love the quarter to get a cart,stops carts racing across the car park due to ignorant selfish people who don't give a crap...............until it happens to them like at Target,Giant,Home Depot and the like. Anyhoo,prices are VERY fair,produce on the whole,very good,packaged,tinned items are great,as is the fresh,bakery and refrigerated items such as milk,eggs, yogurt etc,and did I mention very fair prices. Checkout is lightening fast,not another retailer/grocer/supermarket can touch the speed and efficiency of their checkout.Long lines occasionally but boy,they knock them down REAL fast! Not taking away from Lidl,they have great products too,including their onsite bakery,prices are fair on many items too,but what makes me opt for Aldi first is their format,floor layout and speed of checkout.Phenomenal. I give Giant a hard pass,not because their prices are higher,(and they are) but because I have been unfortunate enough to be there on 2 occasions when the store manager(found this out by chance on the second visit),her name starts with K,was talking to employees like crap,on the floor,in Giant attire and obviously in business hrs while there is foot traffic.I refuse to support a business that allows associate abuse. What can I say about my local Audi's? It's great! It's always neat & clean, fruits and veggies always fresh. Prices are always amazing and the variety of products available is pretty good too. Depending on the day and time you go, you could be faced with slightly long lines but that's because all the locals want in on the freshness & the savings. My favorite find here is the cold coffee beverages that are less than $2 here, when the named brand versions at other stores will net you almost $4 depending on where you buy, and they are equally as tasty if not better (flavor depending). There's nothing not to love about Aldi's, I'll continue to patronize them on my weekly grocery shopping trips. read more

This Aldi is a bit more well stocked than the one in Reisterstown. However what happened to all the carts? The have does prices on items that cost alot more at other grocers such as fruit, oat milk and organic eggs. The non need branded items also taste like the name brand. It is a pretty no frills store but as grocery prices continue to rise, I appreciate stores like these! read more

How is it that I missed out on this place? I am a discount queen, and saving money just makes me want to break out in an electric boogaloo.... So it's located in Reisterstown off of thee Reisterstown Road in the same shopping center as the Office Max. I was prepared, I brought my own bag, didn't think I needed a cart, I mean I only went to scope the scene and for one avocado, right? Wrong! I left having to buy a bag, because I found such amazing deals on produce, meat, and dairy items! I have no idea what the brands are, and honestly I really don't care. I got some happy farmer cheese, who passed his happiness on to me. I didn't have any problems with staff, everyone was fair and polite. I saved so much money that I brought myself some flowers! I don't know why it took me so long to get on the bandwagon for Aldi....I've been missing out. Grocery costs are constantly rising, and Also is the place to save on many items. Don't forget your quarter! When I first started going to Aldi I was a little perplexed that I needed a quarter to get a shopping cart. But it totally makes sense...holding pol accountable for putting their carts back. Genius. So if you want name brands, this is not the store for you. If you want a great deal and great products, this is the store for you. They have a little bit of everything but not always everything. Take a chance, save some cash. You won't be disappointed. As a "struggling" college student, buying groceries was almost last on my priority list but Aldi definitely helped to illeviate some of my food stress. Aldi's prices are super cheap. I could buy a whole shopping cart full of items (meats, milk, eggs, bread, the necessary staples) to last me for a month for about $80-$90. You really cant beat that price. I would say that the meat department isnt the best but if you're trying to eat healthy/live a healthy lifestyle Aldi offers a Fit & Active brand of products (cream cheese, fruit snacks, string cheese, yogurt, etc) as well as almost all fruits and vegetables at extremely inexpensive price, compared to that of almost all grocery stores. Like I said, if you are looking for meat - try a different grocery store. Best Aldi I have seen. Also you have to try Clanceys Honey Wheat pretzels that come in the tub - they are addicting! read more

I'm a lifetime Aldis shopper, but I will drive the extra ten miles to go to a better one. This one is dirty, the clientele is rude, the cashiers are rude. They don't discount the items in the discount bin. Seriously overcrowded. I found a much better one with a better atmosphere, and will not be returning here. read more

Aldi is a neighborhood grocery store. Low overhead with low prices. The food is fresh the shelves are kept stocked. This is a self service store. No bakery or deli counter. They Carry packaged meats deli and breads. You never know what you'll find on any given visit. If you like it buy it. It might not be available the next time you shop. Bring a quarter for the cart rental. The quarter is returned when you return your cart. Bring your own bags and save the environment as well as your cash. read more

It is a very small and direct market. I use to go here quite a bit with my mother when I was younger, but have only gone once as an adult. I had completely forgotten about the quarter in the cart system that they have. It is a nice market for people who don't like big markets, as well as those who like super fresh and healthy produce. I'm more of a traditional market type of person, so I probably won't visit Aldi too much. read more

Ah Aldi. A old stand by where I am from (The company actually originated in my home region of Germany and grew from canned goods into an all-around retailer over there now), we were very happy to see it come over here during our tenure in the States. First off, for anyone who thinks that this is a grocery store in the traditional sense, and moans about the "generic" brands (I just saw a Hyattsville review), get a clue. Aldi is a low cost retailer with a strategy of providing good quality (some European-made) food for people willing to eat but put off by higher end prices. That being said, their generic, at least in terms of cereal, marmelade, and canned goods, are of equal quality with the big brands, much of it being private label production from the same factories that make your fancy products. We personally go in large part for the chocolate, which is made in Europe and thus provides Lindt quality without the fancy price. Now, fresh produce is another story, although the stuff at this location looks alright. If you can afford Wegmans or other grocery stores (some of which have equally "questionable" goods), go there and indulge, but they have the basics on a budget here, something that is very much needed in our ongoing economy. It fulfills a need, and that is good enough for me. To the location. Out of all the Aldi locations in Baltimore, this one is the cleanest and best stocked. We used to go down to the Northern Parkway location and always felt a little odd, since the security guard used to follow us. I won't comment further... The crowd here is a good mix of the local populous and can include a latin crowd and some Eastern Europeans, so the selection is geared toward them as well as providing basic American staples. The aisles are, for an Aldi, wide and well-organized and the check-out is, also an Aldi-staple, slow. This keeps personnel costs low and allows them to stock more stuff at cheap prices, so I can once again live with it. Fazit: Aldi is a good, low-cost provider of staple food with some pleasant surprises. Don't expect Wegmans and you won't be disappointed. Oh, and bring cash, especially you unlucky Bank of America customers.... read more

I'm sad to see this Aldi location have only two reviews, one from someone reviewing a single staff member rather than the entire facility. This is the best Aldi you will find in the Baltimore area. Jan T basically summed it up, the company is Albrecht and Sons, the same company that originally owned Trader Joe's. It has the same commitment to high quality and VERY low priced goods. One thing you need to know is that the cashiers are TRAINED to scan quickly and their pay depends on it. They are basically taught to glide things quickly into the cart. It saves time to help keep operational costs low (and thus the cost of your goods) and also takes into account principles of ergonomics (focusing on minimal physical stress for the employee). I would know, I worked for Aldi a few years ago and was subject to the uber-German "ergonomics central" training. Like any job, this one can be stressful. Imagine the lines these cashiers deal with and the attitudes. If someone was upset, imagine the type of day they probably had or simply just don't take it personally. Smile, be on your way, and thank God your day isn't going as badly. It's never really about YOU and I honestly feel Americans expect too much in the way of customer service. Go to a country like France and see how great of service you get. We are spoiled. That being said, this Aldi is still awesome and I love it! Hope more people review it. read more

I love shopping in Aldi. Fantastic prices, delicious foods, superior products. Would shop there lots more if they had some music playing, or at least a radio. This silence is a major turn-off to an otherwise awesome shopping experience. read more

I love saving money and love this store! The staff (especially Miss Dee) greets each customer in line and the store has so many "regulars" shopping you can often hear "good seeing you again", "hi again", etc. The store is well laid out, orderly and clean. The brand names may not be familiar but they are good quality. I only go to Giant or Mars for fill-ins now. The bulk of my shopping is done at Aldi! Another plus-- because you "rent" your shopping cart there are no run-away carts littering the parking lot (you get your quarter back when you put cart back). read more

I Love Aldi. I say it all the time, every time I tell someone about Aldi -and I have converted quite a few non believers. I've shopped Aldi in the past whenever possible & was so excited when we got ours. Aldi's food is quality private label versions of name brand foods. Everything I have purchased at Aldi has tasted good and is virtually indistinguishable from name brand. Their Fit and Active line of healthier food items are my personal favorite. I can FILL a shopping cart for about a third of the cost at Giant or Mars. There are a few things that people should expect from Aldi: (1) you put a quarter in the cart to use it, when you replace the cart you get your quarter back. This saves the cost of having an employee gathering carts-it doesn't cost the consumer anything & the store passes their savings on to you. AND no more lazy people leaving carts in the lot to run into your car. (2) cash or debit only. Again this is a cost saving measure- businesses pay a percentage of credit card payments to the payment processing company(and you end up paying it in the form of more costly items) Since Aldi doesn't have to pay this fee, they pass the savings on to the consumer. (3) you bag your own groceries. Boxes are free, they sell re-useable bags, thick plastic and paper bags, as well as insulated bags. The savings here are twofold- less waste is better for the environment and the savings again benefits the consumer. (4) There is almost always a line, however the cashiers are quick & efficient and it moves quickly . The reason that there seem to be fewer cashiers than at other stores is that they don't just sit there idle- if there isn't a long line they are stocking shelves until they are actually needed at the register. If you don't mind "sacrificing" a few extra minutes to bag you own groceries(which I've noticed I tend to end up doing at other stores anyway, since the cashiers don't seem to know how to handle re-usable bags & sort of seize up) you can save a boatload. If you want to be catered to, go to the other grocery stores, but remember, you will be paying for it. and just FYI: I DO NOT work for Aldi, I just really, really like shopping there! read more

I just started shopping at Aldi a few months ago & I'm still amazed every week when my bill is close to half of what it was at the regular grocery store! I try to eat "clean," which is definitely a challenge on a budget, but the produce at Aldi has been great and the prices are wonderful! The only downside to Aldi is that you never know what they're going to have week to week (especially in produce) so you have to be a little flexible in planning your meals. read more

I shop at Aldi, Reisterstown, almost as much as at the Giant across the street, which has more variety and good sale prices. Have never had a problem. Quality generally seems high, and prices favorable. My cat did reject their pet food, however. Yours might like it - who knows with cats. I do sometimes find seasonal or special food I wish was year-round. read more
