Like visiting TJ's cousin, but is lesser known to Hawaii residents. I get vibes of a big box stores, but on a much smaller grocery store scale. Aldi's offers their house band labels as well some national brand items. Like TJ's some items are seasonal so grab them when you see your favorite items. The cashiers sit on chairs and ring you up. The cashier at this location placed my items in a cart. You then pay & bag your items up. You then replace that cart with yours. Some of the stores with subpar customer service expect you to unpack and place your items in your cart after being rung up. Btw, all Aldi stores charge for bags so you might want to bring your own. Also keep in mind that Aldi charges 25¢ for use of a shopping cart. Customers like to pay it forward and pass in their cart to the next shopper which I think is great!

The special hot meal options here are great values: just over $10 for the chicken tenders (or fried fish or chicken) and 2 sides (I recommend the mashed potatoes) are very tasty and make a great takeout option. The salad bar: @$9/lb. it's nearly always well-stocked and fresh, with a wide variety of options and half a dozen dressings. But the BEST thing about the deli bar here is that it's staffed by two truly exceptional people: Dee and/or Jerry. They're personable and strive to ensure that we (their customers) get what we want. They tailor the servings to order with ease and skill, too. If you prefer to dine in, the ambiance is nothing to write home about. But I enjoy getting a good hot meal and maybe a salad that I select for takeout to enjoy in front of the TV news or whatever is on at the time. The deli bar is open until seven or eight p.m. I suggest calling and ordering ahead for large orders or catering. The other thing I like that led me to writing a 5-star review is the location.
