitude and then says, "Okay.... have a good night " after she rang us up. Again I wasn't going to dignify her ignorance with a response. But I am writing this review so management can know one of the young ladies that worked that current shift tonight needs to be reprimanded and she definitely needs to be retrained on what GOOD customer service is because that clearly was not it at all; I have definitely always experienced better customer service from other workers there during the day shift and the night shift, but this is the first time I experienced extreme rudeness from start to finish. Again I've worked in customer service and retail and I understand it can be a frustrating job and it could be long days for people, however if you're going to project your negative mood and attitude onto the customers then maybe that's not the job for you and don't show up to work. This is another reason I agree with what other customers have said about the self checkout lines; if customers they're going to have to be dealing with disrespect like that on a regular basis then the self checkout lines need to be open for us to check ourselves out in peace.

Not a bad store to pick up some small items, especially if you aren't in the mood for Walmart or…read morethe other big box stores. I found everything I needed with little hassle and was greeted very politely by at least one or two employees. They only have one cashier usually so bring your patience. And, the white fellow with all the tattoos licks his fingers to get the bags loose....wasn't fond of that. But, luckily he went on his break by the time I reached the register. Overall, not a bad place to grab a few essentials. Update: I found some foreign particles in my Gain washing powder. And, the candy I bought was old and expired. I went back to the store to exchange and the manager initially refused to return my money. My husband had attempted to give her the details but apparently wasn't clear. After a somewhat heated exchange the manager Ms. Matthews allowed an exchange which I was very grateful for considering I did not have my receipt only a copy of the exchange in my bank records. It was all good in the end. I will say, I won't buy any food from this location. I'm sure the bug or whatever it was slipped in through the manufacturing process. Also, the store is extremely dirty. It needs a good deep cleaning. Management will return your items at their discretion but seem to be reasonable and professional.

I'll be the first to admit that Aldi used to make me itch…read more Like Dollar General and Dollar Stores for the most part still do. Back in the day, Aldi stores had product that was poorly merchandised and the interior of their stores reminded me of food pantries. Very uninviting, disorganized, basic and off-brand...so I avoided them except for the occasional crate of strawberries or piece of fruit - which I would quickly buy, then leave. That was about five years ago. I bought a lime one time I think, but I was building up my nerve over time in small doses lol. I started going into a few more Aldi locations consistently about two years ago after someone turned me on to those CLANCY'S chips. Couldn't believe how good they were and for such a ridiculously low price. For many years prior I was going to regular grocery stores or Walmart/Target spending $4-$6 for a "family size" bag of chips that's two-thirds air anyway. Where those KETTLE brand chips were on "sale" for $2.50 a bag. Otherwise, $5 a bag. I don't buy chips from anywhere other than Aldi now. Same chips $1 a bag, or less depending on which you buy. Although limited, their produce is suprisingly good too. And even some organic stuff if that's your thing. An Aldi cucumber - 49¢. A Safeway cucumber - $1.29 An Aldi avocado - 69¢. Safeway/Giant - $1.59 Mixed salad greens, Aldi $2.49. Safeway - $6. They even sell a smaller size where Safeway only sells the $6 plastic package. The lines are often too long; you bag your own groceries (so bring your reusable bags); no self checkout; buy your plastic bags; all maladies not uncommon to the traditional chains these days so no big deal there. Oh, and you'll pay 25¢ to rent a cart but often people are leaving as you're entering and will offer theirs. Either way, also no big deal. The chips got my attention and reaquainted me with the Aldi brand. I've migrated into the produce so who knows what's next. I'm still working my way up! Pleased to report that Aldi's has also remodeled most of their stores. The chain has grown on me and no longer makes me itch. Scoring = 4 Also, owned by the same folks that own TRADER JOE'S.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.
