How much do I love Aldi? Let me count the ways ... I'm a connoisseur of this grocery chain and will go out of my way for a superior store. This one in Jeffersonville is pretty rad. After a recent Creative Mornings downtown, I decided to run to Aldi across the bridge. I'd been here over before and recalled that it was large, clean, and fairly well organized (which isn't always the case). I popped over the 2nd St bridge & was there in a flash. Aldi has a ton of organic, whole foods for folks like me who are trying to live a healthier, plant- based life. Almost everything is their brand, like Trader Joe's. They have a commitment to providing loads of non-GMO and organic options. Did I mention I also love their weekly specials? They often have housewares at an amazing price. In the past month, I've snagged a small mandolin cutter, a silicone bento box, a refrigerator organizer .... If you like a deal and are watching you health, check this Aldi out! I may start a pilgrimage to southern Indiana for my Aldi fix as this store and the one in New Albany are some of the best around Louisville. read more

Hannah is one of the workers there and was not only friendly, and help, but she was also very generous. She answered lots of questions for me about the company who said positive things, and then let me borrow her personal cell phone to call pop-a-lock when I got locked out of my car in the parking. I love Aldi. You save so much of the great foods for a fraction of other store costs and the selection of product are fresh. This store has evolved over the years. It only took cash or debit, now credit has been added. The store definitely had its limitations of goods stocked or brand named goods, but they renovated to a lager footprint and expanded their food options. The store is always clean, the staff is typically very kind and good natured. They have some of the best meats I've prepared and tasted. The range of selection may not duplicate that of mega stores, but you can get some of the real basics, some oddities that others don't have or something totally different. I've never had a bad product from Aldi over the years. I start at Aldi for my basics and take my saving to another store for items I can't find at Aldi. read more

Love the store. Great for canned goods. Onion soup mix, chips, salsa and snacks. Prices are about 50% less than Krogers and Meijers. Milk is only $1.30. They have specialty cheese and meats to make a great platter for guests. Aldi is a must stop on your grocery day. But go there first because you may get everything cheaper there. Don't forget your quarter to get a cart and bring your own bags unless you want to buy some. read more

In the past we've done 90% of our grocery shopping at Kroger. Recently we received a sale ad in the mail for Aldi. We were having a birthday party in the next few days and in the ad, Aldi had large avocados on sale for 49 cents each. Since we were planning to make guacamole for a large group, we decided to give Aldi a try. We were quite surprised to find the produce was top quality and a heck of a value. The avocados were large and mostly too unripe to use right away. But for 49 cents each, we bought 8, put them in a brown bag. Two days later the avocados were perfect for guacamole. Additionally we bought asparagus for $1.79 a pound. The asparagus was very fresh and had the thin tender stalks we like best. We also purchased numerous grocery items and have enjoyed everything we've tried, especially the Pumpkin Salsa! Keep in mind, most everything they sell is brands not familiar to this area. However many items are packaged to look similar to national brands. So far, we've been back twice to shop and have been happy with most everything we've bought. Prices are significantly less than the major chain stores on most things. The store is small compared to the big chains, so Aldi doesn't have the selection of the big stores. Some things to consider if you've never shopped at Aldi's. Most items are off brands, and you have to bring your own bags, and bag your groceries. You also have to use a quarter to get a shopping cart. However, your quarter is returned when you take your cart back to the cart corral. Due to Aldi's limited selection, we shop at Aldi's as a supplement to Kroger. It all works out as the two stores are within a quarter mile of each other. read more

There are plenty of grocery shopping options around Jeffersonville, but none as exciting as Aldi, a relative of Trader Joe's, which we still do not have here (a true tragedy). Aldi has unique finds that we can't find anywhere else - great German chocolate, cheap wine, affordable spices that are a fraction of the price at Kroger, and really good canned goods. Don't go here expecting anything fancy. Part of the reason Aldi is affordable is that they don't spend money on aesthetics. At times this can make if difficult to find things, but the store is small and cozy enough to explore all the aisles without getting overwhelmed. The checkout area has no baggers. You bring your own bags (finally a store that doesn't have tons and tons of plastic bags in eco-unfriendly Indiana), and bag your own goods. You also never have to worry a messy cart-filled parking lot. The carts require 25 cents to "rent" until you return them. You get your money back. I still don't know why other stores don't adopt this policy! You may not find everything here, but some of our favorite cereals and treats are found only at Aldi. It's a gem of a store. read more

I love this store. I can fill up a whole grocery cart for about $100. Some things like some of the produce is not that great so we had to kind of be careful and really check it out. Aldi is a lifesaver for anyone on a budget but there are a few key things to know before you head into the store: 1) You need a quarter to get a shopping cart. When you return your cart you get your quarter back but if you don't have a quarter its a long walk through the store carrying your groceries. 2) Aldi doesn't take credit cards. One of the ways that they keep their costs down is by avoiding credit card processing fees. So, bring cash with you. 3) Bring reusable grocery bags or be prepared to pay per bag for disposable ones (aka be green or pay not to be!). Now, if that doesn't scare you away there are definitely some amazing savings at Aldi. Just this weekend I picked up bananas for 29 cents/lb and strawberries for $1.00 per carton. Their Fit and Active items are comparable to several national low calorie brands but are less than half of the cost. All in all I walked out last weekend with a big bag of groceries for $17.10 and I've enjoyed everything I have tried so far. read more

Aldi's was founded in Germany more than 100 years ago. I've been to an Aldi store in Germany. The Germany store was at least 3 times larger than the store in Jeffersonville. In Germany Aldi is the leading wine retailer in the country, so probably a third of the store is dedicated to wine and liquor. I found the German store to be higher quality, better wine, but also better chocolate, coffee, etc. Having said that, the USA Aldi stores offer good discounts and an adequate inventory. When you go to Aldi, you probably want to pick up a few items as it may take a while to check out, no self check out and usually one check out line open. Sarah the manager in training today was very disappointing. I came to purchase the last pillow that was soiled. I asked for a managers discount and she refused, even to entertain my request. She said that Aldi's must approve the discount or wait until next Tuesday! Unacceptable! I have been Aldi's since early 2005 in Jeffersonville IN and since 1974 in Germany. Sarah needs training in dealing with customers and learn to be a leader that can assume responsibilities as a future manager. Sarah is not ready for manager position. read more

I love Aldi! They have great and reasonable prices. You can go into the store and get $20 worth of groceries that will last your family at least 4 maybe 5 days. The employees are kind, friendly, and quick. Only problem is their lines get backed up real quick. Aldi has saved me and my daughter when money was tight. read more

So we are wine loves, heard of good Aldi wine reviews online, and we were visiting the area, so we stopped by the store, picked up some very affordable wine. Unfortunately, the cashier, made a mistake, charged us 4 bottles of Walker Red Wine of $9.99 instead of 1 bottle of Walker and 3 bottles of Grate Red Toscana Rosso, which were special buy for $ 4.99. The difference was about $15. We bought 13 bottles, so he just assumed the red tops were all at the same price. We didn't catch it until we got home...Andwe live in Memphis, the stores here don't carry wine. We emailed Aldi customer service from their website about the mistake , and got an email from there customer service, followed call from their district manager. He then sent us the difference by gift card, plus some extra to compensate our inconvenience. We are impressed. The wine taste fine, we haven't tried the cheapest ones yet. Some were like $4 (Not the cheapest one there yet) ! Some were award winning, 90+ points. Small collection, but diverse. Worth it. read more
